This place is great albeit a little overpriced in my opinion even though the sushi is absolutely spectacular. You leave still feeling hungry.Tuna skewers were amazing.Sake was great. You get to chose your own glass.Tuna special and salmon special were to die for,Yellowtail scallion hand roll was amazing too. You can tell they take there craft very seriously here, but you must be prepared to pay the premium price. Also, waiter was very knowledgeable and friendly.

This is my second time here, but first time for counter omakase ($180). I love the look of this place, it's so cute! All the dishes and plates were pretty and all different. My friends even got to choose their own sake glasses out of a box with different options. Omakase was 18 courses and included not just sushi, but soups as well as cooked fish, dessert, and a handroll. I was veryyy full even after not even finishing some of the items. Service was very hands on as there were a lot of dishes to take away and sauces to bring. One thing that I did not appreciate is they didn't even ask still or sparkling water (trick question because answer is tap), but just started pouring Acqua Panna, which led to being charged an extra $18 for water. I wish they would have asked first.

I recently had lunch at this Sushi Tama , and while there were some highlights, my experience was a bit of a mixed bag. The lunch specials were reasonably priced, and the service was top-notch. Every table had attentive staff who were quick, knowledgeable, and efficient in bringing out our orders. They were also extremely polite and accommodating to my colleagues and me, which really stood out.The ambiance was another positive aspect. The space was sleek, clean, and well-organized, with options to dine either indoors or outdoors. The outdoor seating, especially, was a nice touch--plenty of shaded areas, making it comfortable to enjoy your meal outside. Now, for the food. The wagyu was a definite highlight--silky, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. However, I was quite disappointed with the surf and turf. The dish was bland, tough, and lacked the taste and texture I was hoping for. It just wasn't appetizing at all which was unfortunate given how much I was looking forward to it and what I paid for. Overall, I enjoyed trying a new place, but unfortunately, it didn't meet my expectations enough for a return visit. The staff and service made the experience enjoyable, but the food, aside from the wagyu, just fell short to me.

Sushi Tama is located at the Robertson Plaza and serves up great sushi, in-fact I think this was some of the best sushi I've ever had. The ambiance/decor is sleek and minimalist made up of lots of wood and natural tones. Decor is non-existent. There is some outdoor dining available as well as indoor with tables and a sushi counter. The service was excellent on my first/recent visit a couple weeks ago and everyone was on top of things. Staff was very professional but friendly. The price point definitely matched the quality but it can be a bit pricey. We ordered quite a few things and everything was enjoyed by all. Somethings ordered but not limited to:Aburi Toro - Wow! This was so great. It's fatty tuna belly that's been partially grilled/seared using the aburi technique, so you get a nice cooked tuna with a raw inside. Edamame - Nicely cooked and a good portion to share. Custom nigiri plate - A custom plate with 10 pieces (chutoro, hirame, kinme, nodoguro, hamachi, sawara, katsuo, shima aji, sake, o-toro) was created and wow it was all so fresh and it all melted in my mouth. Kani hand roll - Nicely sized, average in taste but it was good. Parking options include street and garage parking.

Had a great dinner experience at Sushi Tama. From the moment I sat down, I knew the service would be amazing. Our waiter, Dino, was excellent! He folded my napkin and placed it on my lap! Like what?! I was impressed! Food was delicious! My favorites were the big tuna roll and the wagyu handroll. Highly recommend both. Even the soy sauce tasted better than your standard soy sauce. I love how you can watch the sushi chefs work during dinner. Relaxing jazz music played while we ate. Restrooms were clean and modern. It was an all around dope experience, and I plan on coming back!

I have never experienced something so amazing. The sushi is better than sushi fumi, nobu and masuhisa. It's so incredibly fresh and goes down like butter like a cloud. I can't wait to come back here.

Probably the best sushi I've ever had in Southern California. Every bite was incredible and delicious. We sat at the bar and everyone was really friendly and attentive. My date was a regular so it felt like a very cozy and welcoming experience. Cannot wait to come back.

Highly recommend Sushi Tama. The fish was super fresh and delicious and we really enjoyed the specials for the night. The aburi toro was absolutely delicious - seared on the outside and raw on the inside - the best of both worlds!Another standout was also the clam miso, super fresh and the clam was a perfect comparison for miso. Service was also great, our waiter was very attentive. We made a reservation day of and sat outside, which was really nice. Can't wait to come back and try their omakase or the chefs table!

Super sad that I made the mistake and didn't book the Omakase! If you do, make sure you select the 6 or 8 pm and make sure it's Omakase and not just Sushi Counter. I didn't realize that ahead of time and missed it since my search was for 7 pm and assumed that you could get Omakase as long as you were at the counter. Anyways, this is an elegant and minimalistic place that showcases some of the best of Japanese cuisine. We just ended ordering some items from the menu and it was good, but we weren't too knowledgeable to really optimize it. Really enjoyed the Big Salmon Roll and Oysters. The Chirashi bowl was yummy and filling as well with such fresh pieces of fish. I will make it back to try out the Omakase!!
