Love this place! It's run by the same company that owns Houston's if you've ever been there. They're great at consistently good American food, mostly grilled meat and fish options, although they really have a little bit of everything. One thing they're known for, but don't always advertise on their menu is their grilled artichokes. They have to be in season and available because they source them from this one special farm that grows delicious baby artichokes. I would definitely ask your waiter if you enjoy artichokes, they come out really tender and a little smoky from the grill and they're served with a delicious aioli. The restaurant is great for apps and steaks. I always get the spinach artichoke dip with tortilla chips because it always hits the spot. Their sushi is good too, I liked the spicy tuna which came with some roe on top. Last time I tried the deviled eggs which were creamy and delicious. As a main, I ordered the salad with grilled chicken as I was so overindulged with the apps I wanted something lighter for a main course. From past experience, if you like red meats, I would recommend their ribeye, Filet Mignon, & New York Strip as they're all delicious and they know how to grill their meats. They come out very well seasoned and cooked just to how you like them. Their service is excellent. All the waiters are super attentive and very friendly. The restaurant is dimly lit with nice decor and spacious bathrooms. A great place for a celebration dinner or just a nice dinner with family & friends.

Same owners as Honor Bar and Hillstone. I have been to Honor Bar many times over the years, but some reason I never tried SBG. I got my chance this past weekend and I'm very happy that I did. It's very similar to Honor Bar and Hillstone in that they specialize in traditional American food, the lighting is dark and moody, and each has a large bar with tons of seating. The menus of all 3 are very similar and have many dishes unique to each location, even though there are some dishes on all 3 menus like the Ruby Red Trout. As you would guess by the name SBG is located in southern Beverly Hills. Parking in this area is much easier than it is north of Wilshire. They're not as many parking garages in this area however street parking is very easy to find in this part of town. We found a metered parking spot one block away for our Saturday 7 PM dinner. Our server was polite however there were some issues checking in and getting seated. We arrived at 6:50 for a 7 PM reservation and did not sit down at our table until 7:15. They were also about 30 people waiting in the entryway so it was extremely crowded and we were all bumping into each other while we waited for a table to be ready. For walk-ins walking it was a two hour wait. I would suggest making reservations here because it's very popular and they're already pushed to the max as is. The other issue we had was we found a green worm in the Aritchoke so we only ate 2 of them given the surprise visitor. The menu has a lot of great options on it and is very similar to Honor Bar. Pricing is a bit more expensive compared to other places that serve the same type of food. We started off with the Deviled Eggs which I have had before and am a big fan of - the diced pickles inside really added to the flavor. Next I tried the Grilled Artichokes and honestly loved them. They come in a set of three so it's a good size portion. The aioli with it was absolutely delicious and I ate every bit of it. Finally for my entree I chose the True Dover Sole because I'm a huge fan of that fish and this one was done very well. It was lightly breaded and I prefer sautéed but still I really enjoyed it. I was underwhelmed with the side of coleslaw though. Wish they would do a gem salad or rice mix or something along the lines. Maybe just do your brussels sprouts instead because the coleslaw was pretty bland.Overall a great place to have a nice casual meal. I would say that SBG is more suited for dinner with friends or family versus a date spot but in fairness this place would be good for pretty much any occasion.

RIP HAWIIAN STEAK. Getting rid of the Hawaiian steak will be the biggest mistake of all time since SBG's other steaks are mediocre at best.... And it's not like their sauces are anything to die for.The Hawaiian marinade was sacred. The Dover sole is now paired with.... Coleslaw.......?What's happened to the kitchen...

My friend was asked to leave because her political beliefs contradicted a "regular's" who was a Trump supporter.Regardless of who you support, you should not be asked to leave a restaurant based on your beliefs. Everyone should have the right to express their opinions, whether they are in line with your regular customers, or not. I am so disappointed, that although I love this place, but I will never go back.

Wait is very long here so I recommend a reservation. Also they don't take reservations over 4 people. Food come out fast here and the servers are all great. Really work as a team. For lunch we had the trout. Best trout I've had in years. Cooked perfectly and a large size. The side of fries were fresh and nicely salted. Daughter said ribs were excellent, nice and saucy. We like that some places still add the sauce in the ribs. The chicken salad was amazing. The dressing was the best part. The salad was huge and a two people can share it.

The best service from our server Martha! Started off with the spinach and artichoke dip which was the perfect start to the night. Also not drinking alcohol at the moment so I opted for a Shirley Temple with a splash of grapefruit juice which was the best shirley temple Ive had with fresh grenadine and a mexican sprite. The omelette and kale was simple but delicious. I would love to comeback and try the crab cakes!

This is, as expected in Beverly Hills, a beautiful, elegant restaurant. I strongly recommend reservations. From the moment you arrive at the valet stand, you are warmly and courteously welcomed. We were there for lunch, with friends visiting from overseas. Shania, our waitress, and the entire team were most attentive, providing excellent service. Every dish was reported, around the table, to be delicious! Our entire experience was A+

South Beverly Grill is a classic LA staple except it is always busy. The lighting is not great at night, however, the service is fast. All of the staff are excellent. The menu is kind of all over the place with sushi and American Classics to fresh fish so expect everything from spicy tuna rolls to green brussels sprouts and spinach artichoke dip. Typical price point for LA I would say a really reliable restaurant. You know what you're going to get every single time but I would not say it's phenomenal. I would not say it's a must go to that being said the salmon grapefruit salad was really fresh and but it was not like an all-time favorite salad. This is a good place to go if you're looking for a sit down place in a convenient area with quick service but not super fine fancy or anything knock your socks off. I would give it an eight out of 10.

I've been eating at Hillstone in Bal Harbour and Coral Gables for many years. The Hillstone group delivers every time, quality ingredients and consistent flavor each time. The French dip sandwich is a must with the key lime pie. The sushi is also some of the best around, Thai tuna roll or pressed sushi roll are the amazing. Thanks South Beverly Grill for a great lunch, we even had Xzibit sitting next to us. Good times!
