I'm a big sushi connoisseur and I couldn't be happier that I found this place. Nice and updated decor, superb customer service throughout the whole night and the fish so fresh that the ocean called and was asking for it back. I absolutely loved the flavors of the albacore and tuna specialty rolls and their sushi just melted in my mouth. Special mention for their Japanese uni and toro with ikura and golden flakes. Just wow. My friends and I will definitely come back to experience this happiness again! P.S. The staff really try to connect with you, feel out your every seafood craving and make you feel like you're a part of their family.

Sushi is fresh, creative, and fun! The head Chef makes it a point to create original dishes and it shows. The creativity to turn raw fish into a full plate is truly incredible. This is the best sushi in the Valley and it's honestly not close. Highly highly recommend!

Totally empty on a Tuesday at dinner time. No wait, free parking underground and tons of meter street parking.Order:Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice-Very good. 9/10 on this, rice was crisp and tuna was fresh and comes with 4 pieces. Highly recommend Salmon & Albacore Sushi.-Fresh and delicious. Albacore came slightly seared and had a ton of flavor.Godfather Roll-Slightly spicy sauce and great combination of fish. Also was large with 9 pieces. Overall great sushi spot, fresh and flavorful with fantastic customer service. Location is 8/10, food is 9/10!This place is comforting and relaxing, very warm inside.

I've been meaning to try this place for a while after seeing the great reviews. I finally went tonight with a couple girlfriends, and it did not disappoint! The service was amazing, the ambiance was great, and my rainbow roll and spicy tuna handroll was fresh and delicious. As an added touch, I accidentally forgot my credit card in the check booklet. Our sweet waitress chased me down all the way to the underground garage to return it to me! So incredibly nice. I will return for sure!

The valley, specifically Ventura Boulevard, is the mecca for Japanese sushi, IMO. There are many A-rated gems around town, but Ventura Boulevard has a cluster of them. If you can't hack it, any one of a dozen chefs will happily take your spot, and their shot. In other words, It is tough here.I haven't been to a sushi place in the valley that's not an A because I research, and I'll walk out after a couple minutes inside. So here's my basic guide for an A:1) Restaurant smells fresh but not sterile or floral, and the bathroom is aesthetic and clean.2) Design that is very relaxing yet visually pleasing.3) Fresh sushi every open day.4) It doesn't cater to loud crowds (That's an izakaya)and it's quiet enough for the music to add to the vibe.5) The menu is extensive yet focused and includes seasonal and off-menu options.6) The wait for a dish is under 15 minutes (unless it's broiled etc.)7) 1 chef must be traditionally trained, preferably in Japan for the requisite 7+years. Pleasant and knowledgeable wait staff and chefs.8) Upon leaving you feel full, but also, hopeful, happy, like a better version of you. 9) The fish is sublime, perfectly cut, prepared and plated every time.10) The rice is the finest grade, and a little warmAnd: (1) hallmark: a fish delivery outside 9-5, witnessing chef breaking down a giant fish, family run, geishas, extensive drink Japanese drinks menu, lady chefs, or something else.OR(1) Extras: hand towels or basin for washing, takes reservations, other deserts besides ice cream, parking is free or close to it, serves natto or other soul food.Starline Sushi is an A. Please note: They have no alcohol license, but they welcome you to bring your own, and they will serve it to you for no additional cost. Parking in the building is $6. Street parking available.
