I love this place! The interior feels nice; service is friendly and the food comes out at a reasonable time. I've been here twice, and both times were a delight. I love getting the combo, and you get to choose any tofu soups on the menu (plus spice level). It comes with plenty of delicious banchan (side dishes): kimchi, cucumber kimchi, seaweed, bean sprouts, etc. You also get the option of choosing white or brown rice (which is the Korean purple rice). Tteokbokki (rice cake dish) was delicious, too. This place can get very busy at night, on weekends, and on holidays. Parking lot can get full, as it's in a shared plaza. The wait is worth it though when you're craving tofu soup.

Lunch Combo: Stone Pot Rice and Oyster Tofu pot; All food items are Sweet! Over using sugar on everything! 1)Stone Pot Rice: 2-starRice is not solid, and the bottom of the pot cooked the rice soft without crispy texture as it's supposed to be It's served w/various veggie yet just a tiny little portion of beef in it. A fried egg served on the top, yet it did not distribute flavors to the rice. Overall it's no flavor. There's Korean style hot sauce bottle on aside, it's not really spicy.2). Tofu pot: 2.5/starServed in a small pot is very tender fresh, I ordered to cook w/oyster. I can barely find Osteria in it...3)Side dishes(Bun/Chen): 4-star5 diff appetizer dishes are the actual star of my meal!Irs all marinated in Korean style chili paste. Diced Cucumber, Kim Chi, Bean Sprouts, Seaweed, Squid.Services: 1 waitress came to greet me, but very limited suggestion she could provide based on the menu. The other waitress seems to be hesitated to serve, as all she's doing is to chat w/ the other waiter guy, who's acting arrogant wrapping twisting some rolls out of plastic roll... keeps chatting w/the waitress but no serving. He's acting more like a manager or owner or what?!The Espanic guy serving appetizer is nice and he's actually working other than other servers

Finally, I came here! The best LA tofu soup!! I always heard the tofu soup here is great!I ordered Beef & SeafoodTofu Soup It has shrimp, white shell, beef, tofu! The bowl is full of ingredients! The tofu is really slippery! Very young!! Smoother than my face. The soup tastes very delicious! Oyster Tofu Soup I love oysters! It's full of oysters! There's a lot down there, too!The taste of the soup is the umami taste of oysters! Tofu is also tender and smooth! Each soup is paired with rice (purple and white rice!) I ordered both bowls of soup with medium spicy! I don't think it's spicy for me!Like to eat spicy can try a more spicy grade! GalbiVery juicy!A full plate! The meat is very tender!A mouthful of soup and a mouthful of meat! So happy! Pork KatsuThis pork chop is really a surprise!Very crispy! It smells so good! The sauce is plum sauce! Sour and sweet!Very fresh! It's not greasy! Their side dishes are fresh! It's delicious! Especially that kelp! It's not in any other house! And sprouts are also delicious Their home is mainly decorated with wood! Eating in it feels like being in nature! I'm in a good mood! There are also many traditional Korean doll decorations and paintings! Great atmosphere! the clerk said there would be a lot of people coming to the store for dinner in the evening! Sometimes there is a queue! That's why they set up hot tea for everyone outside! That's so sweet.

Been coming here since I was a little kid; first with my parents and now with sister or husband. Service has always been consistently nice, friendly and fast. They have remodeled once since long time ago. Food has been consistent too. Ban Chan side dishes include seaweed, marinated squid, kimchi, bean sprouts, and pickled cucumbers. Tofu soup combos are the real deal, with a few bucks cheaper during lunch special on weekdays from 11a-230p. Food quality is decent. They offer refills on the ban Chan side dishes. Pros:-consistent friendly and fast service-decent food quality -yummy ban Chan side dishes with refills -purple brown rice is good -tofu soups are good with variety -free raw egg to put in tofu soup -two coed restrooms that are clean but located in the back. One of them is for handicapped -free parking in shared plaza lot -variety of spice levels Cons:-went recently and they messed up our orders. Swapped mine and my husband tofu soups but it's okay, mistakes happen and they do look the same if the toppings are hidden inside-can have a wait during busy times. First come first service with waiting list to write names down

