I've never visited a Filipino restaurant before and I was craving Asian food for lunch so we decided to check out this place. There's only street parking so be prepared to parallel park. We ordered 3 entrees and a side of rice for 3 people. I liked how on the menu, they give you different sizing options for a lot of the dishes. We chose the smallest side for each dish because we wanted to try a little of everything. Garlic rice was so good, the garlic bits were not burnt at all. Patita is a definite order!! Crispy outer edge skin and soft/moist meat in a sweet chili sauce. We also ordered the lechon but it was a bit on the fattier side but all of their pickled cabbages is so good. The bistec was also perfectly cooked medium rare with a tang of sourness. Everything was really good. I would recommend to others!

This hipster Filipino restaurant made my friends and I (all Filipino) worried when we first entered. Where are the Filipino wait staff and cooks?! Where's the smell of frying oil and vinegar? None were to be found, so we braced ourselves for a watered down traditional meal, prepared to be a little disappointed that our cravings wouldn't be fully satisfied. The interior was neutrals with leafy wallpaper, reminiscent of tropical foliage, though subdued in color to integrate into the vibe. The wait staff was pleasant and allowed us to pick our seats as they were freshly opened for the day. We ordered a mix of dishes, all to be shared family style. Our waiter was knowledgeable and answered questions, as well as provided guidance. Points for attempting the Tagalog names when addressing the menu. - chicken skin chicharron - perfectly fried and crunchy, seasoned well, and the Datu Puti vinegar aioli dip was a nice addition (though could be a bit more tart). This was gobbled down so quickly that we didn't have a chance to take a picture!- sisig - good flavor, but I prefer it a bit crunchier. This one was not crunchy at all and has more "sauce", which tasted good but didn't allow for the crispy skin, pork belly, cartilage, etc to showcase their textures Garlic fried rice - delicious and authentic to what my mom would make, perfectAdobo fried rice - tasty also, but since it's vegan, there wasn't the richness in the chicken or pork flavors that would normally be present. Without those, the ratio of adobo and vinegar has to be perfect and this was a bit off with a bit too much vinegar Tocino - not the typical red, thin slices of tocino we were used to. This was thick cuts of pork belly, with an atypical seasoning, but great flavors. Since this is thick pork belly, there's a lot of fat, so a little deep frying to render off a little bit more of it would be great, but the meaty portions tasted great and tenderPatita - can't go wrong with a crispy pata (deep fried pork hock). This smaller version was fried to perfection, with delicious crispy skin and flavorful meat. Here they top it with a sweet chili glaze (Mae Ploy chicken sauce?), which was a different take and not unwelcomed by most of our group. I would have preferred a lighter glaze myself, howeverOverall, everyone was happy with their meal and we had plenty of leftovers (4 people, ordered large of everything except a smaller sisig). The price is definitely higher than the "typical" Filipino restaurant but the different takes on the food were a nice change. The flavors are still there, so this should still please even Filipino cuisine traditionalists but provide enough differences for those who are curious to try it a slightly different way. This is a great way to introduce a newbie to the food of the Philippines, in my opinion.

Spoon & Pork is a Filipino inspired restaurant. Since the dishes aren't fully "Filipino", it left me a little disappointed towards the end. Some dishes were too salty or sweet, and sometimes overpowering. The service of the restaurant wasn't the best during my time there, but it might have been due to it being a slow day. In terms of parking, since it is located in Sunset Blvd, it took us a quite a bit to find one.Overall, if you are looking for Filipino food with a little twist, Spoon & Pork is the place to go.

When my friend and I dined in it was 6:40pm on a Friday night so it was just one table and us and the service was very underwhelming but tbh the quality of food was horrific. We ordered the normal Chicken Inasal and got served undercooked pink chicken!!We asked the waiter how they cook their chicken and he said they cook their chicken for six hours and claimed it was blood vessels and said to me 'do you expect me to do something about it?' And I'm like when you say it like that with that condescending tone, I lost my appetite immediately after that and never again am I coming back. Both me and my friend are having stomach issues right now. Quality check your food, undercooked beef is fine but not chicken and to outright lie about it is even more distasteful.

