Having lived in Los Angeles since 2014, this is my first visit to the famous Ivy restaurant (if you can believe that)! I'm glad I got to finally experience this restaurant after seeing it so many times on TMZ (it's a frequent stop for celebrities, or at least USED to be). Now, I don't know anything about how popular it is compared to how it used to be but that is not really a factor in my review. I care more about the quality of food and service. The food did not disappoint! I had an excellent meal! While the service was a bit slow, I did go on a Sunday night and there wasn't too many patrons there so perhaps that had something to do with it. The ambiance and decor of the restaurant was way different than I imagined though! It's small, quaint and VERY flowery! Lots of flowers/roses all over the place. It's not a bad thing. Very romantic I would say. All in all, I would definitely return and try some of the other dishes on the menu.

We came for reservations to this famous LA spot and enjoyed the beautiful displays of roses of assorted colors, artwork throughout and the brightly tailored waiters with flowery ties Seers were markedly uncomfortable with hard backs and limited cushion for the buttocks Waiters were overly attentive and the menu was diverse with specials of the day and the regular menu. Heard much of the crab cakesOrdered themAs appetizer. Within les than 5Minutes overly browned and mildly heated circular crab cakes were delivered. These areNot Maryland crab cakes and had a disturbing brownish interior which potentially was from the poor lighting. They were somewhat favorable but mostly stringy crab and nothing resembling a delicious eastern seabird crab cakeThankfully the roasted branzino and shrimp was a different story comprising a beautiful glazed buttery sauce on a perfectlyRoasted fish. Delectable Thankfully the mushroom and asparagus risotto was an overfilled vegetable filled risotto with a brownish sauce but tasted flavorful with hints of garlicSomeone ordered chicken enchilada and a kale salad nothing to write aboutI ordered an Arnold Palmer and received ice tea Overall an experienceMore of environment than food so it received from this eastern seabird NJer a fair scoreI suggest the chef learn how to make crab cakes with lump crab and not stringy mealy crabmeat

Really unfortunate that this beautiful restaurant has such poor service and mediocre food quality ... don't worry though... it's priced like Nobu Malibu. We were seated next to a loud, mostly drunk party of 6, our waiter took our water order and NEVER returned. 35 minutes later We found a host and ordered though her. We received a really sub par Seafood platter that wasn't fresh and mostly bland -- but at Mastro's pricing. Our entrees were very basic but good. We then waited another 20 minutes before hunting down a host soWe could pay and gtfo. The place is lovely, if blowing $400 on a $63 meal is what you're after. By the way, I'm being kind with that second star.

This restaurant was amazing. They have an excellent menu along with daily specials. They have both inside and outside seating. I made reservations for today and they got us right in. The restaurant has many different rooms inside. It is tastefully decorated in each room. Today, I had the fillet steak with eggs and it was great. The service is outstanding. It truly is a wonderful place to have lunch. Highly recommend recommended.

The Ivy is located in West Hollywood.Recommend reservations especially on the weekends. Aesthetically this place is very cute with beautiful floral decorations throughout. Seating is limited on the patio and all the tables are very close together so not the most intimate place to have personal conversations. Otherwise, service was on point from the moment we walked in. We were enthusiastically greeted at the hostess stand and I made note it was my friends birthday and the hostess immediately said happy birthday upon check in which was very thoughtful and kind. Our server was also very attentive and had great recommendations. The food was delicious. The menu is pretty extensive which was a pleasant surprise. They not only had a brunch menu, but lunch and dinner menu available as well during the weekend. It made the pickings quite difficult but we started with a cobb salad which was flavorful and filling. I decided to go with the ravioli corn ($32) and it did not disappoint. My girlfriend raved about the lobster pasta ($66) and it was huge! The drinks were also on point. I had the most beautiful sangria and it tasted just as good as it looked. It was so perfect for a lunch date with my bestie.Overall, this place has been around for years and still is a hot spot. They are doing something right because there was a line waiting to be seated when we left around 2pm. I can validate that the hype is real and will definitely be back.

