Dined there on Black Friday & had an excellent meal. I had the pork chop, which was cooked perfectly, which isn't easy to do, and the asparagus, mushrooms & sauce were excellent. My wife had the Cornish Hen which was also wonderful, and the Risoto was perfect as well. For dessert we had the Nutella Cheesecake. Not a crumb remained. Will definitely return!

We had a 7 PM reservation and arrived to find the restaurant less than half full. As we waited near the hostess stand, a bartender or busser walked by, saying, "We're very busy, just a moment." No problem--until five minutes later, when a server repeated the same phrase. Another five minutes passed before what seemed to be a manager also told us, "We're very busy, just a moment." At that point, we got it--you were busy. But instead of making us stand there awkwardly, why not just seat us and let us wait at the table?A small suggestion: since there's a bar in the restaurant, it would have been great if someone had offered, "Why don't you have a drink at the bar, and we'll grab you when your table is ready?"Once we were finally seated, a water bottle was placed on the table, and the server walked away. We eventually ordered cocktails--one, the "Lover Come Back," was supposed to have muddled strawberries but instead looked like vodka with orange juice. The other, "Dark Victory," was overly vinegary and unbalanced.Appetizers (stuffed peppers and chili soup) were fine, though no one checked in on us at any point. The entrées arrived much later and were underwhelming. The chicken dish included just two asparagus spears, and my rib-eye (as there were out of the Pork Chop & the Lamb dish!) was served with only an arugula salad garnish--definitely should have ordered sides (missed upsell opportunity by the server, but that was on me).One bright spot: we brought a bottle of wine, and toward the end of the meal, the staff informed us they wouldn't charge a corkage fee, which was appreciated.Overall, this was our first visit, and unfortunately, it will be our last. While we understand being short-staffed, it was surprising that a Saturday night after Valentine's Day wasn't even at full capacity. With this money spend, the experience just didn't justify a return visit--especially with so many other dining options available.

Richard B as the owner would like me to speak to him before posting a negative review. As the owner,If you were present the night we complained about the quality of every single dish to the wait person, I would assume you would have breached onto me.I was sitting there in your restaurant. Did the wait person not communicate with you? That sounds like a you problem. I want you and your restaurant to succeed-I've wanted to eat there since you opened.

We have been to the George several times. Consistently great service from staff. The food was very good. I recommend the arancini. The ambiance is cool with an "old Hollywood" vibe. The George is a great option for East Pasadena

Came here the other day for brunch, hadn't heard of the spot so that's always fun when you find something new. It's in North Pasadena, feeling more residential and homey, away from the bustle that is south Pasadena and Colorado Blvd. One thing that stood out upon entering was the live music being played, which is always a nice touch, though it made it harder to have a conversation amongst the group. We each got a different entree amongst ourselves. The Not Your Mama Biscuit was a cheddar and chive biscuit with a buttermilk friend chicken on top, covered with a basil and berry compote. The fighter was fried well, nice crispiness on the outside and juicy on the inside, though it could use a bit more seasoning. The berry compote gave a nice juxtaposition to the chive and cheddar biscuit. The egg Sammy was just that, with a nice amount of cheese. It comes with a spicy garlic aioli, though they didn't stand out in any way.. Could have definitely used more on the sandwich to bring there flavor forward. The truffle chips are made in house and we're very good. Finally, the Nova Lox Toast was their version of a lox bagel, and this was probably the biggest let down of the table. All in our group agreed that we've had better elsewhere. Overall, decent brunch spot with live music away from the busy-ness of South Pasadena.

I absolutely love this place! It's right around the corner from our house and always able to seat you when you arrive. It's a cute gem in our city of Pasadena. Really enjoy the ambiance inside. I've grown up in Pasadena my whole life and specially right on this street in Washington, but once I walk in here I feel like I'm in a different area. Their decorations, service and food is just so tasty. I've tried a bunch of different items my favorite the Brussels sprouts, their burger is beyond amazing, cauliflower hummus, the steak... and so much more. Everything is freshly made in house from scratch. It's definitely a must try! I wish I took pictures but didn't make it too lol food was finished. And we got some dessert to go of beignets so good!

I am so thankful my friend introduced me to this place. We wanted a dinner spot that had great drinks, great food, and a chill/quietish ambiance and this place had that! This unassuming restaurant transports you to a different place when you walk in. I loved the chill and fancy vibe that it gives you. The libations / cocktails all had their creative names but mostly the drinks were fresh! "Once a Sinner" sounded like a strong cocktail but surprisingly it was refreshing. My friends and I knew the ingredients were fresh. I convinced my friend to try to cauliflower hummus. She was a skeptic but glad we did. It had a great seasoning and spice. We ended up dipping our fries into it. All of us had the burger and it was not a disappointment. Again you can tell the freshest ingredients were used. The patty was thick and juicy. The temperature on it was perfect. To me the bread took the burger over the top! Definitely a place to come back to and recommend to my friends.

My friend took me here for a birthday dinner. What a lovely neighborhood spot. WE we started with cocktails, naturally. She an old fashion and me a martini. Well made and also great prices. Can't complain at all. We started with the Brussels and stuffed peppers. Great way to start a meal. Then on to the mains. I had the catch of the day and she the steak. So good. I didn't think I would like the mash with cabbage but it was really nice. Unique. We had a lovely table by the window. However I wish there was more booths. Overall the decor is cute, if a little cliched. But I don't think it matters because the locals vibe is great. Definitely worth a visit.

Located on a sleepier side of town and giving off neighborhood gem vibes so I really really wanted to like The George. The food was just very okay with ok prices but in a charming, modern- bougie vibe restaurant. Brunch live music was very welcoming. There was really nothing outstanding with the food. The frittata was disappointingly overcooked, the biscuits and gravy was underwhelming, egg was trying really hard to almost be runny but just past done, bloody mary was barely the basics, and Crispy Baby Potato side was sadly not crispy (in fact more soggy on the bottom). Everything we ate felt like a huge disconnect between the good looking restaurant and the inviting menu to the rather dull meal. Service was good and parking was in the neighborhood streets around the corner.

Takes credit cardMade reservation on ResyLike people said, ambiance is like 1920's. Great accent ivy wall and ivy in the ceiling. There's a popcorn machine where you can self serve popcorn. Excellent service. Celebrated a birthday here The cocktails were really good. The Great Lie was excellent. Happy hour from 4pm-6pm I wanted the lamb shank but they sold out. Hot fried chicken appetizer- super tasty, super most chicken breast. The pickled vegetables was perfect to add to the chicken. Brussel sprouts - perfectly cooked. Perfect amount of acid. Cornish hen with risotto - risotto was excellent. It tasted super delicious. The meat was soft and tender. Pork chop- cooked appropriately but flavor was boring, didn't have much marinade. Chefs cut steak- steak was average
