Came here since Hide Sushi was closed on a Tuesday. The tsukemen was delicious! The broth was so rich and I really enjoyed the flavoring of the chashu. I think they also give a fair amount of chashu. I'm also a big fan of thicker noodles and enjoyed the bounciness of the noodles here. I also ordered a salmon & ikura bowl because I was still craving some raw fish after missing out on Hide. The rice bowl was honestly very average and I wouldn't order it again. I had some left over rice and dipped it into the tsukemen broth and it was really good with the broth carrying.

Unfortunately have to post an update, but one year has changed a lot. Without the mention of the egg shortage resulting in no longer offering unlimited hardboiled eggs... The menu has changed, and the portions are significantly smaller now. While it wasn't bad, it really wasn't as tasty as I knew since last year. To make matters worse, the host uses the waitlist as a suggestion, and customers who walk away and return can now cut the line. All in all, I really find it hard to praise the new Tsujita.

FIVE STARSSSS forever and ever Tsujita Annex you will have my heart always So I first tried the Tsukemen from the OG Tsujita location across the street, and I did like it... but it wasn't anything crazy. I used to work at a restaurant that specialized in Tsukemen so I feel like I have a teensy bit of credibility in this department. My mom however had only tried the Annex location and couldn't stop raving about it and how it's the perfect ramen for her. I went to see what she was on about and was she RIGHT!!!!The Tsukemen is made to perfection, it's definitely on the oily side because they use real pork fat for the broth and you can TELL. And I looove my soups fatty. The flavor is so rich and the dipping noodles are thick and delicious!!This is one of those meals I couldn't eat often because of how filling it is, but when I crave it I'm GETTING it. Please try if it seems like something you'd enjoy, you will not regret it. The Deluxe Ramen is good as well, but I'm not the biggest fan ever, if I come here I'm coming for the tsukemen, but my mom is obsessed with the ramen and says its the best so either way you'll be eating good

Since my initial review in 2019, I've been back a few more times and have now consider this one of my go to's in the Sawtelle district. There has been changes and updates to the restaurant and menu. Now when you walk in, you don't get hit with that pungent stinky tofu smell as before. I was told that they have made changes to the broth back in 2023 and had to basically clean the walls and equipment to rid of the stench. The new recipe doesn't stink up the joint. I also notice that there are less fat floating in my bowl as before. With their new menu items, I decided to get the Garlic Ramen. If you love garlic, this is the move. Soup is still fatty and delicious and it coats your lips. They still give you a heaping amount of bean sprouts. Overall, I really love this place. Only issue with coming to this area is that parking sucks.

Came here with my partner and it gave us both very bad times on the toilet. The garlic lover ramen was too heavy and the noodles were not done well. It was too thick and a bit too hard for my liking. The broth was undrinkable, even as a garlic lover myself. Sad to say, I couldn't finish my bowl. The tsukemen had a better texture and flavor, so if you must come here, I would recommend that. Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend and won't be returning.

I've had good & bad ramen. I've had REALLLYY good ramen, and this one is definitely up there. Sometimes ramen can be so bland and thin, no flavor whatsoever. Not the case here. Jam packed with such goodness. From the meat, to the broth, the eggs, the overload of garlic! I normally don't care for bean sprouts but it's placed on top and sprinkled with a chili powder, overall a superb blend of taste & texture. I enjoyed every bite. Even the left overs were enjoyable! Definitely would, without a doubt, eat here again whenever a ramen craving washes over me.I've been coming here since they were cash-only. And one thing remains. ITS CONSISTENT! That's what you look for in a good restaurant. Often confused with its sister restaurant across the street (Tsujita Artisan Noodles) this place is tucked away in a literal hole in the wall. And TBH I would rather pick this little location any day. If you're around the Sawtelle area, make sure to pop in. It can be a long wait, but worth it!

I visited Tsujita Annex a while back and wasn't a fan of their tsukemen, so I decided to try their Jiro-style Deluxe Annex Ramen instead. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to expectations. The noodles lacked body and felt more like udon, and the vegetables on top were overcooked. The pork on top tasted funky in bad way.Ramen is all about execution--it's a simple dish composed of just four main elements: noodles, broth, tare seasoning, and toppings. To stand out, these components need to work together in perfect harmony, with the right temperature (super hot), texture, saltiness, and balance. While the Deluxe Ramen visually resembles Jiro-style ramen, the taste doesn't come close.I much prefer Tsujita's original location and their tonkotsu ramen--it's far better in terms of execution.

I'd say overall experience was pretty good. I've had this several times and I'd say it's pretty consistent every time I went. This location in LA is pretty busy my party of six people waited around 30 minutes and the customer service was pretty nice. we got served pretty quickly and had no complaints.Tonkatsu Ramen: 4/5 it was pretty good. Not anything special I'd say. It was filling and flavorful. I feel like I didn't get enough meat though. Salmon bowl: 5/5 I wanted something small so I got the salmon bowl, which was surprisingly really good. For around $10 I got full and enjoyed . The salmon was very flavorful. The rice had a nice sauce and everything combined together made a really good dish. I enjoyed this bowl more than the Ramen, but if I were to go here again, I would just come for the dipping noodles. This is a nice place to chill, nice ambiance in general!

Honestly, this style of ramen might just not be for me, though it might be great for others.First, there wasn't too long of a wait on a Friday at around dinner. Finding parking is tough around this time in Sawtelle, no matter what, so that's just to be expected.Next, our waitress took our order while we were waiting for our table outside, so our food arrived pretty soon after we were seated. That was definitely efficient! Now, for the food. I tried the garlic authentic ramen, and the garlic in the name is there for a reason. The garlic flavor is very in-your-face, though I really enjoy garlic. There's a ton of crispy garlic on top, along with a strong garlic flavor in the broth. It did also feel very heavy, so I tried adding some vinegar, but it didn't really help. Also, the ramen noodles were way too thick for my liking (the same noodles as in the tsukemen, btw), so I wasn't able to eat as much of my ramen as I usually would. The chashu was pretty tender, if slightly salty, but not bad at all.My partner tried the tsukemen (he was really craving it), but he thought the dip broth was too thin, and it didn't satisfy his craving... He did enjoy the chashu though!Overall, the ramen at the annex is super different from the ramen at the regular Tsujita. If you prefer thicker noodles in your ramen, you might like the ramen here. We'll just endure the wait at the regular Tsujita next time.

Been here many times over a decade. Always gave this place five stars. Not sure what has changed but tempted to leave 3.Food was just ok. Portions are small, broth is less acidic and more soy based. Hopefully just a fluke night.
