We were lucky to grab a table reservation with fairly short notice. We could only choose outside seating, which turned out to be a blessing.Lou is a delightful little place, a house converted into a restaurant. The interior is cozy and packed with activity. I was glad we were outside because it seemed a bit noisy in there. We were escorted outside to a lovely patio, and to a secluded little area all to ourselves under the shade of a large southern magnolia tree. The table was huge, meant for feasting, and feast, we did.None of us felt like adult beverages, but there was a great selection of NA. We opted to order...the entire menu. All apps and entrees. Seems excessive, and that is how we like it. It was so much fun to get to taste and share everything. We loved the bread and butter so much we ordered another. Some favorites at the table- Crispy rice, lima beans, pickled veg. Service was great food was great.

Farewell, Lou. In your early days, you were a standout, a place where the food truly shined and the atmosphere felt just right. But over time, cracks started to show. The once-great experience began to unravel, starting with inexperienced, young staff who lacked the polish and attention that good service requires. Then came the missteps in menu planning and a clear lack of management direction. Despite the talent in the kitchen and a great space, what was missing was the glue of solid leadership to keep it all together. The restaurant business is tough, and it's easy to find success for a few years. But the true challenge lies in evolving, staying fresh, and keeping the experience both inviting and enjoyable for the long haul. Lou couldn't make that leap. While I'll always cherish the great meals I had here, it's no surprise things ended this way. Here's hoping this is the first domino in the fall of Nashville's overpriced, underwhelming hipster food scene. Time to make way for something new.

Five stars for Lou! A small & quaint restaurant in an older style Nashville house. When the general manager from another notable restaurant (R&D) in Nashville sends you here to eat, you know it has to be good! I love it how the restaurant industry supports each other and contributes to others' success! We had 3 appetizers:bread & butter - typical toasted bread served with whipped butter and flake salt. Grade: Bassorted pickled & fermented vegetables - what a fun dish. Simple pickled assortment of 3 veggies. Contrasts the other dishes on the table. Grade: Bzamorano; raw sheep's milk, pickled mustard seeds. This cheese was perhaps one of the highlights of the meal. Spanish version of the manchengo cheese with slight hint of honey. Grade: AWe ordered 3 main dishes: crispy rice, egg yolk*, pickled currants, mixed seeds, dukkah, lemon Add kale or n'duja at an additional charge for each. Beautifully crafted dish. Similar to the Persian crispy rice dish with a chorizo kind of meat. Grade: A-peruvian lima beans, tomatoes, whipped ricotta, lemon basil, tomato oil. Delicious & comforting dish. Simple clean flavors. Easily another favorite at the table. Grade: Abear creek farms pork loin & kale, dumplings, broth, preserved lemon. A comforting dish. This dish was similar to the Filipino Pork Adobo dish with kale. Grade: B+ We ordered one dessert: chocolate mousse, cherries, vanilla olive oil. Absolutely delicious and fun to eat. The mousse was on the thicker side, which gave it a tooth bite to it. It was rich, but not too sweet! I was a fan! Grade: A-Service was amazing. Our server Margaret was super knowledgeable & welcoming. She surely knew how to provide great customer service. Overall Grade: A-

Went to Lou yesterday for Brunch. I found it to be absolutely delicious! For sure the best BLT I think I've ever had. The garlic scape gremolata on it was so good. The pancake was so yummy! Gotta go back the next time I'm in Nashville. Staff is so friendly. Loved it!!!

I thought the food was delicious and the service was great. It's just really pricey for what it is. $16 for one pancake, even though the pancake was great, is a little much for me personally! The place itself is soooo cute! We were being attacked by cicadas outside however so recommend sitting inside in the summer seasons! Cute little place for sure.

