Decided to finally try this place. I have to say it didn't disappoint. All the employees were great and always checking on you. They offered suggestions on the menu and answered all questions that we had. The employees all did a great job.We just happened to go on taco Tuesday without realizing it. They had great deals for taco Tuesday. We each had 3 tacos and shared a nachos between the two of us and we were full. Both the tacos and nachos were a great quality and the flavors are very tasty. The decor and atmosphere suited the place and lots to look at. The bathrooms were clean and had great pictures of Danny from his iconic roles he has had.All in all I will definitely eat here again.

I love this place. Every time I'm in town, I make it a point to stop by Trejo's Cantina. Their approach to tacos is inventive, pushing the boundaries of what we think tacos could or should be. If you're a taco chaser like me, it's in the same spirit as Guerrilla Tacos--another must-visit spot for those who love bold, creative takes on Mexican food.I also have Danny Trejo's cookbook, and it adds another layer of appreciation to the experience. He explains the thought (and love) behind each taco, tying them to his life, upbringing, and Los Angeles' unique Mexican food culture. You can taste that intention in every bite.I've had almost everything on the menu, but my favorites are the Beef Barbacoa, Carne Asada, Chicken Tinga, and Mushroom Asada--all excellent choices. The chips and guacamole are also top-notch, and I never skip the churros for dessert. They definitely nail the salsa picante, which, to me, is the most important part of any taco. They even sell bottles of it, and I always stock up.Trejo's Tacos perfectly represents LA's evolving Mexican food scene--creative, flavorful, and unafraid to experiment. Taco purists might scoff, and that's fine--plenty of taco trucks and taquerias in LA stick to tradition. But if you're open to stepping outside the box a bit, this place is absolutely worth a visit.

I stopped by for some tacos on my way to an event around the corner. I was wondering if the Trejo name carries a reputation. It didn't. I think some street tacos would have been just as good. No complaints. Service was cool. Not much to add. Just some basic tacos. They had other stuff on the menu and I think they also serve booze. If that's what you're into. As for me, pass. Now I know. But check them out for yourself. You might like them.

Cute vibe. Staff is friendly and helpful.Food was fantastic. The house salsa and chips were so flavorful and a great starter. I ordered the shrimp burrito and it was packed. They gave me the option of getting it with green or red salsa on top (something we call burrito mojado). I picked the green salsa and was excited to eat! Everything was delicious. Everyone in my group was stuffed and happy. We'll be returning soon!

Stopped off for a quiet bite... Mainly for a cocktails but food sounded good as well. We sat at the bar which was nice. Service was great, menu consisted of if your many selection of tacos, burritos and so on. Drink menu did have a wide array of cocktails to choose from. They also have a full bar so I'm sure they could make whatever you crave. Started off with some guacamole salsa and chips. Didn't take long to come out. Salsa was quite nice. Entrees, the smoked blackened salmon bowl, rice beans salsa slaw corn and guacamole. And the two taco meal. Food was good and fast. Pretty cool place for a quick meal a cocktail.

So if you are like us and enjoy every movie Danny Trejo has ever starred in... why not try his eponymous restaurant "Trejo's Cantina"? It is located just one block off Hollywood blvd. We stopped in for a bite today and enjoyed the jackfruit enchiladas and the blackened salmon tacos. They are served with very flavorful rice and beans. This is a vegan friendly place.Callie was our server and she is delightful! Super friendly, helpful and cheerful. Callie is knowledgeable about the menu and made excellent recommendations. She made our lunch special.I am very fond of those salmon tacos. The sauce is savory and excellent. Trejo's has a great vegan menu too. Try the jackfruit enchiladas, we did and they were delicious. I love Trejo's hot sauce and brought home a bottle to enjoy from their merch collection.Park in the lot right out front. Highly recommend!

When a Celeb adds their name or face to a restaurant, I get somewhat skeptical to the quality of food that's going to be served. I don't know if Danny has any culinary experience or not, my wife is a huge fan of his and her birthday trip included having dinner at one of the Trejo establishments. I can't speak for the other ones, but this one left me really impressed. My wife had the asada burrito she loved and a jalapeño margarita she was obsessed with. My son had the 2 asada tacos and he said were one of the best tacos he's ever had. I had the Surf and Turf burrito which I was very pleased with. I wish I would have known before hand they use black beans ahead of time, but it's a small complaint. The art in the bathroom is a cool addition to the décor and worth a visit alone. The Merch (T-shirts, hats, etc) are over priced, but what do you expect? We still left with a T-shirt and a bottle of hot sauce. lol

I love Trejo's Cantina! Both the food and drinks here are so goooood! You can't go wrong with one of the margaritas but they also have a variety of well made and strong drinks. Plus a beer menu, too!Seating is at the bar or booths. There's usually only one or two waiters running around, but service is pretty quick. If you're a fan of Danny Trejo, you'll def love all the merch for sale. One of my friends from out of town bought a shirt and she loved the novelty of all the branded stuff they have.On this last visit, I had a frozen strawberry margarita, which was absolutely delightful. It also kept me from drinking too much because the slush was so thick it took me a while to drink it all, lol! I also had the Spicy Shrimp Bowl. It was smaller than I expected, but actually ended up being plenty of food. The shrimp was really good, but I added a bit more hot sauce because I like it spicier. My husband got the Spicy Shrimp Burrito and fried chicken taco. He saw that there were a bunch of fried chicken items so wanted to try it. It was a good choice. The batter tasted so good and the chicken was cooked perfectly. Really tender. Everything was delicious and we left very satisfied! Oh and avoid the parking lot. It's usually valet and just very limited in general. There's plenty of street parking around.

Again California prices but you will not go wrong with the Carnitas tacos, the baja fish and steak. Even the Chicken nuggets with tots were excellent. You may even get lucky and meet the man himself..."MACHETE".

Listen, is the food deliciously top notch, authentic, but also uniquely special? absolutely. absolutely it is. But having been to this location several times, I can tell you truthfully that every single time, the thing that's even better than the food and the drinks? it's the service. our latest visit was on a slower Taco Tuesday night, but Chris was our server, and there's no way in hell this man shouldn't be in charge of literally the whole world. he's extremely kind, attentive, and thorough without being overbearing or fake. 1000/10, come for the food, stay for the service.
