Somehow I managed to miss this market while trying several other Indian stores in town. This one is considerably bigger than it looks, and has a rounded selection including plenty of produce. The various breads, packaged foods, and an extensive freezer aisle offer most of what you might need. I had multiple brands of dosa batter to pick from. Now, perhaps, I don't need to depend on traveling to another city to get a wide selection of South Asian food items.

I am so glad that Lexington has an Indian store as it makes it so much easier to cook at home. It is always clean and stocked with everything I need from the different dried beans and flour to snacks.

Five stars for cleanliness and most of all, for their fresh exotic veggies and fruits! My mom was so excited to find all the veggies and they were in good condition (so she says) and she's from PA where they have more access to these kinds of veggies. We were impressed at the store's cleanliness and order. We will definitely be back!!

If you're looking for Indian food or groceries then this is the place to come in or around Lexington. It's the cleanest and largest store around. I highly recommend it.

I was looking for a place to get curry powder and garam marsala when a buddy of mine told me Tandoor has a market beside it that sells great Indian products. So of course, I decided to pop in and pick up a few things. Apna Bazar is located directly beside Tandoor over across the road from the Dollar Theater. Be aware that plaza has a tricky parking lot. You have to pay attention and follow the painted arrows on the road. If not, you will be hit. I was greeted by all of the workers when they saw me. I was asked if I needed help. They may have assumed I was lost becuase I was walking up and down every isle just observing what great products from India they were selling. The store was set up logically and very very clean. All of the products were faced properly and perfectly aligned. The OCD in me loved that. That is really what popped them up to 5 stars. Their attention to detail. Great job guys. They also have a produce section and frozen food section. I will have to stop in here again when I have more time. I was able to buy my spices and even got Chai and tandoor chick pea snacks to boot without breaking the bank. It was a great trip. If you are in the area, please stop in and see these guys.

It's OKAY compared to other Indian Markets. I will tell you why. I came here to find Red Label tea, probably one of the most tastiest teas I have ever tasted (try saying that fast). When I had gone in, it was basically what you would think, an "old school" building supermarket. What I mean by that is, if one were to go to say Kroger or Meijer, you would have these signs specifying what is in each aisle. Here? Nothing. I was able to find one dude, who was arranging things and he had basically shown me where it was. It's funny how this tea cannot be found in many places, but Indian markets; however, hilarious that all this time I thought it was Indian manufactured. Apparently, it is CANADIAN! O_o But yeah, 100 packs for $5.99. Not very cheap tea. It's not like Lipton (which they categorize as Yellow Label). I will have to do a price match and/or taste test to see if these Lipton teas are any different. Some issues: On the receipt, it expects the customer to check everything. Basically the liability is on the customer. Read from the receipt:Please check your receipt. No receipt, no return, and no exchangeReturn withing 7 days of receipt. No return for vegetables and/or frozen foods No cash refund or store credit exchange only. Please check your receipt and your bags before you leave. We are not responsible for any left over merchandise. I would think points 1.), 2.), and 4.) are pretty explanatory; however, points 5.), 6.) and 7.) should be on the store. You should be able to get cash refunded and/or you should be able to get any left over merchandise you left there. These do not protect the consumer at all, if there is a lot going on during checkout.I could see how with 6.) one could buy something, take it out at home, and then go back, claiming that they did not get that item (lost profit there); however, if anything was left at the store, 7.), the consumer lost money on something the store could have done (say someone forgot to put something in the bag). They should have a basket of all the crap left behind for that day for claiming and specify, "if you left something behind, you have that same day to claim it." Idk...better ethics.

The owners are very helpful and the prices can't be beat. If you'd like quality ingredients, not only for Indian food but for produce and grains in general, this is the place to go!
