Volcano Wok

Ordered a Hawaiiian combo plate. Value? For $18 plus tax I mean it was a decent portion.The chicken was good, rice was ok, beef short rib was good, it was one piece of beef rib with like 6 bones and they supplemented the rest of the beef with a thin steak of some sort, super salty.Mac salad had cabbage In it as a filler which I did not care for and they used mini elbows otherwise the Mac salad was good.Also on Yelp it has the hours but I arrived at 8pm and they had already turned off the hot foods and the lady said they were closing at 9pm.Would I Return? Maybe, only because there isn't much in this neighborhood.

One of those joints. Been through here a couple times before and yea not the most welcoming or appealing ambiance. But after taking a New Yorker homie's approach ('Chinese Fast Food should be heavy in Portion while cheap.) I gave it another try. Prices seem high but what isn't these days. Quantity good for the value. Quality not bad either, could be better. This review is based off Hawaiian BBQ Chicken Plate and Spicy Tuna Roll. Plate was loaded with side cabbage to the rice and covered by the chicken filets. Sauce not too weak nor strong. Roll was nicely composed, not too spicy or sweet or fishy, avocado was fresh. Sushi rice seasoning did not taste like typical sweetened rice vinegar, but sweet enough without being overpowered in a bad way.

I have ordered a few times from here, this last time I got violently ill from the Cashew Chicken.It was not food poisoning but it did feel like a sickness that I had once from an asian restaurant that used MSG.I looked at their site and could not find anything saying that they do not use MSG.Now I am getting harassing phone calls from this restaurant."Hi, it's good. Ok, this is calling from the restaurant. What can you walk? So, uh, let me just tell you. Ok, I think you eat too much food. Ok. The food, the food is very high temperature to cook. It's very, very, not any poison. Ok. I just told you when you sleep before, don't eat too much food. Ok. If we, when, when you eat too much food, they sleep, sleep. This is make a problem. Ok, after the meal you maybe one hour, two hours then go sleep. This is better. Ok. Thank you very much."I will definitely not be ordering from here again.

What made my experience with this restaurant beyond terrible is for 1.) The Asian female driver didnt understand English AT ALL, 2.) I was at work midnight shift, and the place of business has lots of cameras, so I actually seen her driving a dirty grey mini van around, so it appeared she couldn't read the sign that says enter... How do I know she didn't speak any English? SHE called, and she was trying to say parking lot, and I asked was she driving a gray van? She didn't understand, what I was saying, so I just told her I'm on my way down... As I walked out of building, up the ramp to her vehicle as she left her emergency lights on, I approached the vehicle, no one was inside! But I can see inside of her vehicle was extremely dirty, it looked as if she live in van, but lots of clothes and other materials scattered around inside of van... After seeing this! I was disgusted... I get a call from the restaurant, which was a Asian guy, he didn't understand English either, but his English was a bit more better then hers, as he was telling me she's in Parking lot 1, which means she walked further from where I was, as well as with from her vehicle SMH.. So going to find her, I was able to see the deliverer near main office, which I pointed where she could've seen me, prior to her walking all around the facility smh. So as im approaching her to retrieve order, I reached to grab the food, WEIRDLY she pulled back, as in not wanting to give me food, so that was it for me. I just walked off, as in not going bk and forth with someone who doesnt understand english... I made sure to call grub hub as well as inform the guy who kept calling me from the restaurant, that she refused to give me the food, but unfortunately he didn't understand what I was saying OMG . My overall experience with Volcano Wok, was terrible... Very unprofessional... Truth be told, EVEN though I had my work uniform on, which she could easily tell I work there, she seen a blk guy approaching and may have felt that I was trying to "STEAL" the food, which is why she pulled bk when trying to retrieve my order... I will never order from here again, and will share my experience with others...

Volcano Wok has been my neighborhood favorite for quite some time now. Such kind owners, great prices, delish food and so reliable. (Shout out to the Spam Msubi) Thank you Volcano Wok!!

I have been coming here for years. The food you order from the menu is pretty good. The prices have gone up but yet again I believe prices here in Los Angeles have all gone up especially during pandemic. Its hard for a small buisness to stay open during these times.

Seriously terrible. Expensive for crappy food. Maybe they can get away with charging over $15 for a dish since they have a good location. The egg roll was bland, the sweet and sour chicken was just sweet and no other flavors, and I had to pour a ton of soy sauce on the noodles to get any flavor.

I'd like to comment on the quality of the food but since, after waiting 1.5 hours, they called to CANCEL the delivery as I was 1.8 miles too far. I had taken the extra step to call and confirm my order with the restaurant who said they received it and were making it. Nothing ever arrived nor a phone call made in 1.5 hours for a restaurant 4.3 miles away. Do not depend on your food to show up! It might be ok, but why take your chances? Go somewhere else more dependable.

it is cold and lackluster inside. looks unclean and not maintained.ordered miso soup the taste was off. and teriyaki chicken and rice. sauce tasted contamimated.I don't think it's safe to eat or sanitary. I did not see them even wash their hands.save yourself a trip
