Viet Noodle Bar

Walked down the street to try this place for our first time. The inside was modern but cozy so I enjoyed it a lot because lots of seating. Price was a little high for the portions but not unexpected for Santa Monica. The food was simple but tasty (not pictured was a banh mi). Service was good because we came an hour before closing so it was slow, our server was attentive but was working alone. Might come back for lunch one day.

Cute place. Some of the other food I saw while waiting looked great. I ordered a chicken bahn mi. It was ridiculously tiny. The chicken was finely shredded and there was very little of it. I prefer grilled chunks or pieces of chicken. Shame as the toppings were excellent and overall flavor was good. I'd go back to try the pho or one of the plates. Probably a better value. My mini bahn was over $18 with tax and tip. I will definitely update my review when I make it back to try other dishes.

This restaurant doesn't need another gushing review, yet... Never had a turmeric fish bánh mi before; honestly it didn't sound too appetizing. What the. Fish was soft and flaky, mildly seasoned and nestled in a long, thin, chewy baguette. It was so good I stopped the same week for another. Returned a third time to try the pho bo (with grass-fed beef) in house. Broth was mild and nuanced, ingredients super fresh. I plan to eat my way through the menu now. This is not just a neighborhood gem, it's a SoCal one.

This is a nice Vietnamese restaurant with a comfy atmosphere, not too loud and conveniently located on Pico just west of 34th st and the freeway overpass.Service was above average and my lunch was ready in minutes.I had turmeric white fish with noodles. It was delicious but a small portion for $19 and the extra rice for $5 was also very small. This loses them one star for below average value.

Always a favorite when heading home from the airport. Amazing fish pho and I always love the sesame beef with turmeric rice. Bahn Mi good as well. They close early but otherwise it's a great spot we have dined at probably fifty times. Highly recommend.

A hidden gem! My friend found this place and we went to grab dinner on a Wednesday night. It wasn't crowded at all. The restaurant was pretty big inside compared to the front entrance. We got a bowl of Pho and the Tumeric Fish Noodle. I loved the Tumeric fish noodle! It was so tasty and something I've never had before! Would definitely recommend this place. There was plenty of street parking on the week night and we only had to pay till 6pm. Free parking after 6pm. The dishes were more on the pricey side for Vietnamese food but it's LA so not surprised.The Tumeric Fish Noodle was $18 but man it was good!

BEST PHO , super clean ingredients and I always feel great afterwards. The broths are so comforting and soul satisfyingly good, deep delicious yet light. Everything is flavorful and elegantly done. I've tried a lot of phos $ bahn mis (I grew up in OC Okrrr) so I know my sh* HIGHLY RECOMMEND:FRIED SHRIMP APPETIZERFISH PHOCHICKEN PHO FISH BAHN MI (extra mayo + chiles)LEMONGRASS BEEF NOODLE (spicy) Manager is so cool and fast, really low key place that deserves 10X business

This place is amazing! Probably the best vietnamese food on the West Side. The service here is always great, super efficient. The tumeric fish salad is a great started and definitely their best dish on the menu. The soup noodle pho are also amazing, super comforting and light. I highly recommend!

Posting some updated menu with price increases. Parking is a drag. Metered street parking if available and a few free street parking 4h max on the side alley. Food is delicious. Pho beef soup is very tasty although a bit too oily. Turmeric fish melts in your mouth. Never seen this place packed ever. Every time I come, there are only 1-2 tables occupied. Not a high traffic area.

Not sure why I've never written a review for Viet Noodle Bar! My husband and I have been coming here for years and it's always pretty empty inside. Can't complain because we love being able to eat right away, but we always just hope that they get good business so that they can stay around!Our go to is the Turmeric Fish! We always debate on the noodle or the rice because both are incredibly delicious! The flavors are light but bold at the same time. We had never had a Vietnamese dish like this before and we can only ever find it here. We're always a little bit underwhelmed by the apps, but the mains keep us coming back.
