If you like Americanized Chinese food, this is your place!! Globalization might be the reason but there's more authentic cuisines from all over the world these days. But if you grew up or somehow acquired the taste of good old Chinatown Kung Pao chicken or Beef broccoli, there aren't that many decent restaurants in this town that serve them at a great price now. Yang Chow is one of the few that I've recommended to friends visiting Chinatown and wanted that authentic Chinatown style food. And they always liked it. Fast service of course - it's a good old trade mark of well-run Chinese restaurants so this one is no exception. Small rooms and tables are pretty close together... but that is the old Chinatown ambiance. GREAT PORTION size - we ordered General Tseng's Chicken (中文名: 國藩雞 - 沒聽過吧?! 跟左宗堂雞蠻像的!), Snow peas with 3Flavors (雪豆三鮮 - 有牛肉,蝦, 和新鮮甘貝喔)and a large size Fish Porridge Soup (魚片湯)- I think it can feed 4 people. Parking in Chinatown is never easy but they have valet parking right next to their place. If you miss it, there's a large lot a few stores down on the same size of Broadway and there you can pay $6 for 90 minutes.

Yang Chow never disappoints! The food is always top-notch, and the service is just as excellent. Their signature Slippery Shrimp is a must-try--crispy, flavorful, and absolutely addictive. Every dish is well-seasoned, fresh, and consistently delicious. The staff is attentive and friendly, making sure everything arrives promptly and just as ordered. Even when the place is busy, they manage to keep things running smoothly. The ambiance is casual. No matter how many times I visit, Yang Chow continues to deliver a five-star experience. Highly recommend!

Yang Chow is definitely worth the hype! There was a long line outside when we arrived, but my party of two was seated within minutes after adding our name to the waiting list. We ordered the slippery shrimp and a vegetable dish with asparagus and beans, and both were absolutely delicious. The portions were very generous, and the flavors were spot on--highly recommend! The service was impressively fast, and the staff was super attentive despite how busy they were. Very clean as well. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I really hope they expand in the future. This is a spot I'll definitely hope to return to on my next visit to LA!

Go to Chinese staple. Delicious commercial Chinese food and super well known. Dozens of pictures of celebrities and famous individuals that have dined there are posted on all walls and it's so cool to see. The restaurant is decorated with the classic white clothe and dressed chairs. The food is so addicting and I love making a way to come here. The workers are kind and always want whats best and provide the best service !

Having just come back from China we ended up at this place which was in LAs Chinatown. It is a very hyped restaurant with long lines when in the late afternoon when we went around 3pm. The wait wasn't too bad. Ambiance is nothing special, though it is clean and lot of pictures on the walls with various locals/celebrities, and very dated interior. You do get a very nice service vibe too. The portions are pretty standard Chinese American food and served very large family style. Tried the sizzling and rice soup which was good, kung pao chicken, slippery shrimp. Somewhat heavy overall. We had about 2 days of leftovers for 2 people at the end.

I'm debating of 4 or 5 starts since I been here for years...decades when the father/owner is running it. Now his kids are running it. The places got upgraded yrs ago, with less celebrities pics that hung on the walls, upgraded seatings/booths and cleaner which are fantastic. The foods are still great but for some reason it missing something, or just me. It is still delicious at reasonable prices or the portions and fast serving. The staffs are great and still free parking in the back for their customers, which is great especially parking in Chinatown is hard to find. I guess I haven't come back again and again to figure it out, especially when they have my favorite lychee martini. They got me at that!!!

This place is homey and your typical Chinese no frills no fuss restaurant. We got the slippery shrimp, string beans, pork and shrimp fried rice, and beef lo mein. People have been describing the shrimp as orange chicken but shrimp. But I feel like the shrimp is deep fried like honey walnut with a cornstarch batter and a with sweet and sour sauce. Not quite like orange chicken flavor but not quite like sweet and sour. It was bomb tho could use some spice. But still bomb. I like how the sauce didn't make yeah shrimp soggy too. I also really liked the fried rice. Rice was soft and flavorful and the way the pork was cooked was so delicious. We could've done without the lo mein. A little bland. But overall everything was tasty

Located on the main road in Chinatown, this iconic restaraunt is a must try if you're in the area. Visited by numerous celebrities, you can spot your favorite celebrities on the walls of the interior. The service was quick and attentive with our water refilled without question. The spring rolls were super crispy with a nice center filled with veggies. The fried rice was one of the fluffiest I've ever had and will most definitely be back! order: wonton soup, spring roll, Yangchow fried rice