Long gone are the days when eating at Tofu House was justifiable. Prices have increased substantially. The BBQ Beef Rib + Tofu combo was $36.99 and the Bulgogi Beef + Tofu combo was $29.99. There's inflation and then there's pure absurdity. The short ribs were good, but you only get about 5 or 6 pieces, if that (see photos). Not sure how sensible it is to pay what you're paying for that. The Bulgogi was jerky dry and disappointing to say the least. Although there was no wait when our party arrived at 6pm, the queue grew once we left. The service was lacking. They seem to be well staffed, but employees are unattentive and only assist once you're luckily enough to flag them down. The restaurant is clean and well kept. However, I won't be returning to another tofu house due to the fact that you can prepare the same meal at home for much less but tastier.

I have not been here in years and the entire interior had changed. No more aquarium and it seems like the staff had changed also. Service is still good and the food tastes just as good as before. I had ordered the combo with clam tofu medium spice level with bulgogi, along with extra clam tofu. All were packed well and delicious. There were four side dish items: the cucumber kimchi, regular kimchi, bean sprouts and the kelp salad. All the flavors were point on. I highly recommend this place for great tofu soups. Thanks Young Dong Tofu House team for making every dish right and packing it very well!! We'll be back for more!!

Always crave something hot and spicy on a cold day and given how cold ifs been in LA recently we had to come to young dong. Do expect a wait if you come during meal times. On a Saturday night we waited around 40 minutes before getting seated. For the number of parties ahead of us it was pretty quick to be honest. We had around 15 parties ahead of us and for the amount of time we waited it was reasonable. Interior is lit with ambient lighting combined with traditional Korean decor which I can appreciate. Service is fast and the manager checked on us in the middle of the meal to make sure everything was going well. Bulgogi 5/5 good flavor and you get a good amount of meat. Mix in the caramelized onion on the bottom for a great bite. Beef ribs 10/5 so so good. For the price I feel that you do get your moneys worth. There's a good 10+ pieces on the plate. It's more on the well done side but I personally love charred pieces on my ribs so I didn't mind that one bit. Beef and seafood soup 10/5 probably one of the best beef and seafood tofu soups I've had at a tofu house in a while. Really flavorful and the seafood is fresh as well. You get a raw egg on the side to break into the soup. Sausage soup 4/5 interesting pairing but I liked the spam and sausages in the soup. Again, very flavorful. Good addition to the combination meat meals or just as delicious on its own. Banchan 4/5 Banchan is one of the best things at tofu houses. Albeit the Banchan here isn't bad but I do want a little more variety for the price. They give you 5 side dishes here and I think there's 8 at arirang? There's definitely less variety of Banchan here than at ArirangChoice of white or brown rice that comes with every dish. Overall great meal and I'll always come back here for tofu soup.

Ahh, Young Dong Tofu House, you were the perfect New Year's Day pick-me-up! My boyfriend and I arrived around 11 AM, just before the place filled up completely (lucky us). Whoever renovated this place made it so cozy. We got seated in the cutest little booth with a roof! I loved it. We ordered the C4 combo meal, the Spicy Chicken + Tofu for $23.9,9 and T2, the Beef & Seafood Tofu for $15.95 (lunch prices). Our soups came out hot and bubbling, while our Spicy Chicken came sizzling! A cozy, comforting tofu meal was exactly what I craved on a cloudy day. The only gripe was their banchan game. The staff were super speedy and efficient in taking our order and bringing us our food, but there were no Banchan refills. I'll never know if they just forgot, but I did find myself eyeing the empty Banchan dish with longing. Overall, we left happy and full. Young Dong, you already have my trust and love, and you know I'll be back. Just don't forget my banchan refill dishes next time, please!

This location is one of my go to. Always trying different dishes, but I go for the banchan! So much so that I got myself a large Banchan togo of kimchi. Their kimchi is the best Banchan of all restaurants I've been. This one is a bit sweeter, than sour. I'm not a sour fan. So this was perfect!
