2nd time trying Jamaican food after being spoiled in Queens, NY, and it did not disappoint! I ordered the jerk chicken dark meat with rice and beans, along with a side of reggae bread and a ginger beer. The jerk chicken was mind blowing and packed with flavor--perfectly spiced with a great kick and tender down to the bone. The rice and beans complemented the chicken nicely, adding a hearty and filling touch. The reggae bread was a great choice for soaking up all those delicious sauces, and the ginger beer was the perfect refreshing drink to balance the spice. The restaurant also has welcoming staff, and it really felt like a vibrant community, with many Jamaican people hanging out, enjoying the food, and watching soccer together--such a great atmosphere! This place is one of my favorite restaurants in all of LA. If you're looking for authentic, incredible Jamaican food, The Jerk Spot is a must-try!

I wanted to try Jamaican food for the first time and a friend recommended this spot. I ordered the Jerk Chicken with Reggae Bread and it was pretty good, especially the Reggae bread! I also got the beef patty and that was delicious. I will say though, I felt that the person taking my order could've been nicer. The place is a bit small so I would take it to go.

I love Caribbean food to my core. This place is not on my list of places to revisit or recommend. The male chefs were helpful and outspoken upon entrance as I was beelining for the whole body snapper to which one of them expressed they did not have. He recommend the fillet and i was hesitant because i just prefer whole body fish especially from Caribbean establishment for obvious reasons - it almost always the best form. The flavor is always elevated.I conceded and ordered the jerk snapper fillet meal. The woman cashier had an unpleasant attitude and unhelpful spirit. I am used to the Jamaican women at the restaurants being very straightforward with no frills and smiles (i lived in NY for 9 years so iykyk) but her attitude was very different. I ignored it and proceeded to order. The wait was 15 minutes. The space gives off a traditional Caribbean establishment. A few tables, touches of the culture, plexi dividers around the counter leading towards the kitchen to prevent germs and such from customers and subtle reggaeton playing. I opened my food immediately when i got into the car because hunger. The rice lacked any track of coconut milk, bay leaves, thyme or even salt. I make better rice and peas by far. The veggie mix was cabbage carrots and broccoli (rarely have an ever had that within any of my Caribbean meals) all which had a crunch to them as in they were not cooked down and very flavorless. Not even salt. The snapper though saucey did not taste like jerk at all. No fresh herbs remnants, just a hint of pepper spice. It was the worst jerk snapper meal I've had. It just lacked flavor across the board.

Pretty good Jamaican food with reasonable prices, definitely would order to go since it's quite small there. They have jerk sauce to buy super worth it ! The boneless white meat jerk chicken is my go to and the salmon salad super yum

Loved the spices at this spot! They had a special on Friday when I went - the chicken and potato salad was only about $10. I ordered an extra side of reggae bread for about $5 and it was delicious. I ate inside to get the full experience but it seemed most people picked up. It might be because the parking lot is shared and a bit small. That said, because most people order to go, there were a lot of open spots. The inside seating had enough for about 8-10 people. I didn't see this as an issue because the store was also small. There was one Jamaican family that I spoke to and they were surprised I could eat the food because it is so spicy. They said that it was their favorite spot and they drove all the way from Palmdale to pick up dinner. I loved how the spices enriched the chicken. Reggae bread was my absolute favorite and I will be back to try the other items.

I hadn't had much exposure to Jamaican cuisine (with the exception of jerk chicken years ago), and I was keen on trying the food again. I ordered a plate of oxtail stew with rice and beans and plantains, as well as a chicken curry patty and sorrel drink. I ordered to-go and picked it up at the establishment. The restaurant is small, with maybe three or so tables inside; I figure most customers just order to-go or delivery. The sorrel drink was my favorite: cold, zesty, and refreshing, especially on a warm day. The chicken curry patty was pretty good, with a hearty crust and a filling with a decent spicy kick; I only wished there was more filling inside. Oxtail plate was massive, enough to fill three meals: the meat was tender and fall-off-the-bone: however, it was extremely salty and the rice and beans were bland. Wasn't my favorite of the three items I got, but I appreciated the portions.Overall, decent establishment for some Jamaican food. Maybe I'll try the jerk chicken sometime!

I was craving Jamaican food and found this place on Yelp. It had good Yelp ratings so I decided to give it a shot. The jerk chicken is tasty and juicy. The rice and plantains were delish too. The highlight was definitely their beef patty and curry patty! So crispy and stuff with filling. I'll definitely go back just to have the patties alone as a nice snack. We ate in the restaurant. They have 3 tables and most of the customers did take out. It was cool to see all the decorations related to Jamaica.

A simple place in a strip mall sandwiched between Del Taco, Toms and Wendy. But there is nothing simple about this gem.The jerk chicken and ox tails were excellent as were the sides of cabbage rice and beans and plaintains. The patties were flaky flavorful. The place is the real deal.Check them out.