Spoon and Pork is a gem in Silver Lake. They are serving a modern take on Filipino food, and I'm absolutely here for it. During my visit, I had the opportunity to try the following: Pork Belly NigiriEggplant EnsaladaCrispy PataKare KareThe dishes here were all delicious. Sure, a bit of a different take on items that I personally grew up with, but all absolutely amazing! I loved how the kare kare was cooked separately, keeping all the vegetables crunchy. Also, their bagoong (iykyk) is housemade -- what!? It was really good too. Their crispy pata, a star of the show, was huge and definitely meant to be shared by a handful of people. The eggplant ensalada, was smokey, which was perfect for me, and the pork belly nigiri was heavenly. Spoon and Pork has generously offered meals for those in need. A huge shoutout to them and to all the businesses that have keeping our community in mind.

Came here because of a recommendation on YouTube and so glad I got to try it. You can order their entrees by single portion, double or family, which I love. I appreciate being able to portion it out and customize it depending on what you like.Recommend coming here with more people so you can try a little bit of everything. We ordered the patita for two, the bistek for one, and the mushroom appetizer and it was plenty of food for two people. Enjoy all the food with a side of their garlic rice. This really allows you to be able to try a little bit of everything. The patita was great, super crispy but I wish the meat was a little bit juicier on the inside. It did fall off the bone relatively easy, but the skin alone is enough to get me to come back. So saucy, a little bit of spice and sweetness from the chili sauce, and super crunchy. The bistek was also really good. I liked the fried shallots, the sauce and onions and the lemon really helps cut through the heaviness of the dish. The garlic mushrooms were also great and paired very nicely with the garlic rice and all of the other dishes. For drinks, their calamansi lime cucumber drink was very refreshing. Parking lot is shared between Spoon & Pork and Playita. I usually try not to come to LA for food because I hate driving and parking here, but I'd come back to LA for this spot.

Spoon and Pork charges way more than they deliver, and only does half the job to create a good experience. They ride a line between fancy and family style where I didn't feel like either of those aspects really shined. The interior has a take-out counter in front and then a few dine-in seats. They're pretty small and they don't have enough space for the family-style dining that they run with. The tables also felt a little sticky. We started with the lechon nigiri and shrooms salpicao. The nigiri comes with two pieces, we just went at the first too fast. The flavor is great, especially with the little kick from the sauce on top. The meat is pretty soft and you can bite through easily. The mushrooms are also very tasty. The sauce is very sweet and almost too much, but I don't NEED rice with this dish. I think "market mushrooms" is pretty pretentious for normal mushrooms. We moved on to sabaw over white rice, annatto rice, and lechon kawali. The sabaw is tasteful, mainly tomato and a blend of supporting spices. The lechon was good. It had a lightly crunchy skin side and the rest was nice and soft. I don't think it's worth the price though and it's definitely not enough to share. The pickled red lettuce isn't very good. The pickling is missing a bit of a sour kick.

We came out here after reading some of the yelp reviews!! Thanks ya'll for all the great tips!! We've come prepared on what we had wanted, but the dining area was filled so we had to sit outside in the patio. It was refreshing and cool outside, but being on Sunset Blvd, there were too many cars driving by and it was noisy and probably a little dusty. Street parking was easy to find. Just remember to bring quarters!! I always have quarters for street-metered parking, unless you park at the residential side, but be sure to check for parking rules. We got the calamansi and mango sparkling water to start as they were out of juices. We sat down a bit and finally our server, Adi, came out to take our order. Some of the dishes were out like the kare kare and the eggplant ensalada, which we had wanted to try, but we got to order a wide variety of items like pork belly nigiri, lumpia shanghai, shrooms salpicao (mushrooms with oyster sauce), and small plate of Adobe pork belly, lechon kawali (crispy pork belly and , bistek, and chicken inasal and a large garlic rice to go with everything. Everything was full of flavor and picture perfect delicious!! I enjoyed everything!! Adi was very nice and accommodating. Remember, at the bottom of the menu, it says that they charge 18% gratuity for team members, front and back of the house to ensure livable wage for all. I was ok with this. Thanks Spoon& Pork team for the great service and making excellent everything!! I give you 5 stars for great service and 5 stars for deliciousness!! I highly recommend this place!!

A really delicious find. Nicely balanced flavors and a mix of textures from crunchy to buttery soft. We got the chicken chicaharon, paratas bravas, patita, chicken inasal, and tocino with the garlic rice. The tocino might be the best pork belly I've ever had, buttery soft yet somehow not textureless, and a nice bright kick of flavor from the orange peel. Of all the dishes, I might skip the inasal next time, but it was a nice leaner part of the meal. Definitely saving this one for a return visit.
