Awesome Opossum Gifts

It was two weeks ago, on cool Sunday afternoon, and we were walking back to our car after an afternoon at a couple of museums. The streets of Louisville were light on traffic and very few people walking. As we were walking back to the garage we spent some time window shopping. As we near The Alley Theater we stop at the lobby window and look at the cool arts and crafts for sale. At least. ..they weren't officially for sale, yet. We comment on how cool some of the items were when a lady standing nearby overheard our interest. She then told us she was the owner and ahe was opening tomorrow. She gladly offered us the opportunity to go in and shop if we were willing to pay cash and exact change. We couldn't resist and went in. About 20 minutes later we were the first sale for Awesome Opossum! We took a picture with the owner and signed the $5 bill for framing!Since then we've wanted to return and shop during official hours. We stopped by today and this is a great little A&C store along Main Street. This street gets a lot of foot traffic and metered parking is available along the street..... if you can find a spot!The store is located within the lobby of The Alley Theater and, although small, it is filled with a nice variety of arts and crafts and artwork from local artists.We bought a couple of bracelets that were a bit too short. The owner was awesome enough to add a few links to lengthen them and we walked away with some pretty cool stuff. Prices are reasonable and the owner tells us the inventory will rotate.We love supporting local artists and local stores. Awesome Opossum is a great addition to the local business scene.

This shop has things you cannot find everywhere. There are new treasures to look at every time I go in. They sell a lot of items made by Kentucky Artist. The staff is really helpful. Out of town guess are always dropping in for that one of a kind gift to take home. I do send my friends there.

Very unique items, reasonably priced. I'd love to go back but have had a hard time finding it open when I can get there. Hope to revisit soon.
