#yumola! Toca Madre has the most amazing ambience. The outdoor patios be beautiful inside is gorgeous. The food was amazing! I don't remember what I ate and I'm gonna have to start being better about that, but I do know that they have a great happy hour and their drinks were fire. So if you're in the mood for some really good food and great drinks, you can never go wrong with Toca Madre! Our server was Finley helpful made great suggestions and really elevated our experience. That is a place where I would never get tired of going.

Decided to celebrate our 22nd Anniversary in Toca. We were impressed with the aesthetic, it was moody, beautiful but loud. Not the place if you're imagining a romantic night to celebrate. ( we didn't mind) it was very hip and busy considering it was a Tuesday night. We loved the food! We didn't have a single dish we didn't like! My favorite was the queso fundido. It was delicious! The drinks were also great! They didn't skip on the alcohol which was awesome! Now the cons.... SERVICE was severely lacking! Our reservation was at 6:30pm and when we came there were only 4 tables occupied, she mentioned we were celebrating our anniversary but did not greet us at all and immediately she told us that her tables are limited. I didn't even ask her to seat us in a nice table. I felt she immediately had a negative energy. She also did not give us the Toca Tuesday menu which is like a happy hour menu. I had to ask our waiter for it... 2nd let down is our waiter.... He got our initial order wrong and it was hard to flag him down if you wanted something. We spent almost $300 for 2 people, you would think he would celebrate our anniversary with a complimentary dessert like most restaurants would......3rd let down is the leaky ceilings as the previous reviews mentioned. I encountered it in the women's bathroom. They seriously need to get that fixed. It's kinda gross to be splashed with water when you don't know where it's coming from. Plus mold issues can set in if they don't get that fixed.

Came out here on the weekend with some family and friends for some non-birthday celebrations. We hadn't seen each other in a while so this seemed like the perfect spot for a get-together. Only one problem: with how dark it was and how loud it was with, we could barely see or hear each other all night so we spent the better part of two hours squinting (okay, a little exaggeration here) and yelling (no exaggeration here). Outside of that, it was a great place. To start things off, I ordered a Ghost Rider margarita. It was really good and the presentation was beautiful. They light it on fire which is fun - but I wasn't sure if the fire was supposed to die down on its own or I needed to blow it out. I ended up blowing it out after it melted my straw. For the table, we got chips with salsa and guacamole (fun fact: pomegranate with guacamole is a great combo), the Ceviche Blanco and the Sashimi Mexicano. All the appetizers were great. For dinner, my wife and I shared the A La Roca (both carne asada and chicken) which comes with black beans and cilantro lime rice, and we ordered a side of street corn. Only gripe about this would be that my wife hates cilantro and we were told there's no plain rice and the cilantro is minimal in the rice - there was plenty of cilantro. She didn't eat it so more for me I guess. The entrees were really good, though. The server recommended we order the carne asada one step below what we'd normally order as it continues to cook on the hot plate so we got medium rare instead of the normal medium we'd order on a steak. Just a tip for those who might want to try it. For dessert, the group shared the churro bites which come with three dipping sauces (cream cheese, raspberry and chocolate). Very good but we were all very full by that point. They also brought out a complimentary dessert (brownie) for the celebration we were there for which was a nice gesture. Our server Justin was kind and knowledgeable all night regarding any questions we had as most of us were there for the first time. Note: they have valet for $16 which is convenient if you're there on a weekend given how busy it can be in West Hollywood.

Had an early reservation and showed up about 15mins late. The hostess was very helpful and understating.. The service was great. One persons made sure the water was full and the others took the order. It was a little cold but for being so dark really wasn't an issue. The bar was really nice.I ordered the PAPASITO to drink in hopes that the presentation would be all I seen on line, it was not. There was absolutely nothing special about this drink. For dinner I had the Al La Roca Carne Asada. I ordered this steak cooked medium and should have went for medium rare the steak continued to cook and ended up being more well done. Definitely recommend ordering this but medium rare. The fries were not special, they looked amazing but the sauce was a complete disappointment.

The restaurant is was beautiful inside and had a very Tulum like feel. The fire dancer was great and very entertaining! From where we were seated we couldn't hear the DJ but it was fine. All the food was delicious and my favorite dish was the calamari. Service was great and our waitress was very attentive. I can't wait to go back and try more dishes.

This place has been on my list for a while. Love the Ambiance and vibes here. Very sexy after dark. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Food highlight was the CRISPY WONTON TACOS. Those were so yummy and flavorful! I can eat 100 of them ha ha ! The plaintain chips that come w/ the guacamole and salsa are yummy as well! Drinks were cute and tasty. NOBLE BURGER was pretty basic. Curley fries taste like the ones from Jack in the box. TRUFFLE MAC + CHEESE w/ LOBSTER was watery. Cool little fire show in the evenings. Will probably come by and check out their brunch.Parking: Valet / Street metered parking.

Toca Madera has been on the list of places to try for a while. Took the opportunity to have my birthday dinner here and it did not disappoint! First, we were about 15 minutes late which they were so gracious about (thank you!!) and they had a nice table by the window set up for our group of 7. Loved the posh decor. For drinks, I got the Los Muertos which I believe is tequila based with blood orange and lime. Everyone's drinks were really good and unique - specialty cocktails that were actually special. We did family style for everything, so we ordered the shishito peppers, guacamole, crispy wonton tacos, hamachi sashimi, toca caesar, truffle Mac n cheese, tomahawk steak, and branzino.Shishito peppers were surprisingly spicy, so beware to anyone who can't handle heat too well. I personally liked it. The guacamole came with plantain chips topped with salt which I LOVED. The savory sweetness paired so well with the creaminess of the avocado. We got an order of the yellowfin tuna crispy wonton tacos and one of a5 wagyu ones. Both were delicious, as predicted. I especially liked the mango (I think?) that was paired with the fish. A hint of sweetness but with a meaty texture. The sauce (some kind of salsa verde?) on the wagyu taco was also lovely. The sashimi was tasty - what you can expect it to be. I suppose it's more of a carpaccio since it came in a tangy marinade/sauce. The Caesar salad was a nice fresh and green component to our meal. The truffle mac and cheese I was a little disappointed with. I thought the truffle flavor didn't really come through and by the time we got it, the top was a bit dry, kind of like it had been sitting under the headlamp for a while. Our mains were the tomahawk steak and branzino. We had the steak cooked medium rare and it was quite juicy. Worth it if you have people to split it with but I would definitely go for the smaller cuts when dining with less people. The different flavored salts it came with were fun to pair though. The branzino was delicate and delicious. Very succulent, flavorful, and cooked very well. It was my favorite out of the two mains. It was my birthday and they were so lovely to bring out a dessert with a sparkler. We were stuffed at this point but it was yummy and very much appreciated. I will say that service was a little unpredictable. We waited a long time after ordering to get our drinks. And some of our apps came after the mains. Granted, we did go during the evening rush so it's understandable for a larger group like ours. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for an upscale place with elevated Mexican fare! Had a wonderful experience here :)
