Ordered 3 eggs scrambled soft. Comes with potatoes and bacon (or ham) . Added a latte. Liked almost everything. Bacon was a bit meh. Thin. Had the proper bacon flavor crispy , was fine I spose. I thought the eggs were perfect. The potatoes too. Service was attentive, but there were only a few people here. Latte was not great. Too much milk, not enough coffee. Maybe a cap is the right way to go. Toast was a bit funny, not very "toasty". Warmed bread LIGHTLY toasted". Sourdough is tricky. All a bit hilarious, given the name on the place . Jam was very good. I liked the music. Jazzy classics. Overall enjoyed my meal and will be back.

New menu new owners, sadly it is not as good as it used to be. Everyone was nice. It's the food that was not up to par.

Oh bummer, I honestly wish I had read the reviews--at least the updated ones--before coming here last week. Toast Bakery Cafe used to be one of my favorite places to get brunch. I brought my boyfriend here, and I was so shocked to see that the menu had completely changed, the prices went up, and the food quality went down. My favorite banana french toast, which used to be gloriously made with banana cream and pecans, walnuts, or something like that, was gone. It's been many years, so please forgive me for not recalling the exact item off the top of my head. The staff was nice, but I just feel very sad and let down that this place has become what it is now. I think it's kind of deceiving to keep the same name but be under different management. That said, it's my fault for not checking Yelp beforehand. At least I've learned my lesson not to assume that those OG places I love will always stay the same. It's still a decent place to go if you're hungry, and the food isn't awful, but it's nothing remarkable. I honestly could've just made my own food at home. If you're visiting, everything else is closed, and you're craving something to eat, then sure, go here--but there are more affordable options nearby. Just my take. Of course, parking on that street is always hard.

This place used to be AWSOME! No longer. The food is just terrible at a more expensive price. The change of ownership will have to be the reason this business will tank and not stand the test of time. I ordered the tuna melt and i felt like i cheated myself for paying for such a disgusting dish. The sandwich was so bland and looked sad af overall. The portions changed to less and the prices changed to more. Subway tops this anyday. Decided we (my girl and i) would go and stay (still giving it a try) hoping the food quality was the same and the different menu was a red flag as we normally order the smoked stack sandwhich which is discontinued. They also don't have a dog menu anymore. The vibe is ass and they seemed to have let go of all the friendly hardworking employees there. All the current employees look like angry women. They don't cook their food with love and it is very apparent. Sad to see one of my favorite spots to enjoy brunch turn to shit.

My husband and I went to toast for a little lunch date. We were drawn in by their outdoor seating but unfortunately it was all full so we ended up eating inside. Once inside, we were seated immediately but never brought menus until we asked. Then suddenly different servers kept coming up to our table asking if we were ready to order despite just getting our menus. It's felt a little unorganized. Once we ordered, the food came in about 15 minutes. It was tasty but overall we felt that the prices on the menu didn't justify it. There are plenty of brunch spots just like this in LA that are a better deal and with food just as good. The prices on their menu are also listed as paying in cash and they charge another 3% for using a credit card. Will pass next time

I have been wanting to try Toast for some time. I noticed that the place looks very different than what I remembered it, apparently, due to the pandemic and change in ownership. It now gives Corner Bakery vibes. The place was fairly empty for my late lunch. It was moderately clean, but the menu and table felt sticky. I had the chicken pesto sandwich with fries. Even though it had a good amount of chicken and the ciabatta bread was fresh, it lacked that strong pesto flavor. The fries were bland and had no seasoning. For $18, this sandwich was overpriced and nothing special. Service was average. I had to look for someone to seat me and to get the bill. Food came out in about 10 minutes. They do have a nicer outdoor seating area, which I would recommend over their indoor space if you choose to dine here.

The food was good not great but the service and ambiance were very nice. We had a French dip sandwich, a chicken crepe, French onion soup, and sweet potatoes. This is the rare time I'll go 3 but neither the service nor food were remarkable, the ambiance outside however is worth the food. The food itself was not worth the high price but wasn't bad either, thus a 3. If need an outdoor space with better than decent food than this could serve.

I think management has changed. My chilaquiles were stellar but the cleanliness of the space left a lot to be desired. It was like no-one had vacuumed, dusted, or performed a general cleaning in a while. My potatoes were also solid as a rock and unseasoned and my orange juice tasted like it was from concentrate. This place was once so vibrant. If I go back, I would eat outside, order the chilaquiles, and beg to substitute the potatoes.

There is plenty of restaurants on 3rd but I always want to try Toast Bakery Cafe, and finally got a chance to come with my baby boy (a big not friendly Rottweiler). We mentioned the staff about my boy, the staff helped us to set up a corner for us and provide water for my dog. The lovely lady knock on the window to let us know food is ready (cute and smart)! I love the restaurant decorated with lots of photo and food art. They included a recipe on the wall and I'm going to try it . It was a great experience to dine in here with dog!

I ordered a panini - there was hardly any meat, it was cold, the bread was a bit soggy, it was on a ciabatta bread type, it was small, there was hardly any sauce, and it wasn't flat. It was like eating a college dorm version of a 3am pizza using whatever bread and meat you had lying around. It was not worth the $18-20ish dollars. Everything else was also so expensive. $20 for avacado toast. The people who served us were very nice and fast. They took the water too fast. We paid and got ready to go (using the bathroom, etc.), and they cleared the water immediately. I noticed at another table that they also asked for the check to leave, and they got their waters cleared immediately. It felt very rushed to get out when the place was pretty much empty and we were already in the process of leaving.
