The San Fernando

Went with friends to eat here for Dine LA . I ordered the Vegan Linguine Bolognese that came with a side salad and glass of wine. The food was really good, and I was surprised this spot had great menu choices. My friends ordered the burger and mussels and enjoyed them fully!

It was my birthday yesterday, and my boyfriend and I were exploring Glendale and the Glendale Galleria. On our way to the mall, we passed The San Fernando and decided to check it out for dinner and some drinks to end the day.When we got there we thought the outside patio looked fun, but it was very cold so we sat inside. We sat at the bar, and the bartender Sean helped us throughout the night. It was very relaxed, warm, and good energy. I had a couple glasses of their house Chardonnay. You can never go wrong, crisp and easy to drink. My boyfriend enjoyed their cocktails, a couple old fashioned and a whiskey sour. If my boyfriend wanted a slight change to his drink, Sean knew exactly what he wanted. The food was amazing. I got the steak frites, my boyfriend got the burger, and my steak came with plenty of fries so we shared those. The chimichurri sauce was so delicious my boyfriend put it on his burger.It was so much fun chatting with Sean and some of the others at the bar. Everyone there seemed to know Sean and asked when he was working next. He was very knowledgeable about the liquors and wines that we were drinking. Everything was very enjoyable and comfortable. I've already recommended this place to a couple of my friends who just moved to Glendale.I wish I took more photos, but I guess I was just having too much fun.

The clown bartender from Ireland thinks he knows spirits. He doesn't. Call him out on his bullshit. He will tell you 10 times he's from Ireland. Big deal. The guy knows nothing about great whiskey or whisky. Bullshit artists are a dime a dozen these days. *You should go to another bar for great cocktails.

The food and atmosphere are great! My boyfriend and I love coming at least once every couple of months. They also have quick service and friendly staff.

The San Fernando now has a monthly drag bingo event, which is a godsend for a Glendale starved for LGBT+ events. Because I visited on a Wednesday, the Buffalo wings were a good deal, at $1 each. And thank you to the flirtatious waiter, whose name I don't know.This is a nice neighborhood watering hole.

We came during happy hour. Good vibes and friendly service, happy hour margarita was good but food was subpar. Wings' buffalo sauce and ranch didn't taste homemade and were tart and dull.The fries were good but the sliders were a bit greasy, the plant based ones were dull and plain. Has plenty of street parking near and bathrooms.Good bar lighting and outdoor seating although we ate inside.

The food is mediocre and overpriced. The drink options were limited. Service is moderate. The inside of the restaurant is too cold and the outdoor section needs more decorations and warmth.

Asked my friends to meet me here for early bday drinks on 10/3 (Friday). Bar tenders/servers were attentive and friendly, drinks were good, and both the indoor & patio areas were nice. I think I like the patio more. I hesitated to post this review because I don't think a ton of people know about The San Fernando, and I don't want it to be overcrowded lol

Solid drink specials, good old fashioneds, good wings. This place is a hidden gem. Always low key and has space. The bar tenders are always making sure you are taken care of. Overall the perfect place to just get a drink and chill.

I've only been here once and the cocktails are solid. This place looks like a dive bar but the drinks say differ. It's not just your basic rum & coke. These drinks are elegant and anyone with a discerning taste would agree. This is like your diamond in the rough. There is bar service as well as table service with delicious bites. I didn't realize until later that our server was also our bartender. He was amazing. I would have had 5 dirty martinis if I could. I will go back.
