9. Ooh Guh Ji Galbi Tang is my go to order! This place is always busy but there's very little wait on weeknights. Parking is $4 cash and $5 venmo/zelle and there's a lot attached to the store. The food is really solid and the portion sizes are always great.

The galbi jjim specialty with cheese was amazing. They melt the cheese in front of you, so everything is freshly melted and hot. I got a large with mild spiciness. Mild had a good amount of spice for me compared to other restaurants where I usually order medium. The ribs were tender and juicy. Beware of the sauce splashing onto others near you as you try to bite the meat off the bone. There were a good amount of sides that are refillable. You have the option to choose purple or white rice. I suggest the purple rice as the grains are a bit thicker and go well with the thick sauce. The sauce is a great balance between sweet and savory. The food was 5/5, but the service was pretty poor thus the reason for 4/5. The server came to us after five minutes asking if we were ready to order, but we asked for a few more minutes. Fifteen minutes passed where he tended to other customers by getting their orders, giving them side dishes, and even bringing out their food. I had to call him over to let him know we were ready. They did not come over to check on us throughout the meal, and we had to raise our hand to ask for more water and side dishes. My partner went up to ask for a box at the end of our meal, and Ally said "What do you want?" in a rude tone. She packed our leftovers for us, but if that was the reason for her attitude I would've rather packed it myself. There is a lot of seating in this restaurant. The servers work quickly, so if you're not ready to order, expect to wait. It's clean inside with large windows around the building. The food tasted great, but the service could use some work.

Every food here was very good. The side dishes was delicious and the koh galbi jjim was very well made. The only downside was that galbi meat didn't come off easily off the bone which could only indicate one thing: didn't take enough time to cook it thoroughly. Everything else was very good. I recommend adding cheese as well.I would say it's a bit louder with a lot of drunk people at night but that's usually the place in Koreatown haha

Great late night spot for traditional Korean food! This is the best place for warm, comfort food. Only downside is parking can be difficult during peak hours. The Galbi-jjim is a must try! It can take some time to come out, but it is definitely worth the wait. The short ribs are so tender and packed full of flavor from the hearty broth. It pairs perfectly with a warm bowl of rice. They even have plenty of tasty sides. I had a great time at Sun Nong Dan. This was my first time trying this spot, but I know it won't be the last. They have so many soups I can't wait to come back to try!

The quality and flavors are quite good... We've been here before 8 years ago... It was good then as was tonight. Prices are, of course, higher.Flavors are strong and spot on to make my taste buds n' tummy happy. It's simply a 5 star result for my preferences... In spite of not having returned for 8 years before this evening.

Came on a Monday afternoon for lunch and even though it was busy, there was no wait for a group of 6. There is a parking lot out in front but it's valet. We just found some street parking but make sure to pay attention to the signs and meters! They don't have many side/banchan options compared to others but I really enjoyed the flavor or the kimchi and daikon. The soups are so flavorful and comforting, perfect if you're looking for a recovery meal after a night of partying. They come out pipping hot and surprisingly 1 stone bowl portion is very generous and can be shared between two people.

After watching a concert in DTLA, we decided to look for a place to eat. Due to the concert ending very late at night, most businesses were already closed. Thank goodness for this place which is open 24/7 so it's definitely a lifesaver for three hungry girls. The place was very busy. Parking lot was almost full but we got lucky to find a spot by the entrance. We shared an order of 차돌 수육 (Chadol Soo Yook)$59.99Beef Brisket PlateNot sure why try call this a plate but it's definitely a very big bowl of soup. We shared this among the three of us but there were still some leftovers.Don't get discouraged if it looks so busy because you don't need to wait long to be seated. The staff is on top of cleaning tables right away. I'm looking forward to dining here again very soon.

This place is fantastic. They have the most delicious food, check out my photos and that's what you need to order. The only critique is when they melt your cheese I wouldn't ask them to mix it I would leave the cheese as is. When you pull up to the front they have you order outside then they seat you. It's open 24 hours and it' looks fresh and nice inside. I will be coming back here again many times for this dish.

Sun Nong Dan always hits and if you have never been then you are missing out. Everything on the menu is good but of course my favorite item is their #25: Koh galbi jjim with cheese (+$8). I also love their #10 which is the won gi tang. It is soup with short rib, ox knee, and oxtail. It's so good and great for a cold day. And I love that you can flavor it yourself with their tableside sea salt. The star though is the koh galbi jjim which is braised sbeef short ribs with back ribs and ox tail. So flavorful and delicious. It comes out in a hot stone skillet thing and they torch the cheese on top for you. Its perfect for a larger group even though you should still get it if you're a party of two. The service here is excellent. They kept checking up on us. The last time I came we enjoyed the food so much and had plenty of left overs. We still managed to order two more items though for the week. The restaurant is large but sometimes there is still a wait. Parking can be hard since its either valet or street parking if you can find any. I still prefer this location over the others.

Every time I'm in LA, stopping by Sun Nong Dan is a must--especially at night--for their galbi jjim. It's hands down the best I've ever had, even beating out Daeho, another trusted spot for this dish. The galbi jjim is rich, tender, and bursting with flavor, and the melted cheese topping takes it to a whole new level. Trust me, the line may be long, but it's a testament to just how incredible the food is. However long the wait, it's absolutely worth it.Pro tip: Order the galbi jjim with extra rice cakes--they're so good but never seem to give enough! For a party of 4-5, the large size is the way to go. It's only $10 more than the medium, so I'd honestly always recommend it even if your party is smaller. On the rare occasion you don't finish it, the leftovers are amazing. This is also a great spot to bring friends, though parking is limited, so I recommend carpooling or Ubering. The banchan and service are also top-notch. Their cabbage and green onion kimchi are some of the best I've had, adding the perfect balance to the hearty mains. If you're looking for authentic, soul-warming Korean food, Sun Nong Dan is the place. Don't miss it!
