Snake Pit Alehouse Whiskey Bar & Kitchen

Great place to chill and have a drink and some fries(which are good!) You can control the music if you have the jukebox app. Staff was attentive and friendly.

The Snake Pit has really good food with really good deals. For example, for $20 you can get a burger, fries and beer. Relative to a restaurant, I think that's pretty good. And the burger was actually pretty good which lots a vegetables which I like and a fancy bun. My friend got the chicken tenders which also looked really good. The fries are nice and crispy and not super oily.

Very nice place to chill and unwind. The menu isn't large by any stretch but they did have an ample amount of drinks available and the Happy Hour menu had great value (in both food and drinks). I would be happy to stop by again when I want to take a break from shopping on Melrose.

I mean look, it's not the tidiest or newest bar but it's a part of the history of the area at this point and I think it's great.The bartender was friendly and accommodating. He let me try a new beer I hadn't tasted before ordering.The bar itself is pretty quaint but has really good seating options and windows that open up to the outside.Overall a really chill place if you just wanna hangout in a not crowded place on the weekdays. Music and everything is good as well.

If I lived a bit closer, this would be my fave local bar. Service was great. Prices weren't terrible. Fun customers. And a couple good non-alcoholic beers when I want to mix it up. My kinda place.

An institution of Melrose area. Great hang out if you want to get together with friends and don't want to break the bank. We have been coming here for many, many years and it is always a fun experience.This isn't a pretentious place, but they did upgrade the beer selection over the years, they have more craft beers on tap. Food is decent, your regular pub grub, decent burgers that can pair well with a beer. OK service, good place to catch up. Some street parking.

It's a true dive bar in the heart of melrose. Seems to have good drink deals. Lots of people drinking. Two choices of NA beer. Burger and fries real was ok. Cool super casual spot to hang out and drink. Happy hour is until 7.

Cool local dive bar with good food but unfortunately has mid service, idk if it's just me but the staff had an attitude both times I've been there.The calamari/ fries combo is my new go to, it's super yummy!! I damn near stuffed my face, super delish. I also really loved their whiskey shot + beer deal it's inexpensive and hits the spot every time. The service here was... weird but I'd come back.

Classic dive good vibes, seems like there's a nice community of regulars, massive cocktails and a good price, great location on melrose

I truly wish I could leave zero stars. Service was horrible and they charged me the price of a completely different bourbon and didn't fix it. I ordered Weller Antique 107 and they charged me 40 DOLLARS for Weller 12 Year which they don't even carry. Very disappointed as someone that works in the industry. I'll never return and I'll make it a point to tell everyone I know to avoid that bar.
