There's nothing like some good Mongolian food, and BD's knows how to do it. BD's is no longer in southeast Virginia, but on my visit to Lexington, Kentucky, I was blessed to spend time at one with my brother and nephew. So it works like this: take a seat, and the server will bring you menus and your drink order. You can choose from menu items or build your own plate. If you make your plate, off to the item bat to "build your plate." The item bar has your meat, veggies, and sauces and don't forget the egg. Pile it high cause it shrinks when cooked. Next, it is off to be cooked by a BD master chef. They will take your plate and cook it with a hot evo griddle. You have a choice of rice or noodles. The master chef adds the sauce you picked up at the item bar, mixes in the egg (if you got it), and then serves it up on a clean plate. The food is good, the service is great and value is not bad. I like this place. If you get something you don't like... it's your ownfault. The food quality is above average and very fresh in most instances. The rice is very tender and tastes good. The service is minimal so that cuts your chances of an issue. No problem for me. The decor is woody and kinda' dark but hey the show at the grill is bright, warm, and happy. I've not had a bad experience there in several years. Ready for a BD meal right now!

Holy moly this food was delicious. If you pile your bowl right you'll be eating like a king. Our waiter/server Jose was super chill and just the right amount of attentive. As long as you follow directions when it comes to the sauces for the build your own bowls, you'll have a great experience.

My boyfriend wrote this review and I've never in 5 years seen him not finish a plate of food at a restaurant: I had the unfortunate experience of dining at this restaurant recently and I must say it was beyond gross.To start, they sat us at a table that was sticky and clearly not cleaned properly. It was off-putting and made us question the cleanliness of the rest of the restaurant. The drinks had maybe a splash of alcohol, but that was expected with how cheap they were. Our food was at the same time burnt and undercooked. My girlfriend literally threw up after we left. I'm surprised more people don't walk out of there with food poisoning. Lastly, everything in the bathroom was wet. Nothing like touching the handles and knobs not knowing if someone just wiped pee on everything. Overall, my experience at this restaurant was extremely disappointing and I will not be returning. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Staff is very friendly and the food options are quite diverse. All of the food to choose from to make your own dish was very fresh and the whole buffet area was very clean and tidy. It's a good place for a group, a date or even out with the kids.

Food was chard. I watched him scrape half of my bowl that was burnt onto the grill into the trash so half the food gone there and the meat looked like sludge so I opted for tofu and veggies will not be back

I can't say that I've been to place quite like this. It was a great experience and reasonably priced for the food you get. You get a bowl. Yes, a bowl. Fill it with everything you want to be cooked. I mean everything!! Stack it up! It's all raw ingredients from veggies to proteins to seafood. Grab your sauces and head to the cooking station to hand over your bowl of goodness and watch as they cook it up in a unique hibachi style way. I don't know it this place is anywhere other than Kentucky, buts it's worth that stop if you're ever in this area and are hungry! We left with multiple to go containers all from that one bowl after we ate some at the restaurant. Worth the $18 for sure!!

I mostly come here for my birthday. I like to get a bowl of vegetables mixed with pasta and fish. It is often accompanied by rice and tortillas. Depending on my mood, I top it off with different variety of sauces. It's pretty cool to watch the food being prepared by the grillers. They make it look so effortless, but it's definitely a skill.
