Toshi

Food 10/10 the fish is so fresh and melts in your mouth. Service is a bit slow depending on how busy it is when you go because Toshi does runs it all by himself--but that's what makes the food so good. If you have the time, the wait is 100000% worth it. My new go to sushi spot in the valley.

Restaurant had no ambiance, looked like a swamp meet. We ordered $60 worth of sushi and it all went to the trash, the albacore didn't taste right; IT WAS WARM. The salmon had a terrible fish-y taste to it, the rolls had no structure and would fall apart when you picked it up. Food overall was trash, I would not recommend anyone to come here. I don't know where all these five star reviews came from but this restaurant is HORRIBLE and doesn't even deserve one star. It deserves ZERO stars. Seems like the place is ran by one person, an older man.

Such an amazing hole in the wall restaurant! It reminded us very much of our time in Japan. A small little place owned by Toshi who also runs the place by himself. He was so friendly and because it was just my boyfriend and me in there, we ended up talking with Toshi for well over an hour. So if you want speedy service on a slow night, don't count on it but he makes up for it in amazing sushi and great conversation. The fish he used was so fresh along with all the veggies that were crisp. We got 4 different rolls: spicy tuna, yellowtail, Toshi roll, and the Eel and Avocado and literally all of them were a hit. The miso soup was some of the best I've ever had and he even surprised us with his own little creation with the leftover spicy tuna so he didn't have to waste it. I will definitely be returning and bringing friends, I could not recommend this place more. Unless you want water or hot tea, you'll need to go next door for some drinks but we will always be down with BYOB lol. Lastly, for everything we got, the total was very doable and reasonable. We love Toshi Sushi!

Shoutout Toshi. We thought it might be closed but we knocked on the door and he unlocked it and let us in. Had a great conversation, he's very funny. The food is delicious, it tastes super fresh. The place is definitely a whole in the wall. Very reasonably priced too. Will definitely be coming back

I've both dined in and ordered take out from Toshi a variety of times over the last decade and it has been nothing but exceptional every time. Toshi himself (or so I assume his name is) is such a sweet man who really puts time and love into preparing your food, and he sings in a beautiful voice while doing it!Though I've tried a variety of things here from spicy tuna crispy rice to unagi to dragon rolls, hands down this is the BEST spot for a Philly roll. The portions are generous, it's always fresh tasting, and it's just top notch. It makes me not want to order Philly rolls from anywhere else now.Thank you for being such an awesome staple in the community, Mr. Toshi!

I love Toshi. I love the portions. I love the quality of the fish as it nearly melts in your mouth. I love the simple feel-at-home decor. I love that the chef, I'm assuming Toshi, is happy and whistles while he works. You can tell he loves what he does. You can't go wrong at this laidback spot. The price is not ridiculous and you get 100% what you pay for. Toshi ranks in my top 3 sushi dives in Southern California. Very grateful for the experience.

Wonderful owner he has been giving amazing service for over 20 some odd years in the valley, and he has always been a pleasure. His foods been good, and his service has been amazing always

Toshi is a real gentleman!! He treated us with a jalapeño roll which was the bomb ! The dragon roll was fire as well..! I recommend this place

Man if I could put this shit lower I would. I feel for the lone old man that works here but he should honestly invest in a staff or something cause this place blows lol. We spent mad bread for 5 rolls the albacore and salmon was warm and tasted like it wasn't sushi grade at all. The rolls were literally falling apart the cucumber tasted like it wasn't ripe some were literally just drenched in teriyaki sauce. God bless the 5 star reviews here cause I don't know what the hell they were eating DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME/MONEY HERE

This is my family's go to spot for Sushi! Best sushi in town. So fresh and delicious. Toshi is always so kind and gives great service.
