If you're looking for a steakhouse in the golden triangle area, would pass on this place. First impressions are everything and being seated 20 min after our reservation time was not ideal. Understand things happen and can run behind but for a restaurant of this caliber, expected better. It didn't help that the waiting area was super small and hectic. Had to constantly move out of the way for bussers/severs with large trays being carried overhead. Live music performer was talented but volume was way too loud. Our server misheard multiple things despite us shouting because it was so loud (even though the table was a small 4 top). Another disappointment was that we all ordered the same cut of meat and had the same cook time preference yet half were overcooked. Thought it would be fun trying out a new place but sticking to much better steakhouses like Steak 48

Last visit Nov '24 -- Frequent diner and I feel like it's 5 stars for consistency! Every single time I've dropped in the food, service, and ambiance is the same. While Mastro's may not be considered the best of the best, I've never had to send anything back nor has service ever fallen short.Frequent orders: petite filet, lobster bisque, broccolini, gnocchi, branzino, garlic mashed potatoes, and a MUST: the butter cake.

Our server, Lamont, who shared he was also training to be a manager was amazing. He made sure we were taken care of all night. My hubby and I were celebrating our anniversary and several staff stopped by to give their well wishes. My petite filet was cooked to perfection, the garlic mashed potatoes were delicious, Brussels sprouts served up with the perfect amount of bacon, Chilean Sea Bass was light and delicious, and the butter cake was a wonderful take home treat, compliments of Lamont. We enjoyed the live singing and festive yet romantic atmosphere. We will definitely return. Can't want to see Lamont as a manager as he will be able to lead by example.

My friend and I recently dined at the Penthouse at Mastro's in Beverly Hills and had a mostly enjoyable experience, though there were a few downsides that keep this review at four stars. The food was delicious-- 22 oz. Ribeye, Tuna Tartare and Chilean sea-bass were outstanding, and the Warm Butter Cake with ice cream was as exceptional as ever. Drinks were also on point; both the Pomegranate and Dirty martinis were excellent. However, the asparagus side was a bit underwhelming.The main issue, unfortunately, was with our server, Runzer. We arrived around 9:50 pm (we had a reservation booked for a few weeks) due to my flight landing late, and it felt like we were an inconvenience for him as his last table of the night. His demeanor was blunt and unpleasant, almost as if he didn't feel like serving us, which soured an otherwise solid dining experience.The penthouse is located on the 3rd floor of the building, accessible by elevator. The dining room is medium-sized, with an upscale, intimate ambiance. Overall, while the food and atmosphere were great, I've had better service--particularly at their Washington, D.C. location, where the service was impeccable.

I come here every year to celebrate my anniversary (except for one year during COVID), and to this day, it's still my favorite steakhouse. Everything--from the bread to the steaks to the sides--is consistently delicious. The service is always exceptional, and they truly know how to make your day special. This past anniversary, our waitress surprised us with a dessert platter--a really sweet gesture, even though it was a bit much for just two people. But moments like this are exactly why we keep coming back and recommending this place to all our friends. I can't imagine celebrating anywhere else and will probably be coming here for decades to come!

Another great dinner at Mastros Penthouse! Great service provided by Steve and Juan!!! Such great guys! Party of 9 celebrating a 60th wedding anniversary. We got there around 4:15ish and sat at the bar. Jamie took great care of us and made great drinks!!! Bar opens at 4pm and the restaurant opens at 5pm. We were seated in a beautiful room. The service here is always too notch! We requested Steve because we love him! He's very sweet and takes care of us when we come. Juan is also very sweet and polite! The food is always very yummy! We got appetizers, bread baskets, mains, sides, and dessert. Our table got a mix of steaks, sea bass, halibut, and salads. Sides were great and included crab fried rice (new to menu), scalloped potatoes, creamed spinach, creamed corn, baked potato, fries, broccolini, and I think that's it lol I love how the servers come around and ask if you'd like this or that for your sides and serve them on your plate. I love that! Thank you also to Christina in events for putting us at such a nice table/area to dine. Steve, like I said above, is just great and fun to talk to! He's attentive and kind. Thanks little pink ;-p hahahahaha

The food is good! I loved the bone marrow, carpaccio, mushrooms, and New York Wagyu.The service is above and beyond. The only thing we didn't like was an off menu item (Wagyu ribeye) that we were told was super tender, but it was half fat and tasted like fat...the waitress immediately took it away seeing our dissatisfaction. We didn't have to ask.We also appreciated getting a direct view of the live entertainment for our anniversary

We were there celebrating my birthday. We usually go to the Malibu one but it was closed. We were on the third floor. The service was very slow & the music was too loud.. We could not carry a conversation & we did not have food to eat! So we were staring at each other!It was an unexpected bad experience!

We usually have exceptional service but tonight it wasn't there. We were a table of 3. It seemed that the larger parties were getting the attention and our table was ignored by our server. ‍. She hardly came by to check on us. And since when don't they serve you your sides...?! I wanted my good friend to enjoy her first time at Mastros and I was disappointed that some of the expectations weren't there. However, the food was delicious! Thank you to the chef and kitchen !
