Got a dragon roll and miso soup to go and it was incredible. Even the soup was really well done. The restaurant is small (about 8 seats around sushi bar and couple of two tops) and feels like a very cozy and traditional experience. They're going for quality over speed so if you go in for takeout expect a bit of a wait but it's well worth it.

Got to admit I'm a little biased about this sushi restaurant because: #1, the food is off the hook, made with love and mastery and #2, Kino and Yayoi (YoYo) have been my friends for decades now. Now that that's out of the way let's talk about sushi-love. First off, this place is right on Sunset Blvd, not far from The Whiskey and The Rainbow (on the other side of the street) If you wanna walk on the streets rock stars, movie stars and various vagabonds (including myself!) have walked on then this is your place. Not fancy but the real deal.10/11/2024 - Still doing it and doing it well. Always love coming back to Ta-ke. Top level sushi right on Sunset. Give it a visit if you're around. You'll be glad you did.

Let me take you to Ta-ke SushiOn Sunset Blvd just before San Vicente/Clark and a beat up from Santa Monica Blvd and deep West Hollywood... You can find some street parking about with parking in the back that can fill up, but you might be lucky at this...Quaint intimate Japanese Cuisine and Sushi Restaurant with hanging decor, beautiful art, small tables, and a long bar area as well as some additional seating deep in the back past the kitchen and restrooms. You'll be greeted by both your server/host and the chefs behind the bar. Everything is made fresh and in front of you if you choose to dine at the bar. They have a wild variety of all the classic rolls + sashimi as well as some unique ones not to mention appetizers, salads, soups, and combination plates that also include tempura dishes.Being a veggie I knew the rolls I'd gravitate to and the vegetable roll times two was a big hit along with some amazing edamame and Nigori Sake to pair with a great night. While they didn't have any cucumber, avocado, or additional rolls on the menu (for my dietary restrictions), I was under the impression it was something they can do in a pinch. My date for the night recommended this spot and he is a big seafood foodie who partook in some of the large cut two-pieces as well as a California roll. The prices are on the mid-range side as an appetizer, two rolls each (basically), and sake came out to about $100 without tip. The food and service were great though the wasabi, ginger, and soy sauce didn't leave as much of an impression. The cut for some of the rolls was a little smaller/thinner than I'd expected, but still very satisfying. I wasn't able to try the Seaweed Salad or Tofu Miso, but our server said nothing but good things about them. She had great recommendations for both of us.While they do in fact have many vegetarian and a small portion of vegan options. I will Q-Tip that everything is made in a shared space with other ingredients, so be mindful if you are food intake sensitive (allergies, preferences or restrictions). They had the Dodgers game on, which was pretty cool as well as some light music. I think the Dodgers lost, but I definitely one with a great meal and guy to enjoy it with. It's a well-kept spot I think most do and would enjoy. Would dine again, possibly for lunch or just a drink and some appetizers, possibly with the same person ;)

Easily my favorite restaurant in LA. Cannot say enough good things. The sushi is incredible, and the service is SO sweet and nice. It is owned and largely staffed as a family affair - a great LA story. I have gone on dates here, brought family here, and attended many group dinners here over the past 15 years. Ta-Ke is cozy, modest, and authentically Japanese. Oftentimes they have Japanese baseball on the TV in the main room. If you want to have a group, make sure to call ahead to reserve the back room (max 6 peeps is comfortable), and plan for a longer dinner - they can only make food so fast. The only problem that Ta-Ke has created for me is that I am resistant to go to any other sushi place in LA - I only want to go here. I am no sushi connoisseur, but I've been to many other fancy/popular sushi places and this sushi is frankly better in my opinion, as you see who is making it and the care that they are taking in preparing the food. If I ever moved from LA, Ta-Ke would be one of the places I'd miss the most.

Kino has the finest hand for the highest quality sushi. Small and personal Ta-ke has fed and treated everyone like family. You won't find anywhere better.

Can I just say WOW?!A friend picked this place for us last night as it was right next to the Roxy, where we were heading. I'm so glad she did! While dining I truthfully was getting a little irritated at the speed of serving; however, I later realized a) it's a small family owned establishment and b) the chef was taking delicate care of each dish he made. Boy was it WORTH it! I'm the dummy that left us not enough time to enjoy more.10/10- black pepper tuna 10/10- yellowtail jalapeño roll.I'll be back! Totally my new sushi spot while in WeHo.

Our favorite sushi restaurant outside of Japan. My Japanese father in law introduced us to this place when we first moved to L.A. and we have been coming back for a decade now. The sushi is fresh and Kino-San the chef owner takes so much care to create beautiful dishes. No frills restaurant that is 100% food focused. Get the omakase sushi, you won't be disappointed!
