This place was rather enjoyable to stay at. The management however was a different story anyone that worked at a desk and typed on a computer all day, you could expect them to be very rude and very snooty toward you. Now those who actually do the work in the hotel who actually clean the rooms and maintain the rooms to make sure that everything is in working order are outstanding to say the least. They are wonderful people with very caring hearts and they understand what it's like to go through a difficult time. I am a mother of three children ages 4 2 and 7 months and they are messy to say the least. As a housekeeper was coming by to do rooms we told her we would like ours to be tidied up and we left for a while. Upon Our return we found our sons 30 + miniature dinosaur figurines were lined up along the table and the air conditioning unit my husband ended up giving them just a small $5 tip to show how much we appreciated them taking that extra time to do those little things. Later on that evening I heard a knock on the door I asked who it was and from the other side I heard housekeeping. I let them know I did not need anything, we were fine, and our room was fine. Then she asked if she could ask me a question. I opened the door and she hands me a bag full of toys and snacks that they had generously bought for my children! So to the crew that does the work at the Best Way Inn thank you for making our stay there amazing beyond belief and even though I bragged to your manager and she could care less and probably didn't say a word to you, just know that there is a family of five out here that you have touched and helped make our hard times a little bit more enjoyable thank you so much!

The first time I stayed here was last Fall. I found this place charmless and neglected, but no one in Madison had rooms except them so we stayed. The room was frumpy, and the TV didn't work, but the office staff was pleasant, and we had no major issues. The second time we stayed was this past weekend, also because no one else had rooms. We checked the room (120) for signs of bedbugs, saw none so we brought our things into the room. Later we found a bedbug crawling on the sheets on one of our beds. The front staff person called the office manager, who was at home, to tell her about this and she said that no one else had had any problem with bugs in that room. That was a somewhat irrelevant response, but it seemed to imply that there actually was not a problem or that we were to blame. They offered to change our room, but when I walked up to the office in the dark, a man made an obscene suggestion to me and, as we were 2 women traveling alone together, we did not feel safe relocating to the back of the building in the dark. No apology was offered. No discount was offered. I realize that things like this happen, but the issue is how it is dealt with. This staff stonewalled us. All staff claimed not to have the authority to discount, and still, no apology was offered. We left Madison earlier than planned since we would both need to sort, inspect and wash everything that we had in our room so that we didn't bring the scourge home with us. This was abysmal experience . From the frumpy, dumpy dingy room to the complete lack of service recovery. I discourage you from staying here

Do not go there! Sleep in your car if you have to. The first thing you're hit with when you open the door to the room is a horrible odor. It was midnight and we were tired so we stayed. The next morning we saw the rest of the room. Holes, filth, bugs, cigarette burns, hair in the bed that wasn't ours, sheets on inside out, curtains were falling apart . . . . . Need I go on? Due to Covid the pool was closed and the continental breakfast wasn't available. One bright side - the woman that checked us in was super nice. Other than that, the worst place I have ever stayed by far. Thankfully it was only for that night and we were back on the road again. I wrote management and never heard back from them. After coming here and reading the other reviews, I can see why. This is business as usual for them

This place is more then just a joke. I am very surprised this place is still up and running the staff treat there employees and guest like trash. There constantly having pest control coming in on a by weekly basis. This place is definitely not recommended by me!!

HORRIBLE!!!!! MOLD ON THE WALLS, AND CEILINGS!!!! dirt on walls, floors are black from dirt!!! Pool was closed due to mold then proceeded to tell us 10 minutes later it was open and it was gone?!??? Horrible rude service, Tv didn't work, shower leaked bad all over the floor like a huge puddle , and so did toilet. Outdated horribly. Open lose wiring within reach!!! We had a one year old!!

I came here with my boyfriend late last night. We booked a room for two nights. When we entered the first room, we were instantly hit with a very musty smell. The bathroom door was covered in holes, as if someone had punched it. There were cigarette burns all over the sink, as well as in the bedding. There were dead roaches on the floor, holes in the wall, curtains were coming down, the tv didn't work....BECAUSE IT DIDNT HAVE A POWER CORD. No shampoo, no soap. We also received a very unwelcomed awakening at 8am for house keeping!!! After a very late arrival, this was extremely frustrating. I went to the front desk to switch rooms. I'm currently staying in the new room...., it's better than the last ...but I have to wonder why the other was so incredibly neglected, while this room is "okay"? The rooms are nearly identical, so it wasn't as if we got an upgrade...this room even came with toiletries. I will say with confidence, I will not be back. This place needs some serious work.

The people were nice, but the hotel needs a lot of work. There was a big pile of mattresses piled out by the dumpsters, which could mean a couple things. I would not stay here again. It was cheaper than most other hotels in the area.

Saturday, Jan 16 2021 I attempted to check into a suite and was given 161. Upon arriving at said room the deadbolts were locked on both suite doors so the key would not grant access. At the time a black range or land rover and a white compact Toyota car were parked ok outside in front of the suite. The SUV had a young male sleeping inside. At the front desk when when I complained the young woman working went back and told the vehicles drivers to move and said the room was unlocked. I know this was not true. I returned to the suite and the key demagnitized or deactivated and wouldnt open the door. This was my witts end I thought. Unfortunately it gets worse as I returned to my vehicle the young man that had prior been asleep in the SUV walked out of the suite. The compact white Toyota was gone by the time I came back. I finally decided to return the key and ask for a refund which I wasnt informed to the process and length in which it would take to receive back into my account. Unaware of the 5 to 7 business days I was informed it will take I'm issuing this complaint. I have never seen such unprofessional misconduct or clear lack of concern for customer safety as well as professionalism. An uninvited guest had been in the suite I was attempting to check into, it was never cleaned or inspected further than opening the door. I dont understand whom would have thought they had the right to be in there. I'm honestly to the point of reporting it to authorities.

As a guest of this sad establishment I decided to take a walk outside in the parking lot and smoke a cigar. Next thing I know I am explaining myself to three city police officers because the STAFF called the police on me because they thought I had no business being there and was drunk. I don't drink. I am a disabled veteran. I was made to feel like a criminal and all of this mess happened without any effort from management in terms of an apology after the police themselves discovered that all of this was an error in judgement on the part of the staff of this place. What a joke!!! As if this is the only place for me to pay hard earned money for a second rate motel. Help the staff (because if you are not there that is one less person they have to deal with as it all pays the same and they know this sad truth) and yourself out by STAYING AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.

DO NOT STAY HERE. The bedding was stained and had cigarette burns. The morning after sleeping there, we found bed bugs. We brought this to the attention of the hotel staff and they still made us pay for the room. Poorly maintained. The housekeepers knocked on our door at 8:30am and woke us up to ask if we were leaving even though check out was 11am. I wish I could give it 0 stars.
