Bake's Place

I will eat here everyday if I could. This is definitely a bias review because I love shops like this: serves great food, fast, cheap and small business. great place to grab a quick breakfast sandwiches or lunch. Don't just get their sandwiches, the soups are great too.There is limited seating so don't come in big crowds.

I love bakes place so much and their new-ish space. Always the best sandwich and best price. Can't beat them. Owned by fire son and father. Here's a pic of my fave sandwich, the hot ham and Swiss. Biscuit and gravy for breakfast is also great.

Bake's Place has the best homemade soup in Cincinnati!A coworker discovered their twice baked potato soup and the aroma filled the office, so I had to go check out where this amazing soup came from enjoyed my own and was hooked.It's the best value downtown and who doesn't like their soup topped with fresh bacon pieces and melted cheese.They also have daily specials, I've enjoyed their meatloaf with the most flavorful green beans and Bakesgiving special with oven roasted turkey.

Ok in a pinch but I was a little disappointed. They basically offered a bunch of warmed up process med food. I ordered French toast and watched as they tore open a package of frozen French toast and tossed 2 slices into the toaster.Also had a small biscuit and gravy it was ok.

4 stars for food. Negative 3 stars for service. Food is good and inexpensive. The staff is very friendly and nice...but they move in slow motion. In all seriousness, you could go to any DMV in this country and leave faster and less frustrated. The service at Bake's is painfully slow to the point that it's hard to understand how they're and actual business. Unless you have a minimum of 25 minutes to wait for a simple deli sandwich and chips, don't go. The wait time is unreal here. People get frustrated after 10 minutes waiting in line and aren't even 1/2 way through and walk out. Simply Grand would have you in and out in 5, 10 minutes max, with 4x the customer volume. I don't just understand why this place is so slow, they seem to be more than adequately staffed. I really want this place to make it here, but I don't know how they can survive on a lunch crowd with this level of service. If you place any value at all on your time, I recommend avoiding Bake's.

Food is good however it's pathetic how long it takes to get your order. From today I ordered a grilled cheese and a premade potato salad. After 40 minutes, I got the simple grilled cheese and a premade pasta salad. During my time waiting I got to watch the people after me order, get their food, and eat it. The lack of caring is awful to experience on the customer side.

Its a nice little place that's quick and efficient. It reminds me a lot of NY kitchens, where everyone is more focused on making good food rather than eachothers business.

Great food, reasonable prices. Various specials that change week to week keep the menu fresh. Tom and company do a great job. Highly recommend for lunch.

Good food, reasonable prices, friendly staff. I want this place to do well and would give it 5 stars if not for the fact that unless you come outside of prime lunch hours this is a llllllong wait to order (waited in line for 15-20min today). To the owner: Please please please do something to speed this process up (quicker POS system, open another register, etc.). To be clear I've been here several times since opening and this is a recurring theme, not an off day.
