10/10 vibes, food, and service! Such a fun spot to eat and chat with friends. They even have some couches and comfy seating and it's such a vibe! The food is delicious and you get a good portion (at least for their salads). Really flavorful and filled with lots of fresh yummy toppings. Didn't get any this time but they have a nice selection of alcoholic drinks (even wine).

I've only ordered delivery from Uber Eats so I can't speak on the service or ambiance, but I've always been happy with what I've ordered! Are they the most authentic tacos in LA? Probably not, but they're really yummy regardless. I especially like the baja fish tacos. The mahi mahi is always nicely fried and crispy even after traveling some ways to get to me. And the chipotle sauce adds a nice sweetness. Another favorite of mine are the chicken tinga tacos. The lime pepita mole is delicious and the fried onions on top add a nice crisp. I've also gotten the house quesadilla, and while the achiote chicken and mushrooms were nice and the chipotle crema made for a tasty dipping sauce, I thought the quesadilla could be a little bit cheesier. My only complaint is the portion size for the guac is almost laughably small. The one time I ordered it, I ended up with way more plantain chips than I could ever use to scoop up the puny little glob of guac I received, which is a shame because I liked the guac and thought the pomegranate and pepita seeds were a nice touch!I'll definitely keep ordering from Tocaya but I'll probably stick with their tacos since that's what they seem to do best!

I have done take out twice and what I can say is the QUALITY AND FLAVOR of every dish we (my partner and I) have gotten has been AMAZING! We are sensitive to salt, the food is not salty (we do request this), but they easily accommodate it! First came we came in, we were walking by and happen to pop inside. The restaurant is lovely and specious. Plenty of seating, clean, and beautiful decor (felt very classy). The cashier helped us out in the order and didn't want more than 10minutes. Dishes tried: - Tocaya Salad with side of Asada. YUM! - Chicken Tinga Bowl (was good and got beans on the side. This was probably the saltiest of Al dishes but overall delish).Second time we ordered online. Again dishes came out the exact way we wanted and flavor was great!- Shrimp torta: SOOO GOOD AND FLAVORFUL! - pineapple bowl: again another 10/10 Highly recommend and will come and order more food for sure!

This is my second time trying Tocaya & both times it did not disappoint. Their Guacamole and chips is soo good I could eat this alone. Their Birria tacos are flavorful and tasty. The spicy margarita is a little too spicy for my liking but I'll definitely have to try some of their other drinks. My friend ordered the tamarindo margarita and she loved it. The Ambiance of the restaurant is very modern but nice . Parking at the La and Hollywood locations are not the best. (Street parking )But I would definitely return .

Tocaya | Los Angeles 1. Chips & salsa ~ house-made tortilla chips & roasted tomato salsa2. Street corn ~ hand-shucked corn grilled to perfection, seasoned w chipotle powder & dusted with quest cotija3. Shrimp & mahi mahi ceviche ~ shrimp & mahi mahi ceviche 4. Barrio & Baja tacos ~ shaved cabbage, sweet chipotle sauce, cilantro, vegan chipotle cream, house-made blue corn tortilla \ roasted tomato salsa, avocado, directed red onion & cilantro 5. Mango & strawberry margarita Want a better option than Chipotle? Tocaya is a Mexican establishment that utilizes bold flavors and fresh ingredients to create modern Mexican dishes. They offer salads, tacos, burritos, bowls, and quesadillas in a sophisticated, fresh-casual setting. Everything that I ordered was super fresh and shareable. From the tacos to the ceviche, you can instantly tell they use high-quality ingredients for all their dishes. I found that everything on the menu was reasonable in price and healthy. I would definitely come back to try out their bowls next time!

New favorite Taco Tuesday spot! The food was very flavorful, tortillas are freshly made it seemed, the agua Fresca wasn't too sweet (Cucumber Mint Limeade was delicious!) and the vibe is low key and chill. They do play music but it's not too loud to where you can't have a good conversation with friends that are joining you. I had the Tinga, Carne Asada, and the Baja taco. All 3 were great! I can't wait to go back and try more!

I was in Santa Monica and tried Tocaya on a friend's recommendation. Wow, I had no idea this place existed! As a mostly vegan person, i.e. I sometimes have to make concessions for dairy, I usually assume there is little I can eat but this place surprised me by having some nice vegan options. I had the spicy cilantro verde bowl with the vegan chicken and cheese. It was so good and filling. Washed it down with a tasty beer and it was really satisfying. The service was good and the ambiance is fine for this sort of restaurant. Probably better than average. I highly recommend this place. So glad I found out about it!

I was feeling vegany the day I visited, but when I got there, the Yucatan salmon chop salad was calling to me instead. It looked like it was going to have a lot of varied veggies in there under the salmon (kale, romaine, squash, beans, corn, red cabbage, radish)... but honestly every bite was 90% romaine, which was disappointing, because the salmon itself was perfectly blackened, spiced, and cooked just barely past rare, the exact way I like it.Thus, the dressing that came with it was sorely needed, which made me have to choose between using it for its intended purpose or using it to dip my slightly burnt-tasting plantain chips in.I know this review sounds like a two star, but the salmon really was fantastic, and while I usually couldn't care less about ambience, this is perhaps the most comfortable restaurant I've ever plopped my butt down in, with cushy lounge chairs complete with pillows, music turned down to an unobtrusive level, and beautiful high ceilings. This area of 'Old Hollywood' always seems to look like this inside, and I'm getting spoiled lunching here.

Absolutely amazing and delish and Clean foods. My daughter is celiac and not able to tolerate much dairy and spice. The cashier was amazing. He took into account all we inquired about and made sure her meal was made in good hands. We enjoyed it. Came back 3 times total in one week. She had the fried fish tacos, salmon and mahi mahi. I also had the asada and the birria. Bomb and clean. Never greasy. The gluten free burrito we got for my daughter was also amazing. I think it's a cassava tortilla. The plantains and guacamole was insanely on point.

The price point makes zero sense for this place. None of these bowls should be over $10, $12 tops with protein. What gap does this place fill that whole foods hot bar doesn't? and for less! I had nothing but optimism for this place. Great ambiance, the service was friendly and quick, and the food was decently good with a few stand out items but the value is just not quite right. Love the concept of a "healthy" chipotle model but for the price and what you get, you may as well save some coin and go to chipotle and just cut back on the cheese. You're getting your average bowl for $18-$25 if you care about adding meat or most items that make these bowls more substantial. I got the spicy cilantro verde bowl with chicken and spanish rice. The spanish rice tasted like it only did duo lingo for a month. And the queso? If you want soupy watery fake melted cheese by all means. If anything this place is serving up airplane food with a better personality. The dishes lack flavor and everything tastes so healthy that it's borderline artificial. There are a few standout stars however. Theirhomemade chips were absolutely delicious, great drinks at a good price for HH, and they have a dessert order of churros that were possibly life changing. I'll be coming back for these items alone and the caramel sauce that comes with the churros? I'd buy a gallon of.If you're vegan or vegetarian I could see this place being a great option but otherwise you're honestly better off hitting chipotle or even a taco truck/stand to get the same thing for way cheaper and more flavor.
