This is a very nice, polished sushi spot on Ventura. A step up in price, and a couple steps up in quality, from the usual in the neighborhood. Highlights:- Clear mushroom soup was amazing, an excellent way to start. Very light and very flavorful.- Sunomono (cucumber salad) is very light and clean tasting here. Do not expect a vinegar bomb.- They had a number of nigiri specials. We tried the Hokkaido Yellowtail and the Ora King Salmon. They were quite nice, expertly cut and subtly sauced.- Both fancy rolls were great - the Garlic Albacore roll and the Yellowtail Cilantro roll. Both had plenty of flavor but were not heavy handed at all. The serrano chile on the Yellowtail Cilantro roll sounded fearsomely spicy, but was actually nicely restrained. Both rolls were carefully and delicately presented.Service was very on point. Even for lunch on a Friday, they asked if we had a reservation and only had the sushi bar available for 2 as walk-ins - this was no problem at all,, but do keep it in mind.Out the door for 2 people $140. Worth it IMO.

Tried a different sushi spot in the valley where we usually frequent Kabosu and sushi Yuzu.I would recommend making a reservation if you can if you want to sit inside. I checked on Wednesday for a Saturday openings and the whole thing was free, so I didn't bother to make a reservation. When we got there Saturday before 6 pm, they said no inside seating was available and that they're booked up. Though it didn't seem true unless half the list didn't show up to their times while we were there. So we agreed to wait for an outside table if it opens up and it did after 10 mins of waiting. They turned on the heat lamps thankfully. We ordered so many items. The one item I wish I took. Picturing was the scallop 2 piece sushi. Omg mouth instantly melted w it. I'll say the rolls I think were average. I love the fish but I prefer kabosu's style of rolls that are bigger with the larger fish to rice ratio. I will also give the leg up to kabosu for the sashimi. I wasn't a huge fan of the salmon carpaccio that came w arugula and mushrooms. Service was great though! The waiter knew to bring out 2 dishes at a time for the limited table space we had but that really helped us digest and eat more. I'm glad I tried this place due to TikTok but I may go back to kabosu. My friend said she would rather go here so I guess it's all up to you to try it!

I love Yume! Make a reservation in advance because it can get really busy. If you want good recommendations / daily specials sit at the bar and ask the sushi chefs. This place is a really good alternative to Fumi or Shibuya (without the wait if you make a reservation) My favorite rolls are the Yellowtail Cilantro and spicy Albacore. Get the spicy tuna crispy rice and SKIP the avocado crispy rice (just tastes like guacamole). The miso soup is really flavorful I like to add mushrooms.Street parking (meter).

We wanted to try a sushi place that we haven't had before and we were starving after a shopping spree at Rodeo Drive. What can I say, spending money makes me really hungry! We got here close to 2pm and got seated right away. Parking can be difficult but found a parking structure across the street. We got the dream roll and citrus roll to share so we can both taste the roll. The rolls here are smaller than most places. Both rolls are citrusy. We initially dipped them in ponzu sauce which is also citrus base. The price is comparable to other sushi places. Service is great. They don't serve sodas though except Japanese Soda. Highly recommended.

This place is amazing! I tried actual truffle for the first time and it literally melted in my mouth. Really light too like it wasn't over powered. It's perfect for date night or family dinner. It is a bit expensive but again I feel like it's worth it because you do get the top quality food. It also looks presentable as well. Everyone was so kind. Our server Aljon was really kind and kept checking in on us. The sushi chef was also helpful and gave us recommendations as well. Highly recommend to everyone

When you go out to sushi- THIS is what you want. The restaurant itself is gorgeous and cozy! We made a reservation at the sushi bar and we were in and out of there in 45 min. The service was immaculate. Diane was our server and she was on it. The food was the best sushi I have ever had hands down. I will be dreaming about that Scallop Nigiri!

I recently visited Yume Sushi Bar, and I'm so glad I did! The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, with a sleek, modern design that still feels comfortable and relaxed. The service was excellent from start to finish - our server was attentive without being intrusive, and the staff seemed genuinely passionate about the food. We walked in without a reservation on a Saturday night and we were seated promptly. Parking can be tricky since it's a busy street. We started with the spicy tuna crispy rice, beet salad, and miso mushroom soup. For sushi, we ordered the yellowtail cilantro roll, the Seabass roll, creamy salmon hand rolls, and a baked crab roll. Our favorites were definitely the yellowtail cilantro roll and the seabass roll, they were so unique! Thanks yume!

Hubby and I feel so lucky to have found one of our favorite neighborhood sushi places near our home! We celebrated National Wife Day here and we were both surprised that there was not a single dish that was below average. I wouldn't say it's inexpensive though, as our total came out to about $180 for the 2 of us. The service was great because they were so well-staffed for dinner. There were plenty of waiters and waitresses both inside and outside the restaurant. Ambiance is super chic ;) We started off with fresh oysters and crispy rice spicy tuna. 5/5. Then we got amaebi (blue shrimp upgrade) and the fried head was soo delicious. Hotate was good too. 5/5. We then got the octopus carpaccio (4/5) and the yellowtail cilantro roll (5/5). Lastly, we were full but everything was so good that we decided to try one more signature dish! So we had the white fish escabeche and let me tell you, it's a 7/5. We loved the simplicity and elegance of this dish hitting all the right notes. See you again very soon Yume!
