Yunomi Handroll

You know me - Sushi has my heart! The handrolls are CRAZY good. I ordered the spicy albacore and spicy yellowtail, as well as a plain yellowtail. Definitely go with the spicy, otherwise there isn't a ton of flavor. But oh my, they are delicious. The seaweed is super crispy with a hint of salt and everything tastes fresh. The fish itself is just meh - but that works well in a hand roll. The rice is warm, and the fish is cold and it's all perfect. I ordered 3 and that was good for lunch. (Of course I was hungry 3 hours later, but that's sushi)I didn't care for the edamame. The green beans looked delicious and I regret not trying them out. The ambience is good. Service is fine. They are helpful, but not overly bothersome, which I like. If you like to have someone check on you a lot and really "wait" on you, the bar isn't the place for that. The food comes out quick. There is a different menu for the table service, so I can't speak to that. But if you want quick and delicious handrolls at a decent price (my meal was $30 with tip for 3 handrolls and a split edamame), I highly recommend You-Know-Me!

WOW. I really loved the food here. I'm a Kazunori girlie, but I might have to bump it down on the list for Yunomi Handroll. Ok, that might be too much. Kazunori has classic handrolls that are great quality and simple, while Yunomi has specialty items that are fun and delicious. Different vibes but they're both up there.I met a friend here for dinner here on a Tuesday (they validate parking in the Culver Stairs parking lot btw). I was running pretty late and the wait time kept going up, but I would say that we were seated pretty quickly compared to the anticipated wait time.Like other handroll places, you sit around a sushi bar and watch them make your order. One thing I really liked about this place more than Kazunori is their other food items. There were appetizers that we ordered to share, like the brussel sprouts, crispy rice, and rock shrimp. All the items were so good, but I will be subbing out the crispy rice and rock shrimp next time to try other apps. The star of the trio were the brussel sprouts. Roasted to perfection - tender inside and crispy outside, with a tangy, sweet glaze. For mains, I got three special handrolls: the Yunomi Special (Spicy Albacore, Shrimp Tempura, Crunchy Onions, Truffle Soy), Negi Toro (Chopped Blue Fin (Spain) Fatty Tuna with Green Onions), and soft shell crab. Everything was delicious and paired well with the sauces and seasonings it came with. I don't usually go for the cooked/fried rolls, but The Yunomi Special was delicious, as was the soft shell crab. For the Yunomi Special, the batter on the tempura was light and crispy, paired with the spicy albacore and truffle soy to give a lot of textural variety and layers to the flavor. While the soft shell crab roll was yummy, it lacked depth of flavor. The Negi Toro was great. The nori was crispy, the rice was warm, and the toro mixed with green onions was a classic flavor profile you can't go wrong with.I'll have to come back and try the other menu items. 10/10 would recommend for someone who likes sushi and hand rolls, especially specialty ones. It's a cute interior with casual dining, but also feels like a cool experience. Not great for large groups if you're going to sit at the bar, but I believe they have outdoor table seating as well.

I LOVE Yunomi! After trying the DTLA location, I was so excited to find another good hand roll spot in LA but it was so far from me. I'm so glad they opened a location in Culver City. The hand rolls are great, the staff is wonderful and it's not loud inside. I will note that you can only order hand rolls if you sit at the bar and nigiri if you sit outside.There's never a crazy wait either!

I cant say enough about the amazing customer service in this Downtown Culver City gem Everyone who works there is knowledgeable and friendly! They are quick with getting your orders and getting you the best hand-roll in town. Make sure to ask the chef's if they have a signature roll you can try The modern architecture and music set the mood for any occasion along with being incredibly clean. The fish is beyond fresh and that along with the easy to maneuver menu is what will hit you first when you sit down.10/10 will always recommend to sushi lovers looking for a new spot to trust!

I had the 5-roll set - tuna, albacore, salmon, scallops, and shrimp tempura. Each roll was better than the previous one, which I didn't think was possible. The Brussels sprouts were crispy & delicious. The sparkling yuzu beverage was refreshing & a perfect compliment. The atmosphere & service were both top notch, and I cannot wait to return!

OMG - the most delicious yumminess. Near perfect casual eating experience. Easy online wait list for only bar seating. The loveliest servers and perfect handrolls delivered one by one to your spot. Want to go again and again.

This is for the to go Box portions: Whoever designed this box deserves a raise because it's the only impressive thing here. The sushi? Bland beyond belief, even after drowning it in all six sauces they threw in to distract me. The fish was practically non-existent, and the pieces were so tiny I thought I ordered a sushi sampler for ants. For $26, I expected way more fish -- not just rice rolled up with my disappointment. Save your money and your appetite.

The food is amazing, each Handroll is comparable to that of Kazu Nori. The albacore handroll is my personal favorite as it contains insatiably fresh fish. The service is great they move very quickly you can easily be out of there in twenty minutes. The ambiance is amazing the inside is decorated minimally but it's well lit, provides a nice feel for lunch. They do dim the lights when it comes time for dinner but they don't dim the lights enough so please consider dimming the lights more during dinner.

I've been ordering to go from here for months and it's been extremely good today. I finally got to go and eat in person and it was even better. The ambience is nice clean simple the staff is great and fast and the fish is so fresh. everything is so well done I will continue to share about it And I will be back.

Amazing experience from the time we walked in! Service was attentive and personable. We were seated at the bar and able to watch the chefs assembling hand rolls.We started with the rock shrimp tempura (10/10) the shrimp was big, juicy, and perfectly fried. Then we shared with 6 set and added on a softshell crab and unagi handroll. It was perfect spread for us both. The restaurant is bustling and modern. Restrooms are located behind a curtain. Overall, if you're exploring the downtown area this is the perfect spot to stop for a meal. The softshell crab handroll is a must try!
