Went to the one on Washington Blvd and from the valet to the wait staff, everyone was so warm and welcoming. The place had delicious food, great vibe, clean and easy atmosphere. Our waitress Angela was a gem. She was very accommodating and friendly. The food was very good, I had the fried lamb chops and they were 10 out of 10. The wings were cooked perfectly, still crispy even coated in sauce, and that jerk sauce was amazing. The fried okra was also a great addition, perfectly cooked. I did have the green beans but they were too salty and overcooked for my taste but that is the only thing that was not great. Here you get delicious food and unexpectedly captivating entertainment in which I was pleasantly surprised with both. Will definitely return.

Food was disgusting. No soul food. Located in a strippers bar. Shrimp was overly fried and had different batter, and the yams were disgustingly old, way too much sugar and dark in color. The macaroni and cheese had no flavor. I'm assuming my food was old.

My brother from another mother wanted to try this place, so off we went. Upon entering the vibe was off. There was no organization it felt all over the place, it looked all over the place. We stood there for almost 10 minutes before we were able to place our order. Mind you no one was ahead of us. It took about 20-30 minutes to get our food. Lamb chops plate and oxtails plate with 2 lemonades. The lamb was gamer and not cooked too well. Fried ochra tasted like it came from a frozen bag, but was decent. Greens were good, Mac n cheese was yummy. The oxtails were hittin with the spoonful of rice they put under it the lemonade was gross. I think it was made with syrup and not real lemons. I mean country time would have been better and more acceptable. I'm all for new experiences but I wouldn't go back. Very disorganized and I seen a B on the window. From the cleanliness of the place I understand partially why. The staff had good friendly personalities. There's definitely potential.

I work in dtla and have been to Lokels Only to visit other vendors so I was very familiar with the shared kitchen concept. I found Soulo's via IG and their chili cheese fries caught my eye and I decided to give them a try this afternoon. My girlfriend ordered the fried Catfish plate which comes with your choice of two sides. She absolutely loved her fresh catfish and Mac n cheese. She did like the greens but, they were a bit "tangy" in her opinion I ordered the fried Shrimp with Mac n cheese and Greens. For my taste, the batter on the shrimp was a tad salty but, that's ok because a lot of places tend to leave out flavor and their flavors were on point. The Mac n cheese was fireeeee! The greens were coo but, like my friend said, the vinegar might have been a lil much. Their service, ambiance is a whole vibe and I would definitely recommend giving them a try. I also ordered a piece of cornbread but, the batter might have been over mixed because the cake was dense and slight crumbly. As a baker myself, it is very easy to over mix cake batters plus so many factors such as room temp ingredients and measurements using a scale are sooo important. The caramel drizzle on top was a nice touch as well. I love supporting small businesses so please give them a try

Everything was great, solid 4.5/5. Ordered the oxtail plate w/ Mac n cheese and collared greens + the 6 wings and fries. The food is cooked well and well-seasoned, and I perhaps can see how some folks find it too salty but not me. The oxtails were tender pretty close to fall off the bone, and the chicken and fries were crispy. I liked the batter w the chicken which was tender too. The Cajun seasoning is excellent.I liked the large shells w the Mac and cheese, I think it provides great texture and allows for the cheese to be picked up and adhered to the noodles. Greens had that nice sour bite to them w/ good consistency. I thought these portions were good and enough for two adults. Definitely coming back, they've been here for year and more I hope!

I've been wanting to try Soulo's/Billionaire Burgers for a LONG while. I was happy to finally make it! I came from out of town and made an extra effort to stop by while I was in LA!I went with the Soul menu...maybe I should have done a burger? The chicken wings, although fried well, were not seasoned...AT ALL. The mac&cheese was good, but cold because both the mac & green beans were dipped out on the plate and left sitting there while the chicken fried. The green beans were SO salty...and cold. The guy cashiering was very friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, I was really disappointed to see the owner/head chef yelling and cussing at his staff...throwing things...and refusing to calm down, even when the woman cooking tried to calm him. He seemed to be upset that things were untidy and out of place. But, that could have been handled MUCH better...and privately. The look on all of their faces made me sad...they seemed humiliated, yet used to it. They didn't say anything to him...they just let him throw his tantrum and tried to keep working and do what he was yelling at them to do. I consider SOUL food to be a way to heal people...the food should be prepared by people who are feeling GOOD and happy to be there feeding people's SOUL. I can't imagine staff being able to season food properly and cook and prepare food well, when they're being treated like that. The food was subpar at BEST...I didn't even finish it. Unfortunately, between the food and the head chef's antics...I won't ever be back.

I'm saddened to do this, especially to a black owned business but I feel completely robbed. I spent $63 on fried lamb chops and a side of greens. The chops were all breading, the mashed potatoes tasted like they came out of a box, the yams were tough. The Mac was wet and dry at the same time and everything on my plate was brown with the exception of the greens that came straight out of the can. I'm disgusted! I wanted this restaurant to be good because I live in the DTLA area but this was a hard hell no for me.

I have been following this page for a while and never got around to stopping by. Now before I get into what was wrong let me start by saying this food was absolutely amazing! Everything I got was devoured so I have to give them that. Now about my experience, I initially was confused because the store is inside an asian fusion restaurant and the menu is not really accessible. After reviewing the menu, chef soulo said he would be right with me which turned into me waiting to place an order for almost 20 minutes. Soulo then started singing while waiting for me to order, which confused me because he never said "I apologize" or "sorry for the wait" nothing just picked up the ipad and looked at me. I ordered my food, gave them my number to text when it was ready and got a number. This was my first time at this place ever and even though the food was great, his customer service sucks! I just saw on his IG page about his place burning down and can't help but wonder if that was karma. I really want this black man to succeed but he either needs a lot of patience and gratitude or hire some more help.

I saw a TikTok video about this place and the food looked so good I had to try it. Went there for a late lunch today with my sister and it did not disappoint. I ordered the Mac-m-Cheese, fried shrimp and collard greens and my sister had the blackened salmon, mashed potatoes, and collard greens. First standout was the perfectly fried, perfectly seasoned shrimp. It was the best fried shrimp I've had at a restaurant. The mac-n-cheese and greens were very good as well. My sister loved the fish and said the mashed potatoes were . Did I mention the purple Kool-Aid?? If you know, you know... Took me back to my childhood. Be back soon Soulo's!
