I'd probably give this place a 3.5 overall. Came for a catered event and some of the food was good, but some of it was very off tasting. The tzatziki tasted like it was made of mayo and not yogurt. The breads were just mediocre, and the falafel was just meh..I liked the food options with some spice like the tagine a lot, and they do a good job for people with food restrictions.

I thought it was great - the pita is my favorite type of thinness but still dough-y. Another plate did have a hair inside though :(

"Ordered the classics. Let's find out. The $5 lemonade has me worried." -that was my check-in impression. I really wanted to like this place. It's charming and clean inside with very friendly service. It's the delicious/price/value venn diagram one does when choosing a restaurant and the intersection here is a chartruse color of Not-Next-Time. Table for two (at a four top) on a quiet Saturday afternoon. Beef and chicken shawarma on rice ordered - dinner portions with accompanying pita, hummus with yogurt-sample cups of garlic sauce and tahini. Tabbouleh, cabbage salad, Perrier, and the aforementioned $5 dollar lemonade. Baklava for dessert. All arrived promptly with a smile. Fresh ingredients were very fresh indeed, but beyond that it was just pitching the needle past bland. All the elements could be differentiated in flavor...the compliments stop there. All in for nearly $100 (two free Turkish coffees thanks to Yelp would have added another $10) after tax and tip. It's not bad food, but it doesn't stand out or above any street cart shawarma I've ever had in any country for a fraction of the price. Fresh ingredients are expensive and everyone has to make a living - but not off me.

The food and service here was below average. We came in and there were a few tables and one server. She took our order, without writing anything down, and forgot to bring us two sides we ordered. Then, when we got our food, I got a Greek salad with a chicken skewer, there were no olives on it. The pita bread didn't have any flavor and the rice was some of the worse, flavorless rice I've had in years. The service wasn't great - she wasn't rude, but she didn't make an effort at all. There's no way I would recommend this place to anyone. Also, the salads are advertised as being enough for two people for the "full" size and that's simply not true. Both my partner and I were still hungry after ordering a full salad, with chicken added, and also pita/rice as sides. The chicken was seasoned well and okay. There are other Greek restaurants in the area that are much better!

So good! Food is super fresh and the staff members are so friendly. Will definitely be coming back.

Very cozy and delicious food. But I have to say I felt in love with the handsome man that works there, not sure if he is the owner.

We decided to celebrate my mom's 60th birthday a couple weeks ago and I must say Eli and his wife made sure we were well taken care of. The food was phenomenal and very carefully curated. The vegan options were so many and meat eaters were in heaven- I love the versatility of the restaurant. All the salads are fresh, the pita bread and hummus - you won't stop eating that. The falafel was crispy and tasted authentic. The restaurant ambience and feel was welcoming and the decor was clean and modern. If I can give 100 stars for the service, I would. The whole party was satisfied. Everyone kept raving about how great the food was and how they will be returning. The celebration was everything my mom and family could ask for and we are very thankful. We will be coming back here soon. Street parking is easy to find. The restaurant is conveniently on the corner.

Ordered this food to go and it was yummy! I got the Greek salad with chicken kebab on top and I also got a special item they had (you probably have to ask periodically if they have it as he said it was for catering) which was branzino (fish) over rice with roasted almonds and rice. The Greek salad with chicken was super fresh. The chicken was juicy and well cooked. The branzino was delicious but my biggest issue was it was mostly rice and a very small amount of branzino. I paid about $19 for it so I was at least expecting a fuller piece of fish and it was only a few pieces over rice. But what was there was well cooked, tasty, and fresh! Would come back for the full sit down meal for next time!

Sumac had timely and friendly service, very good food. I will be going there again.The baklava was really tasty and not too sweet.
