There is ALWAYS a line for this place and there's a reason! It's cheap and delicious! They seem to be known most for their baked goods. They have a take out window where you can order everything on the side. I love red bean buns and got the steamed buns. My friend got the sesame buns and those were great as well with the red bean paste inside. My other friend loved her baked goods, she got a bun with cream in the middle. The line for the takeout window moved quickly. You can also order more food/entree choices in addition to the baked goods.

I wanted to try a scallion pancake while in Chinatown since I never tried one before and they sounded appealing to me after reading about them on some Chinese recipe blog. Tian's was one of the few nearby restaurants that make it.I called in a to-go order to bring back to my hotel. I was told it would be ready in 10 minutes. I was just across the street when I called so I arrived about 3 minutes later, at 6 PM, and when I walked in there were exactly zero customers inside. For reference, it is the night after Christmas. I also stayed in Chinatown last night. Plenty of the other restaurants in Chinatown were slammed and full of customers both nights, all night long.My order was ready already when I arrived. Weird. I immediately knew it should have taken longer to prepare since I had been reading about how to make it recently. The pancake was bland, very greasy, and came with no dipping sauce. Not even a single soy sauce packet, which I totally would have appreciated. On the blog I read, it seems like a labor intensive dish for a home cook. I cook way more than I eat out. But I didn't feel the effort would be worth it to make this item at home. So I wanted to try it in Chinatown to see what it is supposed to look and taste like, in case I ever do decide to try to make it.After this experience I don't think I will try to make it at home. And I also would not put this restaurant on my list of places to eat at again the next time I am in Chinatown. I hate waiting in lines. But apparently In Chinatown, there is a good reason some places have long lines, and some no line at all.

This place is an absolute hole in the wall with exterior bathrooms and one employee that didn't speak any English... I'd have it no other way. It was definitely no frills. We chose it because it was where we were driving through, had dim sum and the prices were affordable. We had a shrimp fried rice, hagow, siu mai, lo bak go and some dumplings in chili sauce. Everything was good! I was terrified when she said we had to go outside to use the bathroom but it was one of the cleanest bathrooms I've ever seen in a Chinese restaurant. I'd go again!

Excellent cheap eats! Decided to get dim sum for lunch. Nothing fancy here. But the food is cheap and good!

The congee is a huge portion worth the price and the siu Mai is very good. Not our favorite dim sum place, but the quantity is good and the quality is definitely better than anything you can get in West La. Service is quick and prompt. Our favorite is the bbq pork roll in the scallion pancake. It's greasy but delicious!

I hadn't had dim sum in a minute, and while in Chinatown, I came across Tian's for an early brunch. Tucked away on Hill Street, it's a small, family-run restaurant and we were greeted warmly by the owners. Service was great, as they were very attentive and offered suggestions of what to order.Unfortunately, the food could've been better: we ordered an array of different dim sum dishes, including egg custard bun, scallion pancakes, chicken feet, and radish cake. The egg custard bun and chicken feet were decent, but the scallion pancakes and radish cake were not good: the former was so overly greasy I couldn't eat more than one and the latter was mushy and disintegrated upon picking it up. The pan-fried dumplings weren't Shanghai-style, but literally just steamed pork buns that were barely toasted: inside was also dry and inedible.I really wanted to like Tian's, because of the stellar service, but the food was just not good. Honestly, I'll just go to SGV for my dim sum fix next time.

A variety of tasty food to order from. The menu is extensive. However, unable to order a catering order online through GrubHub, as directed to do. Tian's doesn't have a website. We went to the restaurant and ordered from the counter and paid cash which brought the total food order down significantly. All in all, our department enjoyed a great lunch despite the hassle to get it.

In the heart of Chinatown, we were able to find some quick dim sum with a minimal wait. The people who we ordered with were very friendly. The food we ordered was delicious and fresh. We had siu mai, bbq pork buns, and soup dumplings. They have a few tables inside and outside, and there is metered or paid parking available nearby.

I have ordered from Tian's 3 times in the last month. The easiest, tastiest option on Uber Eats right now! The pork buns! The salt and pepper tofu! The red bean pancakes! Holy heck everything I have gotten is just tremendous! It's really difficult to think of anything other than those soft, pillowy buns. Like I honestly might order again tonight it's so good.
