Sky's Gourmet Tacos

The best Tacos is Los Angeles. They also have a cool seating area I had the potato and vegan cheese taco and because I'm greedy I also had the turmeric and rice taco which was soooo good. I love the unique taste and choices.If you are doing takeout, order ahead of time because they're usually busy.

I really wanted to love this place but it was underwhelming. First the wait was way too long. I ordered my food in advance which was ready after I got there 40 mins later but a friend who hadn't ordered in advance ordered there and waited a good 30 mins. For tacos?!? And they were meh. I had the salmon, shrimp and black bean tacos. None really blew me away but the salmon I could definitely do without. The seasoning just wasn't there. Anyway, the food wasn't the greatest plus the wait... just wasn't it for me.

Anytime I'm driving down pico, I make sure I stop at sky's tacos. I love this place, I will always go here to grab a quick bite. Their tacos are delicious.

I enjoyed the casual outdoor seating with picnic tables. They also have tables and chairs with large umbrellas to shield from the sun on a hot summer day in LA. I ordered the authentic tacos, which were street tacos (carne asada) and a side of pinto beans and rice. The pinto beans had a very spicy creole seasoning that was delicious and it was paired with white rice. The carne asada was also seasoned very well and flavorful. I ate the entire meal in about five minutes followed by a cold drink of horchata. Definitely recommend.The staff said busy hours usually start around 7:30pm. I came around 6:00pm on a Saturday and it was an average crowd.

Sky's has great vegan options on the menu. I decided to order the potato tacos and they were so good! Can't wait to try their vegan meat nachos next time.*The service was phenomenal *The ambiance was perfect (especially for brunch dates)*Parking is on-site or on the street (free)I highly recommend this Mid-City gem

I must say, I had a really good friend that found this place. He asked me if I was interested in going, and I said sure why not! I live by Beach and I never go inland and I thought why not try something new. Prior to my experience here my friend sent me a YouTube of the owner on the news, talking about her business and her spices, and that really enticed me and impressed me .Being that, I've never been here before. I wasn't sure the Ordering process or seating arrangements. .I was a little bit taken back by the fact that we did not get greeted when we entered the restaurant area where the cooks are . No hello no welcome. No I'll be right with you. Nothing that was a little bit disappointing I said hello either way . When I first walked in and nobody responded. They just looked at me like they were ghosts. Lol. I kept looking at the register, thinking that somebody was going to come out from another area to help us, but nobody came, and after around 10 minutes of standing there, looking at each other, finally one of the cooks walked over to finally take our order. Was this a good first impression absolutely not was this a warm welcoming definitely not.With that said, I'm pretty sure the Restaurant owner is not aware of the way her staff is treating customers so I think it is a good point for me to bring this up so that she can address it . Everyone that walks in that Restaurant should have some sort of hello or greeting and also to let the customer know that they'll be right with you.Now, for the good part! The ambience the seating, the view, the architecture, all the articles and write ups. The music was popping and pretty incredible if you ask me. The food was absolutely incredible. I really enjoyed my chicken taco and my shrimp taco although the shrimp taco was a little too oily. In my opinion, maybe next time I'll tell the cook no oil. The seasoned chips were outrageously good the seasoning was so delicious. We ended up ordering two bags of chips, guacamole My friend ordered the steak nachos and it was presented beautifully with very fresh ingredients. Lots of tomatoes, cilantro, black beans. My friend was just moaning the entire time he was eating them. It was hilarious. We also ordered the pineapple cheesecake and it was so good .I really enjoyed the food here. It definitely was soulful and the music and the lights in the evening were really beautiful. Plenty of parking although I think they should take away the parking and make it just all seating and people can park in the street but if you do decide to dine in here, you can park in the lot or on the streetI am ultimately basing my review on the DELICIOUS food, quality presentation location, music ambience . Unfortunately the service was not great and definitely needs improvement.

This place used to be really good both food and service but over the years the service is so bad and food quality had gone down Old dry burnt black beans and flavorless rice the mushroom burrito was not that good I see why their rating has gone down

This is the secret soul food taco place where the secret needs to get out. sky's has remained consistently great for a long time. The tacos, tortas and salads are amazing - and with great portions. I always get at least once shrimp taco and something else. The lemonade is better than your grandmas and the cheesecake is so good you'll want to slap someone.

They catered my cousins very special birthday celebration for 60 plus people. The food(salmon and shrimp tacos, turmeric rice, black beans, guacamole, chips, and all the fixings)was fresh and absolutely delicious. They provided nothing less than exceptional service. From my first encounter with Lupe, who provided us an excellent tasting menu, to Barbara, who took all my anxiety surrounding the event and channeled it into pure confidence with her "I got you and we'll take care of all your catering needs" attitude. Last, but not least, Victor, who was the face of Sky's at our celebration was the cherry on top. He was personable and took time with each guest to make sure they had exactly what they wanted, while being mindful to ask about allergies, if warranted. This trinity made an afternoon soiree stress free. The three of them went above and beyond our expectations.I'm grateful for the experience and thankful that I chose them for my catering needs. I would highly recommend Sky's Gourmet Tacos, if you're planning a small gathering or a large event.
