Bill & Dave's Smokin' Pit

I did a take out order of the house salad with fried chicken, coleslaw, and fried okra. The salad is truly house size, fried chicken is delicious, I asked for extra ranch dressing and was given three Marzatti buttermilk ranch packs with no up charge. Marzatti makes a really good dressing, so that's a good choice if you don't want to make it in house. This might be the best salad in Tell City.Coleslaw and fried okra are wonderful too.Next time I'll get a small salad and try some smoked meat.

The ambiance was mediocre, your typical BBQ spot.Service was just ok, no smiling face greeting us. We walked up to the counter waited a few minutes and placed our order.After about 10 minutes it was brought out to us.The food was very lackluster, chicken was dry and tasted reheated rather than fresh. Beef was overcooked.The BBQ really wasn't impressive.

Food was good, I have door dashed here before so I knew what I wanted. Order at the counter, tip jar also there, which I thought was a good idea. I only have one complaint. Fighting the flies sitting by the window. I got the 4 fish fillers with 2 sides & sweet tea. Service was excellent & my fish fillers were perfect.

Simple decor and atmosphere but awesome food. I had the ribs and the wife had the fish, both were excellent. They homemade chips are super as well.

One of the Best in Tell City for sure. Buffet is loaded with quality foods. Something there for everyone. Waiters also do a great job of keeping beverages filled up. Some of the best ribs around this area also. 5 star all the way.

We took my parents here Easter Sunday, our first time eating there...It's buffet style and menu...We went for the buffet, so between the four of us...we ate or tasted everything they had to offer and it was ALL Good!From the smoked turkey & chicken to the fried chicken & fish and all the bbq pork, beef & mutton in between, not to mentioned the mouth watering tender brisket! All that with a large assortment of vegetables & casseroles; soup & salad bar. My father couldn't make up his mind at the dessert bar with all it puddings, pies & cakes...he came back to the table with 5 desserts and proceeded to eat all of them without sharing!The restaurant is nothing fancy to look at...inside or out. Actually my mother was a little concerned when we first pulled up, but I'm a don't judge a book by the cover kind girl. Inside it is clean and the service is good. Decor is very plain, hodgepodge of tables & chairs and the 4 buffet tables. But the workers are friendly! And the food is delicious! We were all well pleased and full when we left. Dad even said, "it was better than Moonlight and a shorter drive too!"

Food was fresh and seasoned well. I got the catfish, fried chicken, and potato wedges. I will definitely return!

We love the Smokin' Pit and eat here every time we come thru Tell City. Like many restaurants prices have increased as food prices have risen nationwide. Still reasonable for the portions and deliciousness! Best fried chicken in southern Indiana and the pull pork is smoked to perfection. Just walk up to the counter to order and they bring the food to you fresh and delicious.

No soap or paper towels in the bathroom only one light works. Food was much better when they were located on Main Street

I've came in here with three others and sat for 15 mins with no server what so ever walked up to order our food only to be waiting for over an hour already as people are coming in an getting their food instantly this by far is the worst service I've had at this place!
