My girlfriend and I have eaten at Aji a lot since my first intial review. That being said, a lot of what I said in that review was a bit outdated. Since we are now frequent customers, I wanted to provide new recommendations.First things first, the atmosphere here is cozy. We've never had to wait in a line to eat here. The service is always excellent, everyone is friendly. They can even make changes for you if you're on a specific diet, I have done so before as I used to be gluten-free. All you have to do is ask and they change it.We love trying new things at Aji but the staples we get are really hard to beat! So, we usually stick to what we love which is the shrimp bomb. The eel sauce they put on it is delicious. If you like sweet and tangy sauces, like teriyaki sauce, you will love it. Other dishes we like that are similar are the crab tower and the dragon roll. Those are both good options and very similar, just with different toppings. I also reccomend trying the Japanese beef curry. You get a large portion of it. It has a mild flavor, it's not very strong but it's pretty good. The deep fried dumplings are also very good, the sauce is similar to the eel sauce but a little more tangy and slighty watery. If you have a fear of eating raw sushi, fear not because all of these recommendations are cooked. We love coming here. The prices are reasonable, the staff are welcoming and kind, the atmosphere is laid-back, and the food is delicious. Even when being a little adventerous, I dont think we've ever ordered something that was inedible. Please give this place a try if you haven't, it's truly a hidden gem.

I have to rate this place so we know not to return. The server was really nice, but both entrees were so bad that we felt they were inedible.

Calling all sushi lovers, this place is the bomb, its small but has many varieties of sushi and great quality food, and the atmosphere is very chill. Parking is not the best and you can easily miss it, but the customer service is great.

I placed a carry out order for lunch and was told it would be ready in 20 minutes. In actually it probably took closer to 30 but I didn't exactly count. I just know I came within the appointed time and had to wait for my dish to be done. That's why I took a star off. Otherwise the quality of my salmon poke bowl was top notch. There was equal parts rice and beautifully seasoned salmon in the bowl. Highly differentiated from the competition where you get a much smaller portion of protein. The spice level was elevated for my taste but I still pleased with the flavor medley. It had simple ingredients: rice, avocado, salmon and cucumber. My other complaint is the cucumber needs to be peeled. I didn't like the thick skin.

Food is 100000/10, service is great they're really nice and efficient. The place itself is a hole in the wall and looks tiny and out dated but the food makes up for it all around. Best sushi and apps ever.

Sushi establishment located in the okolona community of Louisville Kentucky. Located just off outer loop right where it meets Shepherdsville road. I've been eyeballing this place for awhile. My oldest daughter and wife love sushi and we frequent senor iguanas across the street very frequently so This place has caught our eye. From the exterior it looks kinda ran down. They didn't have a legit store sign for a long time so that was off putting. Yesterday on a Friday evening. Me my wife and my oldest and youngest daughters finally made the trip here. The inside is decorated very lovely and nice. Stark contrast from the outside. We received solid service here as well. We started with 4 sushi rolls. The crab Rangoon roll which may have been the best sushi I've ever tasted. Highly recommended. We also got a yum yum roll which was very good as well. The other two rolls we got was a California roll and my oldest got a crab tower. The crab tower was really cool and servers different from other sushi's. My oldest loved it. I took a sample and it was very good. I did not try the California roll but my wife said it was good. Was on par with other California rolls she has Had. For entree I got fried rice with egg and it was solid. My wife and daughter got some soups. Udon noodle with shrimp and a shrimp and veggie ramen. Both were huge and extravagant looking. They both were fans. Only complaint is the breaded shrimp was soggy and that was a weird taste to them. Overall very good place and I'm glad we finally made the trip. Can't always judge a place by its exterior. Kind of a hole in the wall sushi place from the outside. But very nice and tasty on the inside.

Always love all the dishes I get here. Sushi is reasonably priced, hibachi items are good as well. We have gotten to go and dined in and both were fine experiences.
