The atmosphere of this place was absolutely amazing. Food was amazing too. We spent our 3 year anniversary here and it did not disappoint. Our favourite dish of the night was the Sashimi Nachos 10/10. Steak Garlic Noodles, Yamashiro Roll, and Truffle Fries were all great too. Rice pudding was a great way to end our night. TJ our server definitely brought the vibes. Super friendly from the jump and made our anniversary night feel so special. Definitely gotta dine with him the next time we are here!

Be prepared, it's a tourist trap on some items (in my opinion). My date ordered a sushi boat and they charged him $275 for that boat alone!!!!!! Not all of the sushi was even that fresh nor good in the boat. I ordered spicy tuna and shishito peppers which were excellent & reasonable! His lesson learned NEVER EVER order without checking the menu price. He paid over $500 for one night out + valet parking. Any Katsuya sushi place is a lot better. You go to Yamashiro strictly for the atmosphere and view (which is great!); unless, you know how to order & check the menu price. Maybe go there afterwards for cappuccino & dessert after you've already had your meal for the night. Our waiter was very cordial too; however, I feel my date may have stiffed him on tip due to not pointing out the cost of the boat.

on 2/22 we had the most amazing event - a rehearsal dinner in the sky at Yamashiro - We chose this place because it feels like another world and was epic and cinematic to fill our day into night with wonderful friends and foods. Sydney orchestrated all of this! She was the best event manager and made she we were very taken care of with impeccable service - answering every question we had and giving us the best tasting of Short Ribs, Rosemary Chicken and my absolute favorite SeaBass! So good! The Sushi Boat option was a phenomenal addition that I very much recommend for any large party. Thank you Sydney for letting us arrive early the day of our dinner and position the gifts for our wedding party, set out our name cards at each place setting and made sure our items stayed safe! It gave us peace of mind and we appreciate this very much! I also liked the bartender choice as he was upbeat and accommodating! We want to host our 1st anniversary party here because waiting ten years to renew our vows just can't wait! Thank you for everything, Yamashiro and Sydney you made our wedding week incredibly special!A Year later, on 2/22 : We celebrated our anniversary here and were given the best table outside overlooking the empire that is Los Angeles - The General Manager Christian made sure we were taken care of and the most phenomenal server names TJ made our entire evening fun! He gave us champagne and laughed with us and really knew his menu from front to back. His suggestion of the Banana Egg Rolls for desert were such a great idea and we loved them the most! TJ we will definitely be back and request your section next time for sure! You made our night exclusive and fun! Thank you!

I was invited back after my subpar experience back in December. Let me just say this--DEFINITELY a much better experience!!Our waitress, Laura, was nothing nothing short of amazing. Informative, down to earth, and attentive throughout our meal. She gave us great recs!We ordered edamame, calamari, samurai roll, and seafood fried rice. Everything was flavorful, hot, and came out pretty quick! That calamari with the garlic herb base was out of this world! Yamashiro is perfect for date nights, large parties, and birthdays! Definitely a restaurant where you can throw on something fancy and not feel out of place. I'll be back! Thank you Laura and Abdi

Excellent selection, and taste of food. Sushi tastes fresh, rice is soft on the sushi. Service was very good. Our server was very professional and fast. The place looks very nice. I haven't been here for a long time. A lot of changes. They have amoutdoor tables now. Highly recommended.

Another amazing night!! A Valentine's celebration dinner!! The view is always incredible. Request a window with your reservation way in advance. The wait staff is incredible. Top tier service. The menu will not disappoint. I have to say they did get rid of about 10 items on the menu. Sushi is amazing. The salmon citrus role is a must. The lemon finish is a nice touch to clean the pallet. Steak garlic noodles are delicious and filling. A special place for sure!!

Originally came for Dine LA but the menu was extremely limited so we did our own thing. Thank god we did because it was amazing! I was actually pleased with every dish and we ordered quite a bit. Each dish was unique and full of flavor. I was happy with the table we received as it was secluded and had a great view. It's very much an adult environment; coworkers, birthdays, dates, etc. the service is okay but could use some improvements; when asking about items on the menu they have to "check on that" for pretty much every question. Overall I was very please with the experience, just be ready to pay a pretty penny. Valet is fairly efficient but would recommend ride share.

I was able to finally come visit Yamashiro. We made a reservation a good month ahead of time to come for dinner to celebrate my birthday. We were hoping to have caught the sunset but missed it by a few minutes. The restaurant is near the Magic Castle and truly has a nice aura to it that makes you forget you are in Los Angeles. We had a few minutes before we were seated so we decided to roam the grounds. Sadly the bar at the bottom was closed during our visit and the garden seemed to be under some care. Our waitress was so kind and nice. We were seated outdoors since there was an event going on inside (seemed like a company holiday party). I wore a dress and brought a coat, although I had a heating lamp near by, I was still a little cold so didnt take my coat off at all. We ordered:Spicy tuna crispy ricechampagne miso chilean sea basssalmon citrus rollcoconut hamachi cevice white dragon rollRyujin cocktailEverything was good, enough for two hungry adults to enjoy for dinner. Being that it was my birthday celebration, our waitress brought over a little dessert to enjoy which was a nice touch and also delicious. I also liked that our waitress gave me the time to ask her questions about the restaurant's ghost. I would love to come back and check it out during the day. Ambiance is beautiful! You can see the entire city. The best thing I ate was the steak garlic noodles, absolutely amazing and delicious. It is a must, I promise you won't be disappointed. It's been a few days and I'm still dreaming of tasting it again. AVOID THE SUSHI! this place would be so good if they didn't offer sushi. The sushi is bland, like gas station sushi. Skip the sushi I promise you are not missing out. The spicy edamame is soooo good and it gives you a bowl full.

I went here last night to celebrate my birthday from out of town. Alec took care of us in the garden area. He suggested the edamame and the spicy roll to us and both were so good! Alec kept out entire table laughing the entire time and felt like we were hanging out with a family friend. He was so attentive and knew every answer to the many questions we had. My husband has dietary restrictions and he was able to provide us with suggestions. I will be adding this to my list of MUSTS everytime I visit and I will be sure to request Alec!!! I may have to celebrate my birthday here every year! :)
