I came to Taste of Kentucky to buy postcards. There are very few places locally that sell them so this has been my go to location. I'll be factual that each postcard , the standard 4" x 6" size, cost $1. There is no discount for larger purchases and to be frank I never questioned it in the past . I would just pick out a dozen cards and pay the price. I roamed the store for cute KY items I could enclose in some greeting cards and decided everything was a little over priced or didn't suit my fancy. I left thinking I would recommend this store to out of town guests that wanted Kentucky memorabilia. After leaving Taste of Kentucky I went next door to the Hallmark Store to pick up some greeting cards. Upon check out to buy my chosen cards I asked if they had any postcards. They accommodated me immediately by bringing a stack to the front counter. There were many of the same postcards but a few different choices. Since I was standing at the cash register I asked how much their postcards were. Most were 30 cents and the highest price one was 79 cents. I stocked up with an additional 18 cards. Sorry Taste of Kentucky you have lost me and my recommendation to others as the place to buy postcards.Even when I'm at a tourist location on the Atlantic coast beaches or in San Francisco, CA postcards standardly are far less expensive than Taste of Kentucky prices. You need to rethink your price or lose customers.

I loved this place. This place had me feeling extra grateful to be a local. Especially surrounding The Kentucky Derby. They had things from ornaments, kitchen items, memorabilia, T-shirts, jewelry, candles, & all the Kentucky Proud you can think of. The place was clean & the customer service was great. They walked around answering any questions & handing out baskets. Just incase ;) 10/10 recommend. Oh & a personal plus for me was I purchased a GOLD PEGASUS PIN! WhoO HoO LoL

Very cute little store that has pretty much anything you could want to commemorate your trip to KY. The main reason I wanted to come here was to buy one of the famous Derby Pies I read about. It's still in the freezer but they had this in all different sizes as well as other kentucky classic items. Too bad we had a drive to Cincinnati ahead of us and GF was getting impatient, otherwise I really could have done some damage in this store.Great place to get gifts for others or souvies for yourself.

Wonderful store with so much locally made in Kentucky and not made in Taiwan with Kentucky stamped on it. The staff was extremely helpful!

I needed an office gift for a holiday party. I loved TOK when it was downtown, and the runner up location was when it was by St Matthews mall. Now it is WAY out and very inconvenient to me. No matter, I knew what I wanted so I placed an order on the website and went the next day to pick it up. This was on a Saturday afternoon. When I arrived there were three employees and one other customer. I saw some other things in the shop that I wanted so I grabbed those and made my way to the counter. I said I had an order to pick up. No problem, the brunette lady who helped me was cheery and pleasant and left to find it. I paid for my other things in the meantime. Suddenly she reappears and says she cannot find the order. She asks for my name again while I start looking for the email. She leaves again but now this blond lady starts questioning me, searching for my name. She then says "did you get a call from us?" I say no, is there a problem with the order? She then tells me that they "never" pull online orders on the weekend because they dont have the help (?) and I should never have come until I was called to tell me that the order was ready. She seems very aggravated as she is telling me this. I start to say "OK, this is a small order, just cancel it and I will find everything on the shop floor". Like it literally was no big deal. Except she huffs and says "I GUESS I can get it all together RIGHT NOW." OK, thank you? And as she hands me the bag is still kind of chastising me for being so cheeky as to pick up an order on a Saturday.HOWEVER, I went back and checked. There is No indication on the emailed receipt of "pick up rules" and No indication on the website anywhere that you must wait for a call first.I kind of feel like either my order slipped through the cracks or someone had just been lazy and not pulled orders that day and they decided to blame me instead of saying "Oh sorry it will just be one minute to get it all sorted."An extra star for their merchandise selection but otherwise just be aware of the service. Please bring back the downtown location, it was so great!

This is the place to go to buy your KY themed gifts. I stopped in a few weeks ago to create a unique gift pack for 30 people. I'm on a tight budget, was happy with what we were able to get for the price! Truly is a taste of KY!

Are you visiting our fine city and looking for Kentucky-themed merchandise or souvenirs? Are you a business owner who is making Kentucky-themed swag bags for visiting out-of-town clients? Do you have visitors to your home during Derby (or other occasions) and wish to provide them with a Kentucky-themed shopping experience or gift? Do you need a seasonal or special occasion gift that is Kentucky-themed? If you answered yes to any of these questions, I have just the store for you! A Taste of Kentucky is a gift shop that has been around for 35 years and is chock full of locally-sourced and other Kentucky-themed products! There are Derby-themed gifts, University of Kentucky and University of Louisville-themed gifts, bourbon-themed gifts, food items, glassware and serving pieces, jewelry, t-shirts, lawn flags, and much, much more! Prices are very reasonable and in line with other local gift shops. The staff are super friendly and happy to assist. The store will ship goods anywhere in the US. (There are 2 other locations of this store in town, but this one is close to me and is the one I buy from). Parking is plentiful at this location as it is located in a small strip mall. Do yourself a favor and stop by. Remember to buy local for your shopping needs!

Located at a rundown, low traffic, empty plaza. Looking for gifts that represent the Bluegrass State. Roughly 35% more expensive than elsewhere. Even SDF is cheaper than 'A Taste of Kentucky'. They need to improve their customer skills
