I was introduced to this place by a friend and this has been our go to spot whenever we are in the area! Great quality fish and yummy starters. It's a chill spot to come and dine. Vibes were great. Service was great as well. Staff were friendly and I didn't feel rushed to finish the food. Chef would time is perfectly on when to deliver the next roll.

I wish I had more pictures of the hand rolls because they were absolutely delicious! I've tried other handroll spots, but the nori wrap on these are perfect. The crunch and they are not chewy, they are the perfect consistency and the rice and fish taste very fresh. Sitting at the bar is a pleasant experience as they pay attention to the timing of your eating and prepare the rest of your order as you eat. Perfect place for a date night!

We were looking to order something on the healthier side but wanted to try something different from our local sushi spots in Long Beach. They also had to offer some type of delivery option. After a bit of Yelping, I found Yunomi Handroll in DTLA. Lucky for us, delivery was available via Uber Eats.We ordered one, four cut-roll + sashimi box; two, five cut-roll + sashimi box; seaweed salad, cucumber salad, spicy albacore crispy rice and the green beans. Everything came nicely packaged, especially the cut-roll boxes (see pic); cute boxes, with everything organized, all in its little compartment or cup. Nothing spilled or leaked or sloshed around on the ride over here. Highly satisfying to the type-a crowd or those who don't like their food to touch! (Such as myself, lol) The seaweed and cucumber salads were for me, I typically love them and I always order them if I am eating sushi. Unfortunately for me, I didn't care for either this time. I can't quite put my finger on it but the seaweed salad just tasted like grocery store or pre-made salad level quality. The cucumber salad felt like it was soaking too long in the dressing and was overly sweet for my taste. We both had one bite but neither of us cared to finish them. Other than that, the crispy rice was fantastic! I imagine it's even better when it's not delivery: fresh albacore, perfectly bite-sized and the onion topping is addictive. The cut-roll boxes came with all the sauces and sides and toppings, fish was fresh and everything was neatly rolled and cut. Beautiful presentation. Between two people, we smashed through them but had one left over for a midnight snack. Green beans are also yummy, again I imagine better coming fresh from the actual restaurant. I just wish they weren't fried. This place is now going to be on our regular sushi rotation, and maybe one day we will go in person to check out the restaurant itself and try the crispy rice fresh.

So this is located in the arts district so finding parking can an atrocious experience. The lots and valet are expensive imo so we circled around for 10 minutes until we got lucky found a metered spot right nearby. The interior is nice and welcoming, it's situated like a bracket shaped sushi bar counter. Their menu has some hand roll sets or you can order a la carte. I opted for the a la carte since most of the ones I wanted were specialty which were not part of the sets. I ended up ordering the blue crab, scallop, albacore, soft shell crab and yunomi special (spicy albacore, shrimp tempura, crunchy onions, truffle soy). I was a little put off when ordering with the waiter cuz he was like I don't recommend more than 3-4 rolls and tried to show me how "big" they were. Which were like typical hand roll size but I went ahead with the 5. Makes no sense since they offer 6 hand roll sets? As for the fish, I thought majority were just ok. The scallop one had way too much mayo, I prefer just more pure tasting ones that aren't masked with excessive sauce. The soft shell and yunomi were prob standouts. Also they didn't seem to do a good job wrapping cuz there would always be seaweed sticking out from the ends and would break off. Compared to Kazunori and Rol handbar, I rank this place last. Expensive going a la carte and there was really nothing exceptional about this place.

This place exceeded my expectations!I walked in without expectations to be honest. They are five hand roll for $26 is a steal and must try. It had all my favorite fish. Super simple for lunch but very filling. The chefs look at you to see how fast you eat and give you the next pieces accordingly. They're super friendly and very kind. :) the ambience is modern and simple, which I love. I used to go to cause all the time, but I like YUNOMI's SEAWEED. It's salted like how I like my seaweed :) if you're looking for some salted seaweed hand rolls this is the only place that I've been able to find. Everywhere else has the non salted nori. DEFINITELY COMING BACK AGAIN :)

Dined here again but this time we sat at the bar for the handroll experience. My wife loves KazuNori so we were excited to give this place a shot. We arrived once it opened and we got seated right away.My wife ordered the 5 handroll set plus an additional blue crab roll. I got their 6 handroll set and a beer. My first issue is that they do not have draft beer - only canned or bottled. Variety is good though. The handrolls themselves were inferior to KazuNori. Also, we both ordered non spicy set but somehow they kept serving my wife spicy. We let that go though because she had already been served 2 rolls. We also were never served one of the rolls until we flagged the waiter that one was missing. `

I love a good hand roll. Comprised of a few components but can be poorly executed. You've heard of the competition... KazuNori and Rol HandRoll Bar. Where does Yunomi fit in?I think there's enough here that makes them stand apart and have their own identity, while still remaining a true hand roll bar experience. The menu has several options for starters and apps to get your appetite working before diving into hand rolls. I got the Brussels sprouts and tempura rock shrimp. Both came out hot, fresh and very flavorful. The sprouts were crispy and the sweet soy sauce gave it the umami to make these addicting. Tempura shrimp appetizer was crunchy and coated in a spicy mayo sauce. For handrolls, I went with the set of 5 and added on the Yunomi special, negi toro, and unagi. While other handrolls usually serve the fish diced or chopped up, Yunomi's fish is portioned into strips. This style gave the hand rolls more bite and a different mouthfeel and a more substantial feeling bite. The quality of fish is standard and didn't taste any more or less fresh than others. It's harder to judge freshness when fish is prepared in this way. Sushi rice didn't really stand out and was more of filler instead of being a shining element. Seaweed also standard. Several handrolls came with cracked or ripped nori. The unique thing about this hand roll bar is that they use Korean seaweed for the spicy hand rolls. Was interesting to try but wasn't a fan of how the salt and sesame flavor masked the flavor of the filling. Service could have been better. My glass of water had a bunch of black floaters. I brought it to the attention of one of the employees and there was no apology. He just poured a new glass and said "inspect it make sure it's good". That's one of the only things about the experience that just didn't sit right. There were also several small fruit flies going around while eating which isn't pleasant. Overall, I would give Yunomi another chance but maybe try another location. Food was good but overall vibe at this one could have been better.

Amazon hand roll. I only had avocado cucumber hand roll and it was good. The Brussel sprouts and shishito peppers are delicious. There are only bar seats no dining tables and you have to wait until all parties arrived to be seated. Overall I had a pretty good experience.

First time to try handroll bar and was pleasantly surprised by quality of rolls. Korean style Nori seaweed is used for rolls, nice crunch and not soggy. It takes a while to get the rolls which are served one roll at a time( we ordered 6 roll sampler ) We saw other parties ordering fried rock shrimp and ordered as well to fill the gap of waiting for our next roll. It was fantastic! We also ordered pale ale from Japan with a blue label. Delicious.Ambiance is nice, matching art district vibe and barista staffs are all friendly and welcoming. LA experience and nice venue to catch a lunch and browse galleries and bookstores in the area. Happy.

We used to eat here all the time when we lived in the arts district and regularly try to return because we love the food so much. Dinner gets super popular so come early to get on the waiting list, especially if you have a party more than 2. Obviously food menu is great - can't go wrong. Order the umami IPA.
