I used the reviews on yelp to find this place!.So as we walk in its a small restaurant which was clean, simple and had some art work on the walls near the entrance representing Los Angeles. Right away we were acknowledged and seated... this is a bonus. The manager Jahir was very friendly and attentive. His service was so amazing that because my friend and I weren't sure what drink to choose he let us sample them all!!! They had the aqua's Fresca which I liked the Hibiscus flavor and my friend chose Tamarind. The food all around was all homemade even the tortillas!!!, however the sauces were amazing hot but not fiery which gave lots of flavor!!!! Yummy!!!This place is a golden gem. A place that not only treats you like you're a part of their kitchen but provides a positive experience. The overall visit was DELIGHTFUL which is the word that best describes Tlayuda.!!Go support and try it yourself because trust.... You're getting good quality, authentic Mexican food!!! 10 THUMBS UP!

My friend and I were looking for a late lunch spot since we were starving, and Tlayuda happened to be nearby so we decided to check it out.We came on a Sunday afternoon around 4:30 pm and it was pretty empty with only one other customer in the restaurant. Luckily we found street parking right around the corner, but it didn't look like there was much parking available in this area. The restaurant is quite small and we missed it the first time driving past. Had to circle around again before we spotted it. As the name suggests, their specialty is the tlayuda, which I would describe as a Mexican pizza made using a large tortilla. There's a nice description and picture of one on the front of the menu.Because I was starving, I wasn't feeling particularly adventurous and decided to get the carne encebollada ($16.50) instead, which is a plate of grilled meat with onions, rice, beans, and tortilla. Rice, beans, and meat, you can't go wrong with that combo!I asked for half chicken and half steak so I could try out two different meats and was really glad I did. I liked the chicken more than the steak since it was juicier and more tender. It was a lot of food, but for me it was the perfect amount, and I finished everything off. This meal hit the spot and was exactly what I wanted. My friend got the enchiladas verdes ($15.50) and enjoyed his food as well. The owner was super nice and gave my friend some mole to try when he was considering getting the enchilada de mole but wasn't sure if he would like mole since he's never had it before. That was really nice of her to offer!

Love the greetings from a very nice person. Their speciality is Tlayudas, but thought for the first time I'd stick with tacos. Next time I will be more adventurous and try them.

The food here was pretty average. Although have vegan and vegetarian options on their menu, the actual dishes are a bit plain and under-seasoned. The horchata was also a bit watered down and not flavorful enough. One plus is that the service was excellent and workers were friendly, but I probably wouldn't come back here for the food again.

Please stop settling for fast food Mexican pizza and make your way to Tlayuda LA for the real thing. We came here for the tlayudas, (large tortilla with beans, lettuce, cheese and meat - like a Mexican pizza) but everything we tried here was homey, made to order and soso good, down to the kids meal! It's a simple, casual dine-in spot off Santa Monica Blvd near the 101 entrance, but it seems like a lot of people get their orders to go. Finding street parking on a Sunday afternoon wasn't fun even when it's free that day. I appreciated all their street/pop tlayuda art that was displayed throughout the restaurant. They have a lot of food options, such as a vegan menu. We also really enjoyed their mole which is hard to come by! Definitely coming back for another tlayuda and their breakfast.

If you're looking for authentic Oaxacan Mexican food this is your spot! I went and as soon as I walked in, all the staff were so kind ( the owner Laura as well!) and made my visit really amazing. The restaurant is smaller but it was still very beautiful and cute inside. They have a lot of amazing decorations and bright, colorful walls, so you really feel like you stepped inside Oaxaca. The food itself was also really good and the portions were big and enough to take home for leftovers the next day ( which for the prices are super fair!) I'll definitely come back and visit again and bring my friends. This is also one of the few places I've seen in LA do horchata and Mexican hot chocolate really well.

My daughters and I were in the mood for some tacos but I didn't want to go to some typical taco place. So I decided to try this local family owned place with a menu of homemade entrees that not only served our taco cravings but had other offerings and flavors that sounded so good that we had to try this place out! After we received our meals and sampled each dish from everyone at our table, we realized that their pork was so delicious! We're looking forward to coming again. Service was awesome and really friendly. The ambiance was great with their cute murals and decor. Enjoyed our meal immensely!

So I ordered the beef tacos and a soda. I literally took one bite and a hair was in my food. I couldn't get myself to get something else as it grossed me out. Never coming back!