I really enjoyed my lunch at the Ivy. It has a prime location at the West Hollywood/Beverly Hills border. This restaurant is a quintessential LA brunch/lunch spot serving an eclectic array of American and Italian cuisine. It has a long history in LA starting in 1980 and it's well known by celebrities as well. The meal started with fresh baked bread which came out warm and was served with butter. For appetizers we tried the shrimp cocktail and chips & guac. The shrimp were big and fresh and the guac also tasted fresh. Even the chips tasted home made. For the main dish I tried the grilled vegetable salad with zesty lime chicken. It came with lots of veggies including zucchini, corn, tomatoes, lettuce, asparagus, scallion, and avocado. It was all brought together by a lime vinaigrette. It was really filling and fresh. While the food was good in and of itself, what really makes this place stand out is the atmosphere. There's fresh flowers at every table and plants growing all throughout the restaurant. There's great lighting when sitting outside and they also have indoor seating. Our service was good, albeit a bit slow. The prices are a bit high but you do get a good portion size. You're definitely paying extra for the location and atmosphere. I would definitely come back to try their dinner options.

I am sure many of you reading this review are already aware that "The Ivy" is a very well-known upscale restaurant that is frequented by celebrities, lawyers, and people of wealth ever since its opening back in 1983. However, those that met me already know that I go to a restaurant based on food, service, ambiance, and experience while not looking too deeply into if it is a place that is gazed by the paparazzi. Since my lady was celebrating her birthday, we decided to dine here for lunch while trying this place out for the very first time. So take it from yours truly, Donovan H. to see what the fuss is all about.I will say that reservations are highly recommended; especially during weekends and evenings. However, we did not have a reservation and since I specifically told the female manager that there was only a party of 2 (while this was to be a birthday), she said "we'll take you in". I was (in a surprisingly good way) shocked! Even better is that we were able to park directly across the street. The location of this restaurant is directly on N. Robertson Blvd and just south of Beverly Blvd in Los Angeles. They do offer valet parking which is $18 for the the restaurant itself or $30 for public parking.Keep in mind that on any given day, this place does get packed and don't be surprised if you happen to come across any random celebrity sightings. I didn't see anyone that looked familiar but this place has had celebrities such as Reese Witherspoon, Demi Moore, J. Lo, Tori Spelling, Robert DeNiro, and Dustin Hoffman, just to name a few. Aside from the famous people that have dined here, this restaurant is also well known for this ever-changing eclectic menu, dazzling and colorful interior, and an exterior patio that looks more like a colorful wedding with flowers at every table.Going back to our experience here, we arrived at 1:25pm (during the afternoon of Saturday 10/12/2024) and got seated inside at 1:30pm. Not bad for an exclusive restaurant. Our waiter took good care of us as we started off with iced waters and complimentary blueberry scones complete with berry jam & salted butter. As for our lunch, I went with their "Soft Shell Crab Skillet" w/butter & lemon while she went with their "Pizza Margherita" and a "Catedral Mezcal Watermelon Margarita". Her beverage arrives in a couple minutes while our lunches both arrived only less than 10 minutes later. Props to our waiter who definitely took care of us from start to finish.I will say that my crab skillet was cooked to perfection as was her pizza. Many other Yelpers have mentioned this and I will add to their reviews that the prices here are insanely high. I won't go into too much detail but expect to spend a pretty penny when dining here. Don't get me wrong, the food here is delicious but the portions are a bit small for what you get. Aside from that, "The Ivy" is a restaurant that I do recommend checking out if you're a visitor to the Los Angeles area. But since I live in California, coming here isn't that much of a big deal. With that said and done, I am giving this place a respectable and above average four-star rating.

The Ivy off Robertson in Los Angeles is a great spot for a casual night out. It has that warm, family-friendly vibe that makes you feel right at home. The service is top-notch. The staff is super attentive and always there to refill your drinks.Their cocktails are amazing. I tried the gimlet, passion fruit margarita, and sangria, and they were all delicious. The food is also fantastic. While the steak was good, I'd recommend trying one of their fish or pasta dishes. My wife had the Branzino, and it was amazing. The lobster tagliatelle was no slouch either. And don't forget about the desserts! They're the perfect way to end a great meal.Overall, The Ivy off Robertson is a great place to go for a casual night out with friends or family.

This restaurant has valet parking which they park your car on the street not a separate lot. The tables and seats were so close to each other I almost fell and sat on someone. The food was okay..definitely not worth the price. It was heavily lacking in seasoning. The service was good though!

Food was excellent - truly best crab cakes I've ever eaten and everything was so fresh, natural tasting, and delicious.Service was very attentive and friendly. The door was very nice and sat me very quickly even though there was a wait. The ambiance is one-of-a-kind. It's such a relaxing oasis away from everything else.We brought our baby and it's very kid-friendly with high chairs, coloring pages, and staff who seem to love children.
