One of my favorite Scottsdale restaurants! I love the vibe and the food is great! My friend has the beef chimichanga with rice and beans. She gave them 4 stars. Her Patron margarita was just ok...she gave it 3 stars. I felt the same about my Cadillac Margarita. It was pretty mediocre. The chips are light and lightly salted. Loved them and loved the salsas. The hot one was really hot. I don't like paying an extra $3 for an extra basket of chips...oh well...I wish I could remember what I ate! It was just two days ago but I can't remember! I do know that I loved the beans and really enjoyed what I ate.I should also say that I ate here more than 20 years ago and it has the same charm now that it had then. I hate the way Scottsdale has changed but love the fact that this place remains constant. It's got authentic Southwest decor. No pretense. There's a bar and a few seating areas so it doesn't feel crowded.I'll eat here when I return to AZ.

The food here is very good, but the decor is seriously lacking! I think I counted three different colors of light bulb. It was very distracting. The wait for this restaurant on a weeknight was astronomical, and I don't think it was worth it. The service was good, and the food was quick to come out- don't get me wrong- and the margaritas were nice but I've had similar Margaritas anywhere else. Parking is available a block away in public paid parking lots. There are lots of choices when it comes to restaurants in Old Town, and this is fine but I don't think that it's worth the hype.

Felt like a very solid Mexican restaurant - which is great! Everything I ordered was very good , but flavors were not out of this world. Nice sized portions. Chips and salsa were top. There were two types of salsa, and they both had good flavor and were nice and fresh. Was a little cavernous where we were, I imagine it can get quite loud when completely full. But it was cool, and easy to chat with others.Very attentive group, and didn't wait long for anything.

Wanted to go somewhere new to celebrate my husband's baptism. Los Olivos is Family owned and operated for seventy years -3 generations. The old-town Scottsdale location was originally built many years ago by their grandfather, Tomas Corral. One of the most exotic restaurants in Arizona lets diners sit underneath dozens of teardrop-shaped glass windows, and it's an unforgettable experience. Their motto is "Esta es su casa y vuelvan pronto," which means "This is your home, please return soon."The waiter was very attentive and kept my water glass full. I also really enjoyed the hot salsa that came with the chips. I had the fish tacos which were loaded with fish! They were delicious and thankfully not fried. All around great experience.

My second time at Los Olivos was just as great as the first. I had the lunch special with a sour cream enchilada with green sauce and beef taco. It comes with rice and beans. It was hot and delicious, full of flavor! The restaurant wasn't very busy and the food was served quickly and with friendly, attentive service. I also tried the fried ice cream this time, which is fantastic. I highly recommend saving room for dessert. I sat in a different dining room this time. I love how each dining room has a unique, vibrant atmosphere with awesome art on the walls. Great vibes all around! Again, I highly recommend dining here...definitely one of the best Mexican restaurants in town.

After searching high and low for a clean and open Mexican restaurant to eat at we landed in Scottsdale and found this place and all I can say was that we would've been better off going through a Taco Bell drive thru for food. What you're paying for is location and the ambiance. My boyfriend ordered a carne asada burrito that had no flavor to the meat and absolutely nothing inside it such as pico de gallo or anything I don't see how they could advertise it as a burrito the meat was soft but way overpriced for the lack there of. I ordered a chili relleno with beans and rice and the cheese to chili didn't work. There was 90% cheese to the small chili and my rice was crunchy and overcooked I don't see how the cook could've sent the food out like that ? They obviously don't take pride in the food here but don't have a problem changing $20 for a burrito that's just meat wrapped in a tortilla. I can't recommend this restaurant there's lots of other restaurants out there for way less and who cook with love. The staff was ok so my only reason I gave them a one star was on the customer service.

What's with the awful brown goop on the chili relleno and tamale? Looks like baby diarrhea. Just nasty and went uneaten The fajitas were by far the worst I've eaten. Shrimp cooked to pencil eraser state. Beef is so overcooked that its close to jerky $70 for nasty food. Went elsewhere for tacos afterwards $18

food is pretty good. Nothing to jump up and down about.Waitress was loaded with perfume and it transfered to plates, cups, etc. Why in the hell food handlers do not know better. Don't know if I'd come back.