Best breakfast food in Nashville!! The pancake is what you come here for. It's insane. The two eggs I love tooooo!! Also, whatever kind of potato dish they have for brunch you just order it. The restaurant is in such a cute little white house. It's really adorable. The only reason I am not having 5 stars is because sometimes the staff is really slow to come over to your table and kind of just forgets about you. Otherwise, everything is great.

First time at the Lou while visiting a friend in Nashville. Per her recommendation, brunch was best and we had time get the chocolate maple and buckwheat pancake. It did not disappoint. Rich flavor with a custard like center. Wouldn't eat as my whole meal because I love savory dishes, but definitely get as a table pancake!Crispy potato w/confit mushroomsBreakfast sandwich- one of each option Everything was delicious and probably could have done with just one breakfast sandwich + pancake or crispy potato, but sometimes you need to try all the things. Space is small, but quaint so be sure to get reservations for high traffic times.

Coming to Lou for brunch was such an incredible culinary experience. Suggested by a fellow Yelp elite, I finally understand the craze of this place! There is very limited parking on the premises here, but I was lucky to be able to snag a spot. I highly recommend making reservations before coming in here! It's in a old home that was converted to a restaurant, so it's definitely more cozy and upscale vibes.I got three dishes. They are small plates that are made for everyone to share, so I recommend you doing the same. Jammy Eggs (3/5): These are alright, but pretty average soft boiled eggs. I would skip this.Verlaso Lox (3/5): I loved the chilis but again, not too flavorful so I would skip.Fennel Rubbed Bacon (5/5): I'm still dreaming about this. I have never in my life had bacon that tasted so amazing. Please get this! It will blow your mind.Toast with Honey Cream Fraiche (5/5): Who knew toast could be so amazing? The honey cream fraiche really elevates this dish to new heights!Lamb Breakfast Sandwich (5/5): The lamb was perfectly soft and well cooked. The textures and flavors both in the sandwich and side salsa pulled the dish together! I loved it! Chocolate Maple and Buckwheat Pancake (5/5): If you're Bengali and have a malpoa, this has a similar taste. The outside is hard and the inside is so soft. Not your typical pancake but a great one nonetheless! I had an amazing time here. This is the spot for any foodie to come by and check out!

I was excited to try lou but sadly this wasn't my favorite experience food and drink wise. The restaurant itself is cozy and well-decorated, with covered patio seating outdoors. My experience with the staff was excellent and they even offered us a table indoors even though my reservation was for the patio. They also were very accommodating and allowed us to add one person to our table after I called them in advance (they appreciated the heads up!). They only offer natural wines as an alcoholic option, and I just don't like natural wine. It tastes like beer to me and I'm not a fan. We ordered 2 buckwheat pancakes. Sadly one was burned but the other was better. It reminded me of cornbread but with different texture. The syrup and butter were delicious and the pancake wasn't overly sweet. It was the best item I sampled; I just wish one of them wasn't burned. For entree I had the two fried eggs on toast with salsas and a bean purée. The dish was... odd. All of the sandwich and bread served was on Texas toast... not my favorite. And the sauces were ok but lacked flavor. I ate the eggs but left the majority of the dish. Two of my friends ordered the breakfast sandwich and the tomato and bacon special sandwich. The sandwiches were large and sadly came with bread and butter pickles, not dill. Once again, not my favorite (there's a theme here). The sandwiches were large portions, but the little gem salad that two other friends ordered was comically small for $16 with no protein and 6 pieces of lettuce with some dressing. While they liked the salad overall, they were left hungry and feeling that it was too pricey for what they had. I really wanted to love lou, but it wasn't for me.

A wonderful brunch - it hit the spot ! Menu is simple , but great options for everything from savory to sweet. I'd highly recommend- we enjoyed our seats at the bar and chatting with the waitstaff. Everyone was delightful and there is an amazing back patio for dining. Parking is limited , so we found a space along the neighborhood behind the restaurant. I'd give them a hearty visit next time when you're heading to Nashville! PS- Be sure to make reservations in advance and pay attention to Central Time Zone :)
