We had a nice lunch here yesterday. The shaomai were bigger than expected. The wrappers are so delicate and pretty, but best to eat the dumplings hot cuz the top part got chewy/gummy once they cooled off. Our favorite things were the mushroom fries (surprisingly not greasy at all), scallion pancake-so thin and crispy, cucumber salad-tasty, crunchy and fresh, and the chicken & mushroom shaomai. The shrimp and zucchini shaomai sounded good but we found them to be bland. The service was quick and friendly and we liked how they paced out the dumplings and served each order of 6 dumplings in 2 separate bamboo baskets so they weren't crowded or stuck to each other. The place is small and clean with nice furniture but we were surprised to eat out of paper bowls. Will go back for our favorites and to try other things.

Parking gods at it again. I pulled up to a metered street parking with 42 minutes still remaining so free parking for me. There is a parking lot next door not sure if its paid. There was not alot of ppl around 7pm but then it started to get busy right after i ordered and got my food. Place is good for groups. Food was amazing!Order: beef dumpling and veggie dumpling. I say dumpling because they were pretty big compared to the regular shaomai. They are Juicy and lots of filling. I got the 3 for $7 to try two different types. But you can do the $13.25 for 6 and take some home which i should have done.Honestly, i should have asked if they sold itFrozen and i can just steam it at home. The wrapper is thin and fluffy on top and not heavy. The texture reminds me of jellyfish for some reason. They have options for vegetarians.

They said it's okay to eat raw flour. Lol look at the pics. Give this place a month to train their servers. Not gonna last long if they can't get basics right. 35 mins for 3 shu mai is a no no. Table to our right got a refund cause theirs was fully raw. They left after.

We got food to go so my only regret is not eating in person. They were very timely. Small place with seating for maybe 20 people. Was able to park in a small lot nearby. There's shopping places in the same area. We had the cucumbers, beef dumpling, veg dumpling, popcorn chicken and shrimp with zucchini dumpling. I liked everything but the veg one. I don't really like mushrooms - you have to like that. Everything else was great and I like that the skin is really thin. So you're tasting and eating the filling. They are large size and reasonably priced. Worth the trip to Silverlake.

So, we decided to hit up this new spot and, no cap, I'm super glad we did. The dumplings here are straight-up fire--some of the most flavorful I've ever had.First the location, casual order at the counter and they bring you the food. No alcohol that I can remember and a few tables in the patio. A vibe but I wish they had some music. We sampled a mix of everything: lamb, beef, shrimp, and zucchini dumplings. Plus, we grabbed the hot and sour soup, a crunchy cucumber salad, and some bomb popcorn chicken.Let's break it down: * Soup: Super fresh and flavorful, but I was low key wishing it was hotter for that extra kick. * Cucumber Salad: Crunchy and refreshing--definitely a must-try staple if you love a good crunch. * Popcorn Chicken: This was a surprise hit. The dark meat bites were moist and the sauce was a perfect match. Pro tip: dig in while they're hot for max crunch factor. * Lamb Dumplings: These stole the show. The wrapper's on the thinner side so you get all that lamb and minced shallot goodness in every bite. I'm already planning to order these every time I'm here. * Beef Dumplings: They were good, but the lamb just had that extra something. * Shrimp and Zucchini Dumplings: Tasty and fresh, rounding out the dumpling lineup nicely.Overall, Xibei Dumplings is a definite try if you're into dope dumplings. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

One of biggest hole in the wall places in Silverlake. They had a free tasting last weekend and it was amazing. I ordered the chicken and mushroom dumplings and beef dumplings. The place had an order kiosk or you can order in person. They had a lot of options under $15 and very affordable even tho it's in Silverlake.

I guarantee these are the most unique dumplings you've ever had. They're called shaomai and aren't the typical ones you find at dimsum. They originate from northwestern China where they have hundreds of stores, and this is their first location in the US.You can see how the pretty fans on the shaomai wrapper are made in the open kitchen, and they're stuffed to the BRIM with different fillings like shrimp, lamb, and even a pan-fried one!And they have a version of a Chinese burger called roujiamou with savory braised pork.Cold noodles with addicting~ peanut sauce and sweet corn pancakes are other must-try's here. Thanks for reading! ^-^

Xeibei Dumpling has officially landed in Silverlake! Specializing in Northwestern Chinese cuisine, their signature shaomai are a must-try.The atmosphere is casual yet modern, with an open kitchen where you can watch chefs hand-wrap each dumpling. Service is friendly and efficient, and despite the high-quality ingredients, prices are super affordable, most dishes are under $15!I tried several shaomai, and they were bigger than usual and packed with flavor. The pan-fried beef shaomai ($7.50 for 3) had a crispy edge, while the shrimp & zucchini ($7 for 3) was light and refreshing. For something heartier, the beef rice bowl ($15.25) came loaded with tender beef and steamed rice, and the crystal cold noodles ($8.75) were chewy, refreshing, and paired perfectly with sesame sauce. With authentic flavors, great service, and budget-friendly pricing, Xeibei is a game-changer for dumpling lovers, definitely worth a visit!

Really enjoyed this place, high quality stuff, super cheap, they have a very clear vision of what they're doing and stick to their strengths. Got the beef shaomai, popcorn chicken, and a scallion pancake and they were all legit.
