One of my go-to places in ktown during the winter time for whenever i am craving korean seafood jjamppong! Been here a plethora of times and always such a great place to eat and chill with friends and family! They have combinations of the seafood jjamppong and black bean noodles. They also offer a bunch of Korean appetizers like dumplings, pahjeons, and more. They have various levels of spiciness that you can add onto your noodles and they even have a special challenge for the most extreme level and if you complete it, you get a picture on the wall. Service is always good and our waiter is always a guy who likes to do magic tricks and fold origami whenever we visit! He does that with every table, so you get a little bit of a show as well with your meal! Chill place don't hesitate to go.Parking is valet, which is around $3 or you can get lucky with street parking.

3.8/5Loved their concept of having different spice levels. The cost is very very friendly and the service makes you feel like regulars. I loved the environment as it felt like a hole in the wall! The food itself was alright. It's good but I've definitely had better. If you're a jjampong person, I'd just order the jjajang.

Good:Came here for the jjajangmen, which admittedly was good and tasty as was the kimchi. Service was friendly and efficient.Bad:The seafood quality was questionable and the dumplings were not good. Restaurant is dirty, worn down, beat up and pretty gross for a restaurant. They need a MAJOR cleaning and renovation. If it weren't for disrepair this place is in, I'd give them a better rating.

Korean Chinese food is fire, I eat it all the time in Queens so I'm pretty familiar with quality.I honestly did not like the Jjamppong. The soup was good but everything in it tasted old and chewy. The seafood lacked the flavor of the soup possibly because it wasn't fresh? And the noodles had the same problem, it just didn't absorb anything because of how thick it was.The jjajangmyeon was good, the sauce was done right but needed more pork and onions. Again I'm not a fan of how thick the noodles were, but that's a total preference. I would order the jjajangmyeon again considering how affordable it is! In total, the two dishes were only $25!

AC: One of our go to spots in Ktown! We usually get the champong (spicy noodle soup) and the Jjajangmyun, but this time we got 1 jjajang and 1 combo jjajang which was a bit smaller but came with a side of gyoza and tangseyeuk :) it was all so yummy! I definitely give this a strong 4 stars as it is a hole in the wall with ktown charm, and a 5 star review when the magician waiter is there! He is so entertaining and wholesome, we love seeing him! Please tip him well as he goes above and beyond and brings light to the space!

Zzamong -- interesting name but don't let the preceding "zz" doze you off. I was knocked out off my feet, in a good way, on the great experience.Although OC has enough Korean noodle houses. We drove across town after hearing about this mom-pop shop. The restaurant is small, quaint with outdated decor. It's also located in small (kinda rundown area) with limited parking whereas a non-descriptive "vendor" requests money to park. I've watched some cars were charged and two cars just pulled into the lot. Upon entering, we were quickly greeted by a very funny and witty server/owner! He's energetic and has a few tricks up his sleeve that's he not shy in showing to the patrons. We say a wall full of happy (but maybe hard headed folks) whom claimed victory eating/finishing a bowl of extra fire spice! I'm a wimp so stayed at level-3 spice which burned my tongue!!!!We ordered the classic black noodles bowls - vegan and one with light spicy (level 0.5, yes, it's 0.5 for the novices).I love my generous spicy seafood noodles! Unbelievably, good with strong base and good amount of squid, shrimps, clams and mussels!!! I was beyond stuffed but managed to eat a couple fried dumplings (courteous of Yelp checkin offer)!!!

Came here on a Friday night close to 8pm and service was super quick and friendly! We ordered the vegan black bean noodles and the beef broccoli. Both dishes were fantastic! There is valet parking in the plaza for $3.

Zzamong is my favorite place to get jjamppong and other Korean-Chinese dishes in Ktown. It's a classic, no-frills place that reminds me of the places I went to growing up. Plus, it's still relatively affordable--I had a bowl of seafood jjamppong and with tax + tip, it all came down to a little under $20.I'm a big fan of the seafood jjamppong here because of the generous portion of seafood & noodles and flavorful, spicy broth. You can make it as spicy as you want too--including their spice challenge if you order level 10. Even as someone who loves spicy food everywhere I go, I usually stick to ~4-5/10, but all the power to you if you go 5+!The service here is very kind too, and parking is pretty easy.Definitely check out Zzamong!

saw this place on YouTube few times and i was craving for some korean black bean noodles. Took my mom here for easy lunch. This is ain't no fancy place, just a small hole in the wall korean Chinese cuisine place. I did the spicy black bean noodle challenge with is a level 10 ghost peppers.. At first, when yoj start eating, you can feel your lips burning; it's after you finish the noodles that's when you start feeling the heat! the food was delicious! I had runny nose for about 5mins then it was gone. After you finish the challenge you have to bring your finished bowl at the counter, and they will take a photo of you and you can post it on the wall where others have successfully finished the challenge. Beat part; if you finish it, the meal is free! Would I do it again? yes!
