Dined in on 2/24/25 around 5:40 PM: It's closer to a 4.5 for me - the ramen and chicken was unique and tasty but the protein portions run on the smaller side in my opinion. There are tons of noodles and broth in the ramen though. The broth was had a delightful savory chicken taste without being fatty or overwhelming. Had a bite of the Japanese bbq rice and it was cooked just right. The whole meal felt very healthy so I think it's a great alternative if you want to feel full but not be in a food coma post meal. Service was super quick, we were in and out within 30 minutes. Parking is metered street parking (free after 8 PM!) and the gender neutral bathrooms were clean (I used both of them lol). Ambience is casual and I like the counter seating area where you can see the chefs work. Appreciate the plastic (?) barrier that blocks the smoke from coming out the kitchen but still allows you to watch the chefs working.

Very easily my now favorite ramen spot. Everything we ate here was FANTASTIC. The ramen is sooo unique. The broth is rich and smokey from the chicken, and so different from normal pork broth ramen. The chicken broth ramen, although very rich, did not feel as heavy as normal ramen broth, but was somehow more flavorful, with a more impactful taste. We got the combos of the fried chicken with tartar sauce and bbq chicken, both so good.Kind waiters, great service, and delicious food.Highly recommend getting the ramen and rice bowl combos.

Ambiance: it's a small ramen place located in sawtelle, and replaced the former yakitori at the same spot, right next to the sushi enya restaurant, cozy vibes bar table and regular tables, overall packed inside and probably not good for large group hangoutService: lack of service, it took a while to get water, and then another long wait to get food, when it wasn't their busy time, more than half of the store was empty with only three other tables of guests there and two tables were about to leave already, let alone the surprise surcharge for broth in the end Food: the menu has very limited items, essentially three ramens and four bowls, that's it! There was a group of two seated in and left after seeing their menu, and I really wish I've done the same. Japanese BBQ Chicken Ramen - * ramen noodles, chicken broth, charcoal grilled chicken, scallion, red radish, seasoned egg, seaweed, stingy on protein and broth, I had to ask for additional broth, as the entire bowl of noodles was so dry and served with barely any soup left, charcoal chicken tasted terrible Rich Spicy Chicken Ramen - *** ramen noodles, chicken broth, chili pepper, garlic, grilled chicken charsiu, green onion, menma, scallion, seasoned egg, seaweed, mediocre spicy taste Japanese BBQ Chicken Bowl - ** Charcoal grilled chicken, green onion, eringi, seaweed, homemade teriyaki sauce, sesame, scallion, rice, only if you like the smokey and charcoal taste, otherwise it tasted gross and undercooked Fried Chicken with Sweet and Sour Sauce Bowl - *** Chinese style deep fried chicken with sweet vineger sauce, green onion and rice, average Price: moderate portions and overly priced for its quality, absolutely not worth $35+ per person for a mediocre ramen place. I really wanted to like this new ramen place in Sawtelle, but the overall experience here is so disappointing. I wouldn't come back, and absolutely NOT recommend this place to friends.

This is a small shop near Sawtelle, had a good ambience and the seating was a little tight, but not uncomfortable. We had the Japanese BBQ Chicken Ramen. I ordered the large, but couldn't really tell that much of a difference from the regular. Service was a bit slow, but we ate during peak hours so it was understandable. The taste was deep and unique, but definitely not your typical ramen. The char is intense and flavorful, I enjoyed the taste but its not for everyone.

We love Torisonba. It is located right in the Japanese food area near Sawtelle on Olympic Boulevard. The places adorable and the service is fantastic. The owes make sure it is clean and they have a great selection of food. We love all of their food and you will find that it gets crowded, but don't worry you will get a spot. I do not know if they take reservations. Parking can be difficult but you will find a spot. Their bowls are fantastic and no matter what you get you will be happy. The staff will guide you and help you if needed. You will just love this place. Go there.

This place is great. I had the Rich Spicy Chicken Ramen combo which comes with the ramen itself and a small rice bowl of your choice for only 5 additional dollars. I chose the Fried Chicken with Tartar Sauce bowl. The ramen lived up to its name and was rich and spicy. It has become my new favorite ramen spot in West LA. The rice bowl was pretty good too, though nothing mind blowing. I was seated right away once arriving. However, it's a pretty small space, so I'm wondering if I just got lucky, or if people haven't caught on to how great this place is since it is new.

We came here for dinner and were excited since we haven't had chicken ramen in forever. I got the pure chicken ramen and my friend got the spicy version. The wait took awhile which surprised us cause ramen is usually super fast but we waited about 20 mins and ramen usually comes out within 5. We also opted for a small bowl of the fried chicken with tartar sauce and rice. This was actually so good. I wish they can expand their menu to include this as an actual appetizer without the rice part. For the ramen, it was very tasty and filling. Both my friend and I really enjoyed it. The only downside is the price. It was almost $20 for a bowl of ramen which I think is definitely on the pricier end and the bowl is on the smaller side. That being said, it was still tasty and hopefully they can expand their menu soon to include more items!

The chicken ramen here is unreal. The broth is so unctuous and flavorful, yet tastes rather healthful. I have actually never had anything quite like it. I know the place is know for its grilled chicken, but I felt the ramen was a total standout. The grilled chicken was actually in my opinion a little too smoky (too strong a charcoal flavor) , but was otherwise well cooked.

My gf and I have been tired of the same old ramen offered by numerous spots in all of LA and then found this spot. We came on a weekend at around 6:00 pm and got seated within 10 minutes. I ordered the pure rich chicken ramen and my gf ordered the japanese bbq chicken ramen with a small fried chicken with tartar sauce bowl. The order arrived within 10 minutes. The pure rich chicken ramen had very rich chicken flavor, and not the chicken stock kind. The chicken meat in the ramen was interesting with a slightly sweet taste. The combination of the noodles + broth + chicken meat was just chicken heaven.I tried a little bit of the japanese bbq chicken and the smokiness in the chicken was incredible. I could taste the slightly burnt aroma with each bite and even in the soup itself. The fried chicken with tartar sauce bowl was also surprisngly not greasy or heavy at all. The light crispiness of the chicken went well with the rice and tartar sauce.Overall, both my gf and I loved the food and will be coming back for more. The ramen here is distinctively different from all the surrounding ramen shops. Their focus on chicken instead of pork brings a unique taste to the ramen and is definitely worth trying. Wait time is definitely an issue though, since I heard it was about an hour by the time we left. The restaurant is really small and only has about 10 tables.

Amazing ramen place in Sawtelle. I stopped in for quick lunch and really enjoyed their bbq chicken ramen. They're located next door to Brian Shave Ice. Place is very small, seating is limited to handful tables and bar counter. Menu is super simple with few chicken ramen and rice bowl dishes.I sat at counter which gives you great view of the cooks making your food, especially when they grill the chicken. I got bbq chicken ramen and upgraded to combo #4 chicken rice bowl for extra $5. The ramen was wonderful. Chicken was really smoky and nicely seasoned. Love chicken broth, its full bodied, thick and rich flavor. Not pork broth which you often get at most ramen places. Noodles have good chewy texture and soft-bowl egg perfectly executed. The rice bowl was just as delicious. Charred onions and bbq sauce add extra umami. Thought green yuzu sauce was okay, really didn't do it for me. Service was good and attentive. Only complaint is they only serve one kind of beer, Suntory ...what's up with that! Where's Asahi and Sapporo?Definitely worth a try if you're in the area!
