We visited on a Tuesday at 11:30 am and they were moderately crowded. The waitstaff was courteous and the drinks were strong! We had a sangria swirl and a margarita on the rocks. Very good. The food was also really delicious. The fish meal was something with AZUL in the name. The lemon butter sauce was SO GOOD and the crab on top made it perfect. 9.5 out of 10. The chicken chimichanga was really good as well. 8 out of 10.

It's hard to review a Mexican national chain restaurant when you live in Austin, which is dotted with authentic, home-grown, family Tex-Mex restaurants. But, when in Houston with a bunch of family members, and you aren't paying, you go where you're told. I actually found it difficult to choose off the menu since, for instance, they only offer basic enchilada sauces. No Ranchero, no Chipotle, no Swizas, no Mole...They offer seafood, but only cheap-o Tilapia and no Veracruz sauce...chewy Fajita meats...What they do right is homemade flour tortillas; warm, fresh red salsa along with a creamy avocado, with fresh corn chips; and queso served with fried flour tortilla wedges. I ordered a combo plate with 2 cheese enchiladas and a crispy beef taco. The crispy taco was of the ordinary ground beef type with lettuce, tomato, and cheese--you can't go wrong with that. The cheese enchiladas were stuffed with melted, stringy yellow cheese, and topped with a chili sauce. They were great. Instead of the usual rice and refried beans, I elected to get 2X Borracho beans with bacon pieces (I usually eat those later, like a leftover soup) which were delicious, if a bit salty. They also offer some Americanized dishes like fried Chimichangas. I'd probably be happy scarfing tons of chips with both salsas, and an a la carte cheese enchilada. They offer HUGE platters of food that would be a challenge for one person to finish in a sitting; I highly recommend sharing a meal. Btw, if it's someone's birthday, they do the whole dessert-and-sing thing, which is fun. It's obviously a popular place--we were there at about 11:30am on a Monday, and it was already crowded; plus we weren't the only large group. The service was very adequate. I describe it that way because our waiter attended to our requests and got our orders right, but no smiles or indication that he liked his job and wanted to be there, waiting on us (and we are a nice, polite bunch). He did a good job, though, since he was juggling 2 very large tables along with 2 and 4 tops. If you're looking for safe, unimaginative, plentiful Mexican food, this would be a place you'd probably enjoy. As for me, I'll be trying the next hole-in-wall in Austin or elsewhere.

The food was very good. They didn't have a broad selection of beers on draft( Should have an IPA) however the quail and enchilada made up for that it was an excellent meal.

The food here is just okay. There's nothing extravagant about it. I got the beef fajitas & they just tasted average. Jorge took very good care of our table of 11. Was very attentive & fast. Never had to ask for refills.

The food and service is excellent here. I used to come here every 2 weeks but now I only come 1x a month or 2 because of my current diet. But I always find something here that is keto friendly or even paleo friendly. For those who are currently on a diet the only things you should omit while eating here is the starchy stuff and y'all know what that is....if not, try to not eat the rice or tortillas. Enjoy a little but not the whole amount that they give you. The last time we were here we ordered the special Sizzling Delicioso platter for one person. If you're a small eater like my husband and I then this is plenty of food. They give a lot of food for your money!! It has chicken and Steak fajitas, grilled fish, shrimp and a piece of their wonderful braised pork topped with a grilled jalapeño! Hot stuff that jalapeño!! The atmosphere is completely Spanish inspired. I love eating here and I really loved my server she was amazing! I posted her pic in my pics below. Love love love Los Cucos Jersey Village. Want a great Mexican restaurant you must go to this one!

My family and some friends went to this location and for me it's mediocre. My wife and I ordered the parillada platter for two which has brochette, sausage, 1/3 baby back ribs, and from what I can tell a 1/2 lb of beef and chicken fajitas. It's a good portion for two people. The beans are flavorful and the rice was moist but for me a little too much cumin. The brochette shrimp were decent. IMO I think the shrimp was a little rubbery. I was disappointed with the ribs because the were burnt and you can tell they served us the beginning/end portion because the meat was tough and hardly any meat on them. The fajitas were so so, nothing special about them, both beef and chicken. The price was $52 for two which I think is fair for the portion you get however, there's other texmex restaurants that have much better entrees and are more authentic. Aside from that the ambiance was good and our waitress was on point with her service. More than likely I won't be back. Unless somebody else is paying, lol.

Simply enjoy everything in this restaurant. The food , the service and the atmosphere. Really very good Mexican restaurant. The waiter was so friendly and professional. The chips and salsa to start were really good. I loved the thin crispy tortilla chips. We ordered the chile con queso, beef fajitas and chicken enchiladas. I recommend the queso and steak fajitas, we will go back to have again. We also had margaritas, one gold and one regular, very good and strong. The service was so quick, everything we ordered came to the table within a few minutes of ordering it.

QUAIL on the menu, yay!!! Okay, wow, we loved the chips and salsas. The chips were thin and crispy and while I gravitated one way, he went for the avocado and dragged that across the table to sit in front of his spot. So much for sharing. Understand that I would come here to eat if for no other reason than the complimentary chips and salsa. It was his first visit and he had no clue what to order. I decided to make it easy by getting a plate of fried shrimp for him, which I knew would make him happy, while I ordered the honey glazed quail with a cheese enchilada. I figured if we tried that and he liked it, then that would speak well for next time when he can try the chili relleno and other enchiladas. He said his fried shrimp were fine (translate as okay but not his favorite). My dish was by far the winner!!! You cannot go wrong when serving two honey-glazed quail served on a bed of grilled onions on a hot iron skillet, and then pair that with one of the best-tasting cheese enchiladas I've had in a long time.We finished by sharing a dessert order of both churros and vanilla ice cream, and the combination cake which is a layered concoction of Tres Leche, chocolate and cheesecake.I'd like to give them 4.5 stars but I have to make a decision. I think the chips and salsa bounce this whole thing up to a "5".
