Came here for a tiki vendor show (House of Modern Antiquities freaking rocks!!), it wasn't terribly hot when I went so I didn't feel the need to hide out in the bar. There is no food whatsoever, so if you don't drink and if there isn't a vendor show, I'd say skip the place. As for the vendor show, I've been to a lot of tiki vendor shows, and most are filled with people who are kind, sweet and welcoming - and I'm not talking about the vendors! A drunk woman tried to smash my camera, nearly assaulted a man and kept pushing me and him around, and no one did anything :/ C'mon, Tonga Hut...

Came here for the first time. Can't believe I never been here before. Living my whole life in the valley. The host told us it was the oldest tiki bar. We sat at the bar and ordered a drink. She brought us the drink. I asked this woman bartender if she can put another drink on my bill since happy hour was almost about to end. She told me well I just brought you this one. So I guess that was a no. I didn't want it right now but ok. The drink was good. But her attitude I don't need to deal with. She had no personality. Seemed like she was upset. I just finished my drink and moved on. I won't be back.

Love this place. The staff is great, vibe excellent and the drinks are strong and delicious! They don't serve food but they do usually have a taco stand set up right off the back patio. Speaking of the back patio...love that it's covered so you don't get scorched by the sun. It's also pretty big with lots of seating and of course decked out in Tiki theme. Inside is dark, moody and cozy. It's small but it also has a decent amount of seating. Oh and they have really cool events throughout the year which they announce on their Instagram. It's street parking but usually isn't too much of an issue.

This was my first time to the Tonga Hut, a classic tiki bar if ever there was one. It's not a fancy place, so the drinks are reasonable and well-made. The staff was very helpful and exploring the menu items and the atmosphere transported us back to a groovy time of yester year in the South Pacific...

This place is operating like the Covid days. Terrible unwelcoming vibes, unfortunately. They wanted to put us at a table in their parking lot. Couldn't even go inside and hang. I don't know who is managing this place, but hopefully one day someone else can take over and make this spot awesome again. Skip it until new ownership. Go to Tiki No instead.

One of our favorite local bars. I love that the inside area never gets crowded because they only allow enough people in that fit in the available seats. The drinks are great. My favorite is the Nutty Chi Chi. It's strong, sweet but not too sweet, and a really unique drink. There is a taco stand out back which is great for soaking up some of those Mai Tais. The staff at the bar is friendly. I love the decor, the music, and the overall vibe. Make a reservation online for a nice table inside.

Really cool Tiki bar. Apparently the oldest tiki bar in LA. One thing for sure, they had the best Mai Tai I've had in LA.They do take walk ins, but best to make a reservations for a table. The ambiance inside is really nice.

Best cocktails I've ever had ! The mixology here is perfection. Went here for my birthday did an easy reservation on their website. They made a cute sign and had a nice booth right next to the bar. I highly recommend coming here because of the atmosphere. The bar tenders were really friendly. The regular were friendly too. Lots of free parking in the back lots I recommend getting the bowl if you want a cool fire show. The nutty chi chi was my favorite

Mary @ Tonga Hut is everything. She works at a high volume tiki bar and makes Scorpion after Scorpion and does it with a smile. I loved being here and would love to come when they open as to simply sit at their bar for the afternoon would be great. So LA. So San Fernando Valley and blissful. This tiki bar is one for the history books and a good business deserves a good review. The drooling fool is not to be missed or depending on how many Mai Tais you've had, actually ..... kissed. Why ? because. Yolo.
