Sushi Gourmet

One of the best hidden sushi gems I've found to date . Don't let the location fool you , because the freshness of the fish and the peaceful ambiance is well worth finding parking. From the moment you enter you are placed in a serene atmosphere filled with tranquil music and nice cool air . You would never know that you're sitting at a small restaurant right next to a busy road with how quiet and peaceful it is inside . Staff were kind and really on top of making sure our drinks were filled and food served asap as to not let the cold fish warm . Chef was super friendly and gave great recommendations as well . Tempura was light, crispy , and piping hot. Had a great mix of veggies and multiple plump shrimp that would definitely satisfy any tempura lover like myself . California roll was fresh and gave a great palate cleanser along side the super fresh ginger ( which I'm 99% sure they cut fresh for you from how tangy and spicy it was ) between rolls . The Salmon lemon roll had a nice citrusy kick that complimented the salmon on top nicely . The Ikura sushi had a slight lemon flavor to the eggs which gave it more of a robust flavor , definitely something different than other places but was a great surprise for me . Not too overpowering but just perfect . Yellowtail jalapeño roll had a nice kick of spice which left you able to fully taste the roll and not be overwhelmed with heat . The blue fin tuna hand roll was one of the chefs recommendations that I'm pleased I went with . I'm usually very picky about my blue fin as some places it tastes way too fishy but not here . It was smooth and practically melted in my mouth . Hand roll was filled with fish and very little rice , like how all great hand rolls should be . Don't get me started on the CSA roll . Hands down one of my favorite things I've had . Super refreshing and honestly sealed the deal for me coming back here again and again. A part of me wants to keep this place a secret for myself but I'd rather share my lovely experience with anyone interested in stopping by in hopes that they too get to taste what this place has cooking .

This is a tiny restaurant near the McDonalds on Lankershim just south of Victory.I've had both take out and dine in.The sushi is fine; the seafood seems fresh. There is nothing special about it, but it's done like it should be. They aren't re-inventing the wheel here. The pricing is pretty standard for a sushi place on Ventura, however this is Lankershim. Service was efficient, however, I was the only one in the place.Not much in decor, but if you knew that this was a covered patio to a Taco stand before, it's an enormous improvement.

I got my food to go through Grubhub. The only thing I've tried was the Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice. I liked it and would definitely order it again. My order through Grubhub and the experience with this restaurant was straightforward and fairly quick. Parking seemed a little difficult. Since I was only picking up, I just parked as close as I could to a curb and put my hazards on to walk inside. The ambiance inside was casual and it was a small place. I don't think I'd ever dine in. Overall, I'd order the crispy rice from here again to go.

My favorite spot just a few blocks away from our home. Little hole in the wall, super clean, chill place to enjoy dinner with the family. Good prices, delish sushi with a twist. The staff are super friendly and you will feel like family.

Wanted to try a new sushi spot and noticed Sushi Gourmet on my way home. Customer service is great, we were greeted as we went in. I asked for my food to go and didn't have to wait that long. The restaurant itself is small, but nicely decorated and clean. The food was very good. The quality is there. I will definitely be coming back.

Great service & even better food!! Decided to visit Sushi Gourmet thanks to a friends recommendation and boy oh boy did it exceeded all my expectations!! The vibe is chill & different but in a great way! Reasonably priced considering the quality of fish you're eating. I have gone to many sushi restaurants in the valley and this is by far the best! Don't sleep on Sushi Gourmet, the valleys hidden sushi gem.

Fresh sushi is my favorite! And this place has that! I highly recommend the yellowtail jalapeño roll, but in all honesty they have a major variety of great, delicious sushi! Make no mistake and stop by. Definitely a hidden gem in the San Fernando valley!

This place used to be a run down taco spot so I was hesitant to go try it. It has been completely remodeled and very cozy. The sushi is fresh and reasonably priced. The only drawback back is that they do not have alcohol but they are working on it so we will definitely return once they have their license.

Love this place. Small restaurant, but tasty rolls. Tried almost everything, and I'm a fan.
