This was a great experience. We learned about bourbon, met new friends, laughed with Lauren, got some steps in, and bought lovely gifties to open at home. Drinks are fantastic and parking is across the street.

My wife is a big fan of Angel's Envy Rye, so it was only fitting that our first distillery tour was at Angel's Envy. We did the Private Select tour that lasts an hour. Kelsea was a super smart and engaging tour guide. Loved her energy and how interactive she made the tour. Like all distillery tours, the tour walks you thru the production steps. I found the facility to be spacious, beautifully designed with awesome signage. As someone who loves technology, the new bottling/labeling line was fun to watch. They can produce almost 50K bottles daily. For our tasting, we tried three types of bourbon. The first was used to prep our mouth and senses for the next two tastings. We also had chocolates that came alive when tasted with the bourbon. If you are fortunate to have Kelsea as your guide, make sure you spell her first name correctly in any review. Her awesome presentation was worthy of a nice tip, which we happily shared as we left the boardroom. In the retail store on the main level, pick up a bottle and have your name inscribed for $10. A neat keepsake for any visit.#angelsenvy

We decided to book a tour of Angel's Envy while visiting Louisville, KY and it did not disappoint! Located in downtown, Angel's Envy is a quick walk from Nulu where our hotel was. For starters, our tour guide Tony was amazing; super friendly, knowledgeable and a joy to have for the approx. hour long tour of the entire facility. The tour groups are small, only 12 people in each group, so it is an extremely educational and intimate experience where you are able to ask questions and really get a good picture of how they do things at Angel's Envy. Towards the end, the tour includes a sit down bourbon tasting which is super fun! Reservations fill up quickly so make sure to book in advance; 1-2 weeks+ especially if there are any events going on in town. Highly recommend checking this out if you're visiting the Louisville area!

This review is only for their bar as we did not do a tour. This is a must-do when in Louisville- right downtown and a beautiful building. The bar is walk-up only with no table service but the bartenders are incredibly talented and full of personality. Mika was fantastic! They have a limited cocktail menu and tasting pours. We tried the Henderson which is a take on an Old Fashioned made with their port syrup which was amazing and I definitely did purchase the port syrup in the gift shop on the way out. We also had a cocktail with some pear liqueur which was also tasty, but wasn't as bourbon-forward and we were here for the Angel's.

We did the tour at Angels Envy and then afterwards got a drink at their bar. We really enjoyed this tour as it was a little different than the others we had done. We walked through many areas of the distillery that other tours did not take us and the tasting came with a chocolate pairing which was a nice touch! The facility is beautiful and so was the bar area. It was really neat to see how some of our favorite bourbon is made!

Although I prefer distilleries away from urban areas Angel's Envy caught my eye several years ago after seeing a video made by the late graphic designer, Julius Friedman. An old historic building renovated into an attractive distillery plus half off a tour because it was Hometown Tourist Month was an offer I couldn't refuse. The tour is an hour long with a tasting at the end. Although there is a pay parking lot next to the distillery just a block east on Main Street you can find free parking. I simply parked on Hancock Street(side street off of East Main Street). If you are willing to park a block and half away you can save money. You are also the nearby NuLu district of East Market Street with a number of local shops and restaurants plus some coffee shops.

A great place to learn about the distilling process while also enjoying tastings of classics and rarities alike. The Finishing Room is a good place to go after-or before-your tour or tasting. I was able to participate in the Distillery Experience which was paired with chocolates, for a great start to a Louisville weekend!

Self admittedly, I'm not really a Bourbon afficionado, more of a Mezcal connoisseur, but I do enjoy the occasional Old Fashioned. Since I was going to be traveling through Kentucky, I thought I would tour some distilleries and do some tastings. And since my wife works in the wine and spirits industry, a colleague of hers arranged a few with some of the distilleries they have dealings with. On first entering, Angels Envy seemed a bit more serious and formal than some, but the tour and tour guide were excellent, and I'd say I learned the most about making bourbon/whiskey and how to enjoy it here more so than any other tour. Unfortunately, halfway through the electricity went out here, and the surrounding blocks (car accident down the street because the stop lights went out too). After a brief pause, the tour and tasting went on, but unfortunately, the bottle engraving machine was down because of it. I would have bought a couple of 750ml bottles instead of the boxed set of two 350ml bottles. It would have been cool to have a couple of bottles engraved for my wife . . . . but that's Mother Nature for you. They would have engraved whenever the electricity came back on later in the day or the following day but I had other stops in the afternoon and the wouldn't open the next day until hours after I'd be heading back th DC.It's definitely a must stop! And the chocolate pairings are amazing! This might sound crazy but if they offer you hand sanitizer . . . . cup your hands and take a sip.

Our second distillery was Angel's Envy, a short walk from Rabbit Hole. The distillery was in a a lovely brick building and I loved the aesthetic. The hour-long tour was $25US and only two samples -- bourbon finished in a port cask and rye whiskey finished in a rum cask. While tasty, I didn't purchase any because Angel's Envy is sold in Canada, but I did spent quite a bit in the gift shop! After the tour, we stopped for a cocktail in the lounge.[Yelp collections: Louisville/Indianapolis 2023; Louisville, KY 2023; Wine Time!]

My friend and I went there for a tour and our tour guide was informative and funny. It was very interesting and cool to see the inside workings of the actual distillery. Last time I was there we were unable to tour because of something called the pandemic. We got to try the their bourbon and rye paired with chocolate and it was very good! After that we had a few drinks at their bar that were super unique and well balanced. Highly recommend.
