Passed by this place so many times, didn't think to check it out. Turns out that a colleague of mine that is Ethiopian loves this place so gave it a try. He is halal so he only gets the veggie combo. Knocked my socks off in comparison to the restaurants on Fairfax! What a surprise from this little hole in the wall. Family run and very popular with the local Ethiopian community, you enter though what appears to be a convince store. To your left is a doorway to the restaurant, the patio out back is popping with locals. I detest beets but can devour everything in front of me. Urge you to try it out!

Omg with these reviews I really wanted to love this place but it missed the mark for me. I was really hoping to find a good Ethiopian restaurant close to home that didn't require a drive to Fairfax but this didn't quite wow me.I had the vegetarian combo with the fried fish. I also had a lentil samosa. The samosa was meh... didn't have much flavor and was just pasty filled with unseasoned whole lentils. The veggie combo was ok and so was the fish... just didn't blow me away and the portions were smaller than expected.I believe in trying things twice so I'll give it one more go.

Yordanos is delicious. I always get the veggie combo. Always. I believe I was eating beets. Delicious. I've been anti-beet since childhood. Not anymore. The whole fried fish makes lunch nice. The awaze tibs are my favorite. I can't explain the robust flavor. I love it. I want to try doro wot, but spicy isn't really my thing. One day, I'll bite the bullet. I'll do it with Yordanos. (The spaghetti is uniquely awesome too... order it)

I walk by this place on my daily walks all the time and keep promising to go. I'm super happy that I finally made a trip!I love variety so I wasn't a huge fan of the lack of combos. I think there were only two ways to get a variety of veggies, the combo with fish and the veggie combo. Ended up ordering the awaze tibs and the veggie combo. I love awaze tibs and this one was fantastic. The veggie combo was alright, I don't think I would get it again. Flavors were there but nothing stood out or was exceptional. There's a cute looking patio with a tv, not sure if it is open all the time as I saw what looked like staff just hanging out watching tv. A star off because the portion to cost ratio is pretty bad, especially when you take the neighborhood into account.

Avoid at all cost. Poorly cooked food... Stale meat... Not even properly chopped. Just disappointing.

Almost 3.5 stars. This is the best Ethiopian food in this part of town, but it could be better: their portions are a big mingy, especially when it comes to sides. Their menu is almost all ala carte, *not* a characteristic of Ethiopian food. This food is intended to be eaten as part of a complete meal, and serving it ala carte is just a way to make it more expensive. The flavors are good but...The only item on the menu that includes sides is the trout; the fish is (like most Ethio places) on the dry/overcooked side, but at least it's generous, not one of those guppy-sized fish other places give you. They skimp on the sides, especially the lentils; lots of cabbage, greens, and green beans/carrots, but that's not really what we came for, is it?The rest of the menu items come only with injera, and a whole lot of it, but what's the point if the entree is skimpy? The sambusa is tasty but again, the order is only one. The place itself has a weird floor plan, a dining room with absolutely no ambiance or vibe (dig the dirty wine glasses behind the bar, they don't serve alcohol), and I suggest you get takeout and leave well enough alone. The folks are nice and I don't like being negative; I suppose they're just trying to make a living like everybody else during these tough times, but piling up injera on skimpy (albeit) tasty and rather pricy items is hardly a recipe for success. Not sure about whether or not I'll order from them again...

The food wasn't bad, but i have definitely had better ethiopian food and for the price we pay to eat ethiopian, only the best will do for me.Giid quality ingredients but the flavor lacked that punch, i get from ethiopian dishes. The food here seems almost basic by comparison. I won't name any names, but their are better offerings in this area, imo. I wanted to like this place and it isn't bad, just not great.

I love your food but you need to update your hours. On yelp it says open from 11-9 everyday but if you call before 3 they're closed. I just called and was told they're closed every Tuesday.
