Everything I've eaten here is amazing (I've only done take out). I really appreciate the value (it is not overpriced) and the variety of dishes from all over India. Highly recommend.

I've been to Taj Mahal on Pico, a modest establishment with a nice buffet, including delicious stews with perfect sauces, and very good chicken. It's very comforting food which, I opted not to "spice out" as I didn't think I could handle very spicy levels. It might be the perfect setting for romancing, too. Service is kind and prompt. I always enjoyed my experience.

The food is here is so good, one of the best Indian restaurants I have ever eaten at. Definitely Top 3 for me, and it's an authentic, modest mom-and-pop restaurant. Every time I go, they are so kind and sweet. Will do my best to support them as small business owners in the neighborhood.

Taj Mahal of India restaurant has been handing out tasty takeout and dine-in platters of delicious traditional Indian delicacies for over 15 years. This restaurant is family and minority owned and operated. Salom, the owner is originally from Bangladesh and he loves sharing Indian culture, heritage and food with newcomers and connoisseurs alike. Salom couldn't have chosen a more culturally diverse spot to set up shop, I think he knows what he is doing! This place is great for vegetarians, vegans, gluten free friends, Paleo, plant-based and keto diets. Taj Mahal offers catering, delivery takeout and dine-in options. The menu here is extensive. Appetizers, rice and biryani, tandoori and barbecue, 28 incredible vegetarian entrees, 17 different homemade curries and desserts. Try the vegetarian dinner special which includes rice, naan, riata, vegetable of the day, lentil of the day and rice pudding, for only $15.! I've eaten a couple of meals here recently and everything I tried was delicious. I love the embroidery artwork and pretty traditional decorations in the main dining room as well as the warm service. Here are some of my favorites: Vegetable samosa. It's light, flaky and filling. (Two per order) Indian iced tea and chai tea. Homemade mango chutney. The naan here is enormous. The Rasa Malai is a dessert with cheese curd dumplings and sweet cardamom milk. Five stars!I found this cool place while on an expedition to try and make different dumplings from around the world. While eating my lucky eyes got to see customers picking up big vegetarian family takeout meals during the month of Ramadan and hasidic neighbors observing the Sabbath while I had five made-from-scratch hummus which I compared to my favorite Kosher and halal restaurant's versions. Five stars. Gyoza, empanada, perogies, ravioli, shumai, ba wan, kreplach, baraka, pelmeni, mamti. Five stars samosa! Thanks Salom!

Experience: We walked over to the restaurant on a Friday evening around 7pm. Only one table was occupied and the rest were orders being picked up. The space is filled with canvas and artwork on the walls, carpet and rugs all on the floor, and a handful of tables on the right and left side of the restaurant, the middle is completely cleared out. We sat towards the window on Pico Blvd. We were handed two menus by a kind man. They have quite a few options, but all looked and sounded fantastic, also the price point wasn't terrible at all. Our drinks bread came out first, maybe 10 minutes after ordering, and a little over 5 minutes later the rest of the food. All delicious, owners were kind, and we left full and happy.Food: We ordered garlic naan, paratha, lamb curry, tofu spinach sag, and halwa. AMAZING. We asked for medium spice. The flavors were all intense but not overpowering, at first when it came out, the dishware was deceitful because it looked like one person could finish the main dishes, but no, the servings were perfectly portioned out for two people. The naan came in two large pieces, the paratha was probably one big piece but cut up in 4. The halwa was a different color and grainier from others that I've had but still delicious. We were so happy with our order. Parking: We walked over from our place, but plenty of free parking out front, or the side streets on Pico. On a Friday evening it is not busy. I think in general it is not too busy on week nights also. Customer service: Friendly and kind. Not aggressive or pushy. Immigrant ran business. No muss or fuss.Verdict: We will absolutely go back, I already have down what I want to order. It helps that we live so close. Happy we finally gave this restaurant a try. Please go and support, super delicious.

Imma be honest, their food is great. I've been their loyal customer for than 7 years. The manager (the lady) is the WORST. She calls her employees stupid just because they give good service to their customers. She gets upset (over the phone) and jumps to conclusions because she wants to charge for a tiny container of mint & tamarind chunty. She is greedy for money. Don't waste your time on this restaurant. Her behavior towards customer is so awful I don't mind NOT spending my money on her business. She don't know how to keep customers. What a disappointment.Oh and when I told her she was losing a long term customer, she legit said, "I don't care, I know my food is good. You won't find anything like mine". Uhm...wtf? Who says that to a customer? AHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA.

Food is amazing and price is right The only thing is that the decor is so messy and outdatedThe owner need to do new carpet and better chairs and remove all the old decors . The fans and curtains are unnecessary Also the restaurant would benefit from new dinner plates The one the restaurant use is very ugly and outdated The food & bread are tasty but the decor needs to be changed as soon as possible

The food her is fantastic. The vegetable biryani is the best I've ever had in my life... I dream about it. The chicken tikka masala, Vindaloo, Partha, paneer, raita, Samosa, Aloo gobi, Chana masala and naan are my favorites too. This place has so much potential if they redecorated and got proper plates. It would be PACKED. I think they use plates that they no longer use from their house. It's cute you feel like you're eating at an Indian persons house but as a restaurant no one wants to eat there. The decor is very crowded and the seating is not nice. It looks like a hole in the wall and uninviting. The pots they serve food though in is very cute and the only modern touch of this place. If you don't like to eat inside definitely order take out. This is the best Indian food in LA and I've tried many all over the world.
